Abstract

Gelong Maro is a poem that is one of the oral literature of the Tana Toraja community. Gelong Maro has two unique aspects, namely in terms of pronunciation or delivery. Gelong Maro is delivered in a more upbeat and rhythmic rhythm so that the speaker can interpret or feel the presence of the Gods when singing maro poetry. Furthermore, the uniqueness of the spiritual aspect is Gelong Maro which contains expressions, prayers, and hopes that are very meaningful. Where the dancers chant maro poetry that aims to refuse reinforcements and can be a means of healing for the dancer or people who experience disease. The highlight of Gelong Maro is possession. The purpose of this presentation is to describe the meaning of personification in Gelong Maro as the oral literature of the Tana Toraja community. To understand the extent of personification, a qualitative study was conducted. The data source for the study came from the Gelong Maro video recording spoken by Tominaa Ne'Lumba. The techniques used in collecting data are listening and interview techniques. The results showed that the meaning of personification in Gelong Maro is containing disclosures that attach human traits to inanimate objects and abstract ideas and include the joints of Toraja people's lives.

Abstract

Folklore is one of the literary genres which is a cultural product of society and belongs to the community. As a cultural product, folklore contains noble cultural values that are upheld and respected by the people. The messages conveyed in the folklore contain character education values that should be emulated by the reading community. Therefore, folklore can be a vehicle for learning and character building in students that can be conveyed through literary learning. Literature learning must be able to generate and foster good moral values in students that can make students behave in an acceptable manner by the community. Literature learning must be able to develop critical, creative, polite, responsible, disciplined, respectful attitudes to students, both in relation to themselves, relationships with others, and relationships with worship. These individual, social and religious values can be found in folklore. Therefore, learning literature should put more emphasis on the appreciation of folklore to foster local wisdom values in students.Key words: folklore, literature learning, cultural character, student personality

Abstract

The Toraja ethnic has an oral tradition of Singgi' which is passed down orally from generation to generation. This tradition is carried out at rituals, which are spoken by tradition holders or groups of people. The study outlined in this article aimed to describe the Toraja ethnic culture represented in the vocabulary in Singgi’ speech. The focus of this study was to describe the cultural dynamic and the cultural attitude of Toraja ethnic represented in vocabulary in Singgi' speech. The study was conducted through a qualitative approach using hermeneutic analysis tools. The data of this research were speech in Singgi 'and the daily context and activities of the people of Tana Toraja. The data was collected through document studies, interviews, and observations. Through qualitative analysis and hermeneutic interpretation, it was found that in Singgi’ speech, there was an absorption of vocabulary from Indonesian and old vocabulary in Toraja. The diversity of vocabulary represented that in Tana Toraja society there was a cultural dynamic that requires the Toraja language to absorb vocabulary from other languages to convey the cultural messages. Singgi' speech used old words of Toraja language that were rarely used in daily communication to convey the cultural attitudes of the Tana Toraja people. The findings showed that the vocabulary used in Singgi' speech represented the Toraja ethnic culture. This finding has important benefits in preserving the culture of the Tana Toraja community, for teaching material in the development of character education, and as a reference in developing further studies.Keywords: cultural representation, Toraja ethnic, vocabulary, Singgi’ speechREPRESENTASI BUDAYA ETNIK TORAJA PADA PENGGUNAAN KOSAKATA DALA TUTURAN SINGGI’AbstrakEtnik Toraja memiliki tradisi lisan Singgi 'yang diturunkan secara lisan dari generasi ke generasi. Tradisi ini dilakukan pada ritual, yang dituturkan oleh pemegang tradisi atau kelompok orang. Hasil kajian yang diuraikan dalam artikel ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan representasi budaya etnik Toraja dalam penggunaan kosakata dalam tuturan Singgi’. Kajian ini memfokuskan pada pemahaman dinamika budaya dan sikap budaya etnis Toraja yang terepresentasikan pada kosakata dalam tuturan Singgi’. Penelitian dilakukan melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan piranti analisis hermeneutik. Data penelitian ini berupa tuturan Singgi' dan konteks perilaku kesehrian masyarakat Tana Toraja. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi dokumen, wawancara, dan observasi. Melalui analisis kualitatif dan interpretasi secara hermeneutik, ditemukan bahwa dalam tuturan Singgi’, terdapat sejumlah kosakata serapan dari bahasa Indonesia dan kosakata lama dalam bahasa Toraja. Munculnya kosakata serapan tersebut merepresentasikan bahwa dalam masyarakat Tana Toraja ada dinamika budaya sehingga mengharuskan bahasa Toraja untuk menyerap kosakata dari bahasa lain untuk menyampaikan pesan budaya. Dalam menyampaikan sikap budayanya, etnik Toraja menggunakan kosakata lama yang tidak pernah digunakan lagi dalam komunikasi keseharian masyarakat Tana Toraja. Temuan ini memiliki manfaat penting dalam melestarikan budaya masyarakat Tana Toraja, untuk bahan ajar dalam pengembangan pendidikan karakter, dan sebagai referensi dalam mengembangkan studi lebih lanjut.Kata kunci: representasi budaya, etnik Toraja, kosakata, tuturan Singgi’

