Abstract

Cherry tomato have various colour, shape and nutritious fruit. The aim of this research was to make population for genetic selection and to know about xenia and metaxenia effect on tomato crossing. The crossing was assigned in dialel crossing combination with Ranti tomato, Cherry tomato var. Grape, Red Pear and Indigo Rose as a crossing parents. The crossing combination was Ranti x Grape, Ranti x Red Pear, Ranti x Indigo Rose, Grape x Ranti, Grape x Red Pear, Grape x Indigo Rose, Indigo Rose x Grape, Indigo Rose x Ranti, Indigo Rose x Red Pear. Parameter measured were crossing ability, fruit set ability, fruit ripening age, seed number and fruit shape. The result showed that Grape x Red Pear crossing combination had the highest crossing ability and Indigo Rose x Red Pear had the highest fruit set ability. Xenia and metaxenia effects were showed in fruit ripening age, seed number and fruit shape. Genotype of Red Pear x Indigo Rose was found as superior genotype candidate for ripening age, seed number and had highest percentage of fruit shape alteration. Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh sistem tanam serta dosis pupuk kandang terhadap karakter agronomi turi dan rumput benggala pada tanah salin. Salinitas tanah yang digunakan termasuk sedang, dengan daya hantar listrik 4,10 dS/m. Pupuk kandang (pukan) yang digunakan berasal dari ternak sapi. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan, rancangan acak kelompok monofaktor terdiri dari 9 perlakuan dengan 3 kali ulangan, yaitu monokultur turi tanpa pukan (M1); monokultur turi + 10 ton pukan/ha (M2); monokultur turi + 20 ton pukan/ha (M3); tumpangsari turi dan rumput benggala + 0 ton pukan/ha (M4); tumpangsari turi dan rumput benggala + 10 ton pukan/ha (M5); tumpangsari turi dan rumput benggala + 20 ton pukan/ha (M6); monokultur rumput benggala tanpa pukan (M7); monokultur rumput benggala + 10 ton pukan/ha (M8); monokultur rumput benggala + 20 ton pukan/ha (M9). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi pupuk kandang dengan dosis 10 ton/ha mampu meningkatkan jumlah daun, kadar klorofil a, kadar klorofil total, serta produksi bahan kering turi dan rumput benggala pada tanah salin. Sistem tanam tumpangsari mampu meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan lahan. Kata kunci : Agronomi, sistem tanam, organik, turi, rumput benggala.

Abstract

Mutation is one of a breeding technique to modify plant’s genetic. The purpose of study was to evalauate effect of gamma irradiation on M1 soybean variety Detam 3 based on agronomic characteristic at saline soil (2 dS/m). Gamma iradiation applied were 160, 208, 256, 304, 352, 400, 448, 496, 544, 592, 640 Gy. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, number of pods, weight of pods, number of seeds, and seed weight per plant. The results showed that 10 plants classified as moderate, 4 plants classified as tolerant, and 2 plants classified as most tolerant at saline soil (2 dS/m).Keywords: Detam 3, gamma, irradiation, saline soil, soybean.
