This research focuses on countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) with the aim of conducting empirical studies on opportunities for employment creation by FDI. However, due to limited data in several countries, this study only involved Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. The type of data used in this study is annual data covering from 1980-2017. Using estimation Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) allows to see short-term and long-term effects. The test results prove that the influence between variables is more visible in the long run.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the tendency of endogeneity on heuristic behavior as a reference for novice investors in making investment decisions. Endogeneity is a deviation in OLS modeling which shows that there is still a correlation between the independent variables in the model and the error, causing biased results. The issue of endogeneity is an interesting aspect of current research, and still creates pros and cons for researchers in the fields of finance and econometrics. In this study, 158 respondents were used who were novice investors. The selection of respondents was done randomly. In this study, four categories of variables were used, namely the dependent variable, namely investment decisions, the independent variable, namely financial risk tolerance, endogenous heuristic behavior variables and financial literacy instrument variables. The analysis method is carried out using ivregress 2sls which is processed with Stata. The test results found that endogeneity symptoms were detected in heuristic behavior of novice investors. This behavior appears and influences investment decisions because it is preceded by financial literacy, which rejects the insights that investors have about financial science or investment.

Abstract

The study investigates how governance and political support affect the level of corruption in Aceh Province. To measure the level of corruption, the number of corrupt individuals involved in corruption cases that the court handled between 2019 and 2021 was taken into consideration. The governance aspect was evaluated based on the achievements of Monitoring Control for Prevention (MCP) and performance accountability, while political support was assessed by the support provided by political parties in the legislature to regional leaders. The negative binomial panel regression method with a fixed-effect approach was used to analyze the data collected from 24 local governments (provincial and district/city) in Aceh Province. The results indicate that governance has a significant negative impact on corruption. Therefore, it is crucial to consistently improve governance by enhancing MCP achievements and performance accountability in local governments to combat corruption in Aceh Province. Improvement efforts can be made to optimize the role of APIP in overseeing the implementation of government, especially state financial management to be more effective and efficient

Abstract

This study uses Susenas March 2019 raw data in a cross-section of 34 provinces and 514 districts/cities in Indonesia with a coverage of 315,672 households, designed using a quasi-experiment on the treatment group and control group after program implementation. The treatment group was formed by beneficiary families while the control group was formed by non-beneficiary families. The sample of beneficiaries was 50,485 or 9,845,922 households if calculated with Susenas weighting (65.55% of the total 2019 realization of 15,020,323 national beneficiaries) and non-beneficiaries were 181,358 households. The data were analyzed using a probit regression model and impact estimation was conducted using the Propensity Score Matching (PSM) approach. The results suggest that education level is a bigger determinant for households to become Rastra-BPNT beneficiaries, especially for household heads who did not finish primary school and those who graduated from primary school. Rastra-BPNT food social assistance has a significant and positively correlated impact on beneficiary families with a pattern of food proportion to total expenditure > 50%. There was a shift in the food consumption budget share for Beneficiary Families in several dominant commodities such as grains; eggs and milk; processed food and beverages; and cigarettes, tobacco and betel. The distribution of Rastra-BPNT from November 2018 to February 2019 can reduce the gap between household groups, but there are still errors in the distribution of benefits.