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media wall chart dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan argumentasi siswa kelas X.1 SMA Negeri 1 Sesean. Manfaat dari penelitian ini (1) Sebagai acuan bagi guru bahasa Indonesia  untuk memperbaiki dan menentukan media yang akan digunakan dalam pembelajaran, (2) Sebagai bahan referensi bagi peneliti selanjutnya terutama yang menyangkut pengajaran bahasa Indonesia di SMA yang mempergunakan alat praga sebagai media pembelajaran. Populasi dalam penelitian ini ada semua siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Sesean sebanyak 285 siswa, sedangkan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas X.1 SMA Negeri 1 Sesean yang yang berjumlah 26 siswa. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan teknik tes. Sedangkan data dianalisis dengan teknik komperatif yaitu membandingkan variabel nilai yang diperoleh antara kedua kelompok, baik kelompok kontrol maupun kelas eksperimen. Selain itu data dianalisis dengan teknik statistik untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian. Adapun hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwa penggunaan media wall chart berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar menulis siswa kelas X.1 SMA Negeri 1 Sesean. Hal tersebut terlihat pada nilai t hitung yang diperoleh lebih besar di banding nilai t tabel (2,10 ≥ 1,711). Kata Kunci: Pengaruh, Media, Menulis, Karangan ArgumentasiThis study aims to determine the effect of the media wall chart to improve essay writing argumentation X.1 grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sesean. The benefits of this research (1) As a reference for Indonesian teachers to fix and determine the media that will be used in teaching, (2) as a reference material for further research especially concerning the teaching of Indonesian in high school who use the tool praga as a learning medium. The population in this study there was all class X SMA Negeri 1 Sesean as many as 285 students, while the sample in this study were all students of class X.1 SMA Negeri 1 Sesean totaling 26 students. Collecting data in this study conducted by the testing techniques. While the data were analyzed by using comparative comparing variable values obtained between the two groups, both the control group and the experimental class. In addition, data were analyzed using statistical techniques to test the research hypothesis. The results of this study is that the use of the media wall chart effect on learning outcomes of students' writing class X.1 SMA Negeri 1 Sesean. It is seen on the t value obtained is greater in the appeal t table (2,10 ≥ 1.711).Keywords: Effects, Media, Writing, Writing Arguments

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku ajar Bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). (1) Tahap analysis meliputi (a) analisis kurikulum; (b) analisis kebutuhan mahasiswa 2) Tahap design meliputi (a) materi pokok; (b) desain buku ajar. (3) Tahap development dilakukan dengan menyusun dan mengetik keseluruhan materi yang telah didesain berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan. (4) Tahap implementation merupakan tahap uji kelayakan penggunaan buku ajar yang telah disusun. (5) Tahap evalution dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi buku ajar yang dikembangkan untuk implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka yang meliputi hasil validasi buku ajar oleh dosen ahli materi dan ahli media, hasil penilaian buku ajar oleh dosen, hasil angket respon buku ajar oleh mahasiswa, hasil postes mahasiswa.

