Abstract

The purpose of this paper are to examine and analyse abnormal returns of momentum portofolio on Islamic stocks listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index 30 (JII 30) for the period 2010-2018. The method used in this study is Jagedeesh and Titmant (1993). Winner portfolio is formed by buying stocks with the best return performance in the past and selling stocks with bad returns in the past. Whereas a loser portfolio is formed by buying shares of poor return performance in the past and selling stocks with good returns in the past. Formations and observations used 1,3,6 and 12 months. With portfolio weighting based on equal-weighted and value-weighted. Abnormal return of momentum portofolio when winner minus loser positive. Significant contours are determined by a one-sample t-test using SPSS 25. The study did not find any abnormal return on the Islamic stocks listed on JII 30 for the period 2010-2018. But investors can still use this strategy to increase investment returns on Islamic stocks. Because this strategy still provides positive abnormal returns

Abstract

Tax disputes are not as scary as most people imagine. Tax disputes are also not something that should be feared by taxpayers or other tax actors. This paper explains how a tax dispute is manifested as a difference of opinion. Differences of opinion in terms of interpreting or interpreting a tax provision and regulation. Differences in how to apply tax regulations to real business conditions occur. This tax dispute also occurred in ADHI-IBG, KSO. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The data used in this study are SPHP data and response letters from taxpayers. From the analysis conducted, the researcher grouped the differences in views due to differences in understanding related to the enforcement of tax rules and differences in understanding of the accounting system used by companies and financial documents that became the elements that caused tax disputes to occur. This dispute has become more and more protracted and lengthy due to the inappropriate behavior of the tax examiner. The behavior raised by the tax auditor is that the tax auditor does not accept the arguments against the financial system used by the taxpayer and the rules in tax audit. The attitude of abuse of power possessed by the examiner also makes the examiner ignore and re-examine the explanation given by the taxpayer. The attitude that is also raised by the tax examiner is to refute the explanation of the taxpayer using mere assumptions, without clear data. In this condition, the taxpayer only fights for justice in the midst of the examiner's behavior that abuses power. A long process in fighting for justice must be passed. It is not a matter of material being accepted, but this is done so that similar incidents do not happen again in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of concentrated ownership structure, the proportion of independent commissioners and audit committees on earnings management with audit quality as a moderating variable in real estate and property sector companies listed on the IDX for the 2015-2019 period. Hypothesis testing is done by using panel data regression model fixed effect to a total of 110 observation data from 22 research samples. The results of hypothesis testing indicate that concentrated ownership and the proportion of independent commissioners doesn’t have a significant effect on earnings management, while the audit committee has a significant and negative effect on earnings management. The results also show that audit quality is able to moderate the negative effect of the audit committee on earnings management, meaning that the supervision of the Big 4 external auditors and the large number of audit committees will be able to improve the quality of financial reporting and reduce the company's earnings management actions.

Using quantitative methods with descriptive research typeswith composite stock price index (CSPI) data, crude oil price data (WTI), gold price data (London Gold) and data on the Rupiah exchange rate against the Dollar during the Covid-19 pandemic starting from 02 March 2020 to 25 March 2021 taken from Datastream at Eikon Faculty of Economics, Andalas University, Padang and obtained 275 samples. The results of the study using the Arch/Garch method found that there was no significant effect between the price of Crude Oil on the JCI, while for the price of Gold there was a significant positive effect on the JCI and for the exchange rate there was no significant effect on the JCI. The results of the ARIMA forecasting method until March 25, 2022 found that the JCI tends to increase, as seen from the second quarter of 2021 (beginning of forecasting) to the first quarter of 2022, the JCI continues to move up. Crude Oil Prices have decreased until the first quarter of March 2022, Gold prices tend to be stable with not too many significant changes. Abstract

The banking industry must also continue to innovate in the development of electronic banking products and services to keep up with the rapid development of information technology, which has an impact on people's habits and routines. To further reduce the need for customers to physically visit a bank branch, financial institutions must enhance their offerings to allow for the self-service acquisition of a wide range of banking services (including but not limited to account opening, account maintenance, account transfer, and account closure). The purpose of this research was to examine the impact of technological advancements in electronic banking services, fee-based income, and efficient internal control on the market value of IDX-listed banks in the sub-sector from 2016 to 2020. Sampled from the larger population of IDX-listed financial services firms over the years 2016-2020, this study focuses on the banking industry. The study's population consists of 44 IDX-listed financial services firms. There were a total of 185 observations made for this study. Descriptive research was used for this analysis. Intentional sampling. The study found that the probability value of the innovation of e-banking was 0.005. This is less than the 5% threshold (0.00500.05), so H1 is accepted. According to the results of the second hypothesis (H2) test, banking companies' stock prices rise when they bring in more money from service fees. The study found that a probability value of 0.003 at the FBI level was statistically significant. Compared to the 5% significance level of 0.0030.05, this value is less than the threshold for accepting hypothesis 2. The third hypothesis H3 tests the idea that the efficiency of internal control has a significant positive effect on the value of financial institutions. A probability value of 0.0057 0.05 was assigned to the efficiency of internal control based on the findings of the study. In other words, we accept H3 as true. The purpose of this research was to determine how the introduction of new forms of electronic banking, the growth of fee-based revenue, and the efficiency of internal control affect the market value of financial institutions.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has become a concern regarding the severity of the pandemic and has an important role in investment decisions. Investment decisions are influenced by news (noise trader) circulating in the capital market. In this study, we analyze investor sentiment on the performance of Islamic stocks in Indonesia during the 2020-2022 Covid-19 pandemic. The independent variables in this study used Google Trend as a search for the number of words 'covid' and 'crisis, trading volume, and the Consumer Confidence Index. Meanwhile, stock returns are used as the dependent variable. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling to obtain 20 companies that were used as research samples. The analytical technique used in this study is panel data regression, where the results obtained are sentiment based on google trends with the word 'covid' having a significant and positive effect, trading volume and CCI also have a significant effect on stock returns. However, the word 'crisis' has no significant effect on stock returns.
