Abstract

This study aims to determine the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Learning Model on the Social Science Problem Solving Ability of Elementary School Students. The method used in this research is the method of Pre-Experimental Design with a One-Group-Pretest-Posttest Design research design. This study's findings indicate that the average post-test is higher than the pretest average of students' social studies problem-solving abilities with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. The average pretest value is 58.10, while the post-test average value is 75.40. Calculation of the hypothesis using the t-test, namely the paired sample T-test, and obtained at a significant level of 0.05 indicates that the probability value (significance) is 0.000. Because the significance of 0.000 <α = 0.05, Ho is rejected. This proves that there is an effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on solving elementary school students' social studies problems.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the learning activities of Social Studies students using the method of Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) through Media Lapatar (Experimental research class V SDN Anggdita III Klari District Karawang Regency) to increase the social skills of the elementary school students. The population of this study is all students of SDN Anggadita III of the 2019/2020 school year. The sample in the study was V C class as an experimental class of 20 students and VB as a control class as much as 20 students. Data obtained through tests. Data analyzed with test-T. Data analysis results show the social skills of experimental graders better than the control class.It is seen from the value of posttest social skill student class of experiments is 68.65 higher than the value of posttest social skills students in the control class is 45.9.The hypothesis calculation using test-t i.e. test paired sample T test and obtained at a significant level 0.05 indicates that the value of probability (significance) is 0.00. Because of the significance value, then Ho is rejected. This proves that the use of student teams achievement method divisions affect the social skills of grade V students at SDN Anggadita III.

Abstract

Along with developments in the current era of communication technology, the use of gadgets has penetrated into elementary school-age students, this has caused many concerning phenomena that have an impact on the behavior and speech that children imitate, one of the phenomena caused by content on YouTube social media is related to manners, such as following speech that is not politely spoken. The study aims to describe the influence of YouTube social media impressions that occur in elementary schools in East Karawang District, Karawang Regency using a descriptive qualitative approach research method. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation interviews with field note techniques and questionnaires. The results of this study found that students behave disrespectfully, especially in terms of speech, namely rude speech obtained from watching YouTube social media content that is not good. But on the other hand, the results of this study were found from watching positive YouTube social media, namely content that inspires students to do good such as conducting social donation activities to people in need. Thus, the influence of YouTube social media broadcasts on students' polite behavior is quite influential.

Abstract

Learning can run well and achieve the desired goals if students feel comfortable and not pressured and have high self-efficacy. Learning activities in Indonesia at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic had to be carried out through online or online distance learning, which had an influence on students' self-efficacy. During the research, MI Ar Rahmah, Bengle Village, Majalaya District, Karawang Regency, did not fully offline or face-to-face learning at school, so learning used offline and online methods. The learning model that can be applied in situations like this is the flipped classroom model. In learning using the flipped classroom learning model, it is expected that there will be an influence on students' self-efficacy. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of word square learning model on IPAS learning outcomes of fifth grade elementary school students of Lemahduhur II State Elementary School. This research is a type of quantitative research with a pre-experimental research design with a one group pretest-posttest model. The population used in this study were all students at SD Negeri Lemahduhur II as many as 194 students. The sample taken consisted of 25 students. The technique of collecting research data with Purposive Sampling. Technical data analysis to test the hypothesis was carried out by calculating descriptive and inferential statistics. The data was obtained from the pretest posttest results.  The results of hypothesis testing, there is a significant difference between pretest and posttest. This is obtained by the sig value. (2-tailed) for the test is 0.000 <0.05 then H0 is rejected. So with this hypothesis test shows that there is a positive and significant influence between the word square learning models on the learning outcomes of IPAS elementary school students.

Abstract

The low interest in reading among elementary school students is a serious challenge in education, especially amid the onslaught of digital media. This study aims to analyze the level of interest in reading and the factors that influence it among fourth-grade students at SDN Dawuan Tengah 6. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques were carried out through direct observation in class, distributing questionnaires to students, and interviews with fourth-grade teachers. The results of the study indicate that fourth-grade students’ interest in reading is in the [specify: e.g., medium/low] category. Supporting factors for reading interest include the availability of interesting reading materials and teacher support. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors found include dependence on gadgets, a lack of diversity in the book collection in the reading corner, and a lack of reading habits in the family environment. The conclusion of this study is the need for innovation in reading corner management and more interactive literacy strategies to increase students’ reading enthusiasm from an early age.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on the social science problem-solving abilities of elementary school students. The research employed a Pre-Experimental Design using a One-Group Pretest–Posttest design. The findings show that the average post-test score was higher than the average pretest score, indicating an improvement in students’ problem-solving abilities after the implementation of the PBL model. The average pretest score was 58.10, while the average post-test score increased to 75.40. Hypothesis testing using a paired sample t-test at a significance level of 0.05 yielded a significance value of 0.000. Since 0.000 < 0.05, H₀ was rejected. These results demonstrate that the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model has a significant effect on improving elementary school students’ social science problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Gadget use among elementary school students is an important issue because it may influence the quality of children’s social interaction. This study aims to describe the impact of gadget use on the social development of sixth-grade students at Sekolah dasar. The study employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that gadget use affects five aspects of social development, namely communication skills, cooperation, empathy, compliance with rules, and conflict-resolution ability. Students with high gadget-use intensity tended to be less active in face-to-face interaction, more passive in group activities, less confident in expressing opinions, and less sensitive to their peers’ conditions. Nevertheless, several students were still able to demonstrate positive social behavior when gadget use was supervised by parents and teachers. Gadgets may also support learning when used to search for information and access learning resources. Therefore, the impact of gadgets on children’s social development is dual in nature, depending on intensity, purpose of use, and the quality of guidance. This study recommends collaboration between schools and families to limit gadget-use duration and increase direct social activities in the learning environment. ABSTRAK Penggunaan gadget pada siswa sekolah dasar menjadi fenomena yang perlu dikaji karena dapat memengaruhi kualitas interaksi sosial anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dampak penggunaan gadget terhadap perkembangan sosial siswa kelas VI Sekolah dasar. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, angket, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan gadget berdampak pada lima aspek perkembangan sosial, yaitu keterampilan komunikasi, kerja sama, empati, kepatuhan terhadap aturan, dan kemampuan mengatasi konflik. Siswa dengan intensitas penggunaan gadget tinggi cenderung kurang aktif berinteraksi secara langsung, pasif dalam kegiatan kelompok, kurang percaya diri menyampaikan pendapat, serta kurang peka terhadap kondisi teman. Meskipun demikian, beberapa siswa tetap mampu menunjukkan perilaku sosial positif apabila penggunaan gadget berada dalam pengawasan orang tua dan guru. Gadget juga dapat mendukung pembelajaran ketika digunakan untuk mencari informasi dan mengakses sumber belajar. Dengan demikian, dampak gadget terhadap perkembangan sosial anak bersifat ganda, bergantung pada intensitas, tujuan penggunaan, dan kualitas pendampingan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan kerja sama antara sekolah dan keluarga untuk membatasi durasi penggunaan gadget serta memperbanyak aktivitas sosial langsung di lingkungan belajar.