Abstract

Pa'katia is taught from generation to generation orally so it is feared that its authenticity will fade by the influence of the current era of globalization and information, because at present time pa'katia has rarely been performed at funeral ceremonies, especially in the Sa'dan-Toraja area. Because of this problem at this time, many people do not know the existence of the dance, while the public knows it, but many people do not know the meaning and meaning conveyed in the pa'katia dance. The type of research used in this study is qualitative research. The data in this study describe expressive speech in pa'katia verses at the rambu solo’ ceremony for the sa’dan area of Toraja using a semiotic approach. The data of this study is in the form of utterances in the pa'katia verses at the rambu solo’ ceremony. The data in this study was sourced from informants, namely pa'katia actors, traditional leaders, and the Toraja community. The data collection techniques used are observation and interviews. The data analysis technique used by the author in this study was to identify the utterances in the pa'katia verses at the rambu solo’ ceremony of the Toraja community. Then analyze and describe the meaning of expressive speech in pa'katia verses and explain the results of the study. This research shows that expressive speech acts in pa'katia verses at the rambu solo’ ceremony of the Toraja indigenous people contain the meaning of application for permission, condolences, praise, hope, gratitude, apology, respect, heartache, request, disappointment, resignation, conviction, and togetherness.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan fungsi komunikatif dalam bahasa slang remaja di kelurahan Tandung. Manfaat yang diharapkan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) menambah pengetahuan mengenai penggunaan fungsi komunikatif dalam bahasa slang remaja di kelurahan Tandung, (2) memberikan sumbangsi pemikiran tentang penggunaan fungsi komunikatif dalam bahasa slang remaja di kelurahan Tandung, (3) sebagai bahan acuan bagi peneliti dalam melaksanakan suatu penelitian. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik observasi, teknik rekaman dan teknik catat. Hasil penelitian tentang penggunaan fungsi komunikatif dalam bahasa slang remaja di kelurahan Tandung adalah fungsi informatif, fungsi direktif, fungsi ekspresif dan fungsi komisif.

Abstract

Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penanda kohesi iklan cetak obat-obatan dan kosmetik. Manfaat penelitian ini adalah (1) memberikan informasi lebih luas tentang kohesi kepada pembaca khususnya peneliti bahasa tentang wacana pada iklan cetak obat-obatan dan kosmetik, (2) memberikan sumbangan pikiran terhadap pengembangan ilmu kebahasaan, (3) menambah wawasan mengenai penggunaan penanda kohesi iklan cetak obat-obatan dan kosmetik. Jenis Penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Data penelitian ini bersumber dari Koran Kompas, edisi Januari –Juli 2012. Data penelitian ini hanya mengambil data utama (primer) yaitu semua penanda kohesi dalam iklan cetak obat-obatan dan kosmetik. Teknik pengumpulan data yang penulis gunakan adalah observasi dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penanda kohesi yang digunakan pada iklan cetak obat-obatan dan kosmetik adalah (1)Pronomina atau kata ganti, meliputi: (a) kata ganti diri; (b) kata ganti penanya; (c) kata ganti penghubung; (d) kata ganti penunjuk; (e) kata ganti empunya, (2) Substitusi, (3) Konjungsi, meliputi: (a) konjungsi koordinatif; (b) konjungsi temporal; (c) konjungsi kausal; (d) konjungsi adversatif, (4) Kohesi leksikal, meliputi: (a) kohesi leksikal dengan menggunakan pengulangan; (b) kohesi leksikal dengan menggunakan hiponim.

Abstract

The native knowledge of Indonesia, including the Toraja, is slowly fading as other cultures take over. As a result, promoting learning grounded in local knowledge through Bahasa Toraja's local content is essential. Examining the prerequisites for instructors and students to understand local content in primary schools is the goal of this study. In line with that, this research aims to define the teaching standards and learn Bahasa Toraja's regional components. This is necessary to fulfill its purpose as a venue for introducing and maintaining local wisdom and to make the previously unappealing and in-demand process of learning local material engaging. This research is of the mixed method type. This mixed-method research uses a sequential explanatory approach. This research was conducted for grade IV elementary school students at SD N 1 Kepe' for the 2021/2022 school year, North Toraja. Miles and Huberman's model was used to analyze the data, consisting of three key steps: data reduction, data presentation, and findings. The study's findings indicate that to increase the quality of the local content of the Toraja language to maintain Toraja culture and local knowledge, students' and instructors' demands in learning the local content of the Toraja language must be taken into account.
