Abstract

Abstract: Monotonous learning in elementary schools, teachers do not use a learning model to improve numeracy literacy in elementary schools. To overcome this problem, namely by using a cooperative learning model. Cooperative learning model is a learning model in which students learn and work in small groups collaboratively with 4-5 members with heterogeneous group structures. This service aims to find out how to improve the application of cooperative learning models based on local wisdom in elementary schools in order to increase numeracy literacy. This method is a participatory action study, namely the implementation of the method by considering the existence of a problem study stage by involving students in elementary schools, as well as looking for the most appropriate alternative solution in overcoming the problem. The result of this service is students' understanding of the cooperative learning model which can be seen from discussions and questions and answers. In addition, the results of this service increase students' ability to work together to improve numeracy literacy.Keywords: cooperative learning; local wisdom; numerical literacy Abstrak: Pembelajaran di Sekolah Dasar yang monoton, guru tidak menggunakan sebuah model pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan literasi numerasi di Sekolah Dasar. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut yakni dengan menggunakan model cooperative learning. Model cooperative learning adalah suatu model pembelajaran dimana siswa belajar dan bekerja dalam kelompok kecil secara kolaboratif yang anggotanya 4–5 orang dengan struktur kelompok heterogen. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana meningkatkan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif berbasis kearifan lokal di sekolah dasar dalam rangka peningkatan literasi numerasi. Metode ini yaitu kaji tindak partisipatif yaitu pengimplementasian metode dengan mempertimbangkan adanya tahap kajian masalah dengan melibatkan siswa di Sekolah Dasar, serta mencari alternatif solusi yang paling tepat dalam mengatasi permasalahan. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah pemahaman siswa mengenai model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning yang dapat dilihat dari diskusi dan tanya jawab. Selain itu hasil dari pengabdian ini menambah kemampuan siswa dalam bekerja sama untuk meningkatkan literasi numerasi.Kata Kunci : cooperative learning; kearifan lokal; literasi numerasi

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to: (1) produce teaching modules based on the Rayisah learning model that are suitable for use in learning English and (2) to determine the effectiveness, validity, and practicality of the teaching module based on the Rayisah learning model. This type of research is research and development that uses the RD model from Borg and Gall combined with the instructional design model from Dick and Carey. This research method has two stages, namelyIn the phase of developing and trial, the product must pass some validations and trial processes. The result shows that: (1) the assessment of instructional material experts is in the criteria of “very good” (82,94%), (2) the assessment of instructional design experts is in the criteria of “very good” (81,58%), (3) the assessment of instructional model expert is in the criteria of “very good” (94,42%), (4) the assessment of media experts is in the criteria of “very good” (85%), (5) the assessment of individual trial is in the criteria of “very good” (81,03%), (6) the assessment of small group trial is in the criteria of “very good” (90,09%), and (7) the assessment of field trial is in the criteria of “very good” too (92,08%).In the phase of testing the product’s effectiveness, the methode used is quasi experiment. 20 students are in the experimental class which were taught with a life skills based instructional model and 20 students are in the control class which were taught with a conventional one. The result of hypothesis testing indicates that there is a significant difference between the students’ learning outcome in the experimental class and the students’ learning outcome in the control class. This result is concluded based on the post test data processing in which tcount ttable (3.34 1.68) at the significance level of α = 0.05. Therefor, the life skills based instructional model is proper and effective used in learning English at training and course institute.

Abstract

Abstract: With the growth of technology and the development of globalization, the education sector is facing detrimental effects on students. As a result, students are less interested in reading books and are shifting to devices that offer various games. They tend to spend a lot of time interacting with digital media, such as social media, leading to a low interest in reading among students in schools, including at SMA Negeri 1 Sei Kepayang. This initiative employs qualitative data with a descriptive qualitative approach. This initiative was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Sei Kepayang by creating a reading corner to encourage students' interest in reading and develop their literacy skills. The reading corner is a special area in places like libraries, classrooms, or other rooms, and we utilized it by collaborating or combining the library with the reading corner designed to provide a comfortable atmosphere for reading activities. The reading corner has a positive impact on students' reading interest at SMA Negeri 1 Sei Kepayang before and after its establishment. With the reading corner, students are motivated to learn. The reading corner plays an important role in helping learners engage in enjoyable reading activities. It can serve as an effective tool to incorporate reading experiences into daily learning processes. Keywords: literacy, pojok baca, reading interest.  Abstrak: Dengan pertumbuhan teknologi dan perkembangan globalisasi saat ini, dunia pendidikan mengalami efek yang merugikan bagi siswa. sehingga siswa tidak lagi tertarik membaca buku dan beralih ke perangkat yang menawarkan berbagai permainan. Siswa cenderung menghabiskan banyak waktu berinteraksi dengan media digital, seperti media sosial, Sehingga rendahnya minat baca di kalangan siswa lingkungan sekolah, termasuk di SMA Negeri 1 Sei Kepayang. Pengabdian ini menggunakan data kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Pengabdian ini dilakukan di sekolah SMA Negeri 1 Sei Kepayang dengan menciptakan pojok baca. Sebagai upaya untuk mendorong minat siswa dalam membaca dan mengembangkan keterampilan literasi mereka. Pojok baca adalah area khusus di suatu tempat, seperti perpustakaan, ruang kelas, atau ruangan lainnya, sehingga kami memanfaatkan yaitu dengan melakukan kolaborasi atau menggabungkan antara perpustakaan dan pojok baca yang dirancang untuk memberikan suasana yang nyaman untuk kegiatan membaca.Pojok baca memberikan dampak positif terhadap minat baca siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Sei Kepayang sebelum dan sesudah .Dengan adanya pojok baca, para siswa termotivasi untuk belajar .Pokok baca memiliki peran penting dalam membantu peserta didik melakukan kegiatan baca ternyaman bagi mereka. Pojok baca dapat digunakan sebagai suatu sarana yang efektif untuk menyisipkan pengalaman membaca ke dalam proses pembelajaran sehari-hari. Kata Kunci: literasi, pojok baca, minat baca
