Abstract

The study entitled Implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in Efforts to Improve the Quality of Higher Education (Case Study at Gorontalo State University) aims to describe (1) the stages of implementing TQM in universities; (2) the quality of Gorontalo State University. The method of this research is qualitative with the type of case study research. Data collection is done by in-depth interviewing techniques to informants and documentation studies. Data analysis techniques through data reduction, data presentation, verification and conclusion. The results of the study were: (1) the implementation of TQM at Gorontalo State University was carried out systematically through the stages of preparation, planning and implementation. In the preparatory stage, universities carry out initial design or internal reinforcement to recognize the potential of Gorontalo State University. Higher education has prepared well to carry out TQM implementation well. At the planning stage, the university has developed a long-term plan for effective management, using the PDCA cycle, namely the plan (plan preparation), do (plan implementation), check (review and evaluation), and act (follow-up completion). At the implementation stage, management or university leaders have realized strategies and policies into action through the activation of the team and the implementation of quality management projects properly. Higher education has established a pillar or acceleration of quality improvement well; (2) the quality of Gorontalo State University as the ability of tertiary institutions to implement the tri dharma of higher education has jumps in quality achievement. The rector of Gorontalo State University has prioritized acceleration of accreditation to support the acceleration of the realization of Leading University. The quality of tertiary institutions has achieved a lot of strategic goals and consistent achievement has been marked by obtaining institutional accreditation (University Accreditatiton 2018) with A grades, human resources acceleration and increasing professors and doctors, assessment of governance through the ranking of tertiary institutions at 47th rank collaboration with the world's best universities that work together in research, community service, natural resource management, and cultural promotion. Abstract

Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Pembelajaran Tatap Muka Terbatas Terhadap Motivasi Belajar Siswa di SMP Negeri 1 Bulango Selatan Kabupaten Bone Bolango Provinsi Gorontalo. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan metode penelitian Survei. Data yang digunakan adalah data primer yang diperoleh dari penyebaran kuesioner pada Siswa kelas VII Smp Negeri 1 Bulango Selatan. Jumlah Penarikan Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebesar 40 responden. Teknik analisis data menggunakan regresi linear sederhana.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat Pengaruh Pembelajaran Tatap Muka Terbatas terhadap Motivasi Belajar Siswa Kelas VII Pada Mata Pelajaran IPS Terpadu SMP Negeri 1 Bulango Selatan Kabupaten Bone Bolango Provinsi Gorontalo.. Besaran pengaruh Pembelajaran Tatap Muka Terbatas terhadap Motivasi Belajar Siswa 46,4% sedangkan sisanya sebesar 53,6% dipengaruhi oleh variabel yang tidak diteliti.

Abstract

Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) merupakan usaha produktif yang dimiliki oleh badan usaha perorangan yang bukan bagian dari usaha menengah atau usaha besar. Peningkatan UMKM di masyarakat dapat diupayakan dengan melakukan pengabdian pada masyarakat. Desa Langgula merupakan salah satu desa di Gorontalo yang dijadikan lokasi pengabdian pada masyarakat. Permasalahan masyarakat di desa ini adalah tidak adanya fasilitas dan pemasaran produk hasil kelautan. Menanggapi permasalahan tersebut, maka dilakukan pendekatan pada masyarakat, penetapan program, dan pelaksanaan kegiatan. Adapun program yang dilaksanakan untuk pengembangan UMKM dari hasil kelautan menuju kawasan sentra UMKM yaitu melakukan sosialisasi pada masyarakat terkait diversifikasi produk hasil kelautan dan manajemen pengembangan UMKM, serta pembuatan lapak tempat penjualan

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the work environment on employee performance at the Agriculture Agency of Gorontalo Province. This study used a quantitative approach with the Ex-post facto research method. The data used were primary data obtained from distributing questionnaires to the employees of the Agriculture Agency of Gorontalo Province. The samples included 42 respondents. Data analysis applied simple linear regression. The results show the influence of the work environment on the performance of Gorontalo Province employees. The influence of the work environment on employees performance is 76,6%, while the remaining 23,4% is explained by other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

The results of the hypothesis testing carried out in this study, seen from the sig. of 0.000 0.05 indicates that there is an influence from the democratic leadership style on the performance of village officials, which means that the democratic leadership style influences performance in Pilobuhuta, Batudaa sub-district, Gorontalo district. Thus, the research hypothesis which states that there is an influence between the democratic leadership style on the performance of village officials in Pilobuhuta, Batudaa sub-district, Gorontalo district, is accepted in this study. Based on the results of testing the hypothesis in this study, it was found that democratic leadership style had a positive effect on the performance of Pilobuhuta Village officials, Batudaa District, Gorontalo Regency with a large correlation coefficient value as a sign of the closeness of the relationship, namely very strong and a large determination coefficient value as a sign of a large percentage level. the influence of the democratic leadership style variable on the performance of village officials is 52.5%.

Abstract

The present research aimed to determine the effect of the training program on the creativity of Karawo (Traditional Fabric of Gorontalo) embroidery motifs at UMKM (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) Serasi, Dulomo Selatan Village, Kota Utara Subdistrict, Gorontalo City. This research employed a quantitative approach with a survey research method. The data used were primary data obtained from distributing questionnaires to customers at UMKM Serasi, Dulomo Selatan Village, Kota Utara Subdistrict, Gorontalo City, with a total sample of 30 respondents. At the same time, the date analysis technique used simple linear regression. The finding revealed that the training program affected the creativity of  the Karawo embroidery motifs at UMKM Serasi, Dulomo Selatan Village, Kota Utara Subdistrict, Gorontalo City. The effect of the training program on the creativity of the Karawo embroider motifs was 20,0%, while the remaining 80,0% were affected by other variables that were not exammed in this research.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of career development on employee’s work productivity at the Department of Marine Affairs, Fisheries, and Agriculture of Gorontalo City. This study applied a quantitative approach. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and questionnaire. The samples consisted of 58 respondents. Data were analysed descriptively using validity test, reliability test, normality test, heteroscedasticity test, and simple linear regression test. The results of this study revealed that career development has an effect on employee’s work productivity at the Department of Marine Affairs, Fisheries, and Agriculture of Gorontalo City. The R-Square value obtained 17.5%, indicating that the variability of work productivity in the Department of Marine Affairs, Fisheries, and Agriculture of Gorontalo City can be explained by career development. Meanwhile, the remaining 82.5% is influenced by other variables that are not examined in this study.

Abstract

Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Pemanfaatan Media Internet Terhadap Aktivitas Belajar Siswa Pada Mata Pelajaran IPS Kelas VII di SMP Negeri 3 Biluhu Barat Kabupaten Gorontalo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Ex-post facto. Sampel penelitian sebesar 50 responden yaitu siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Biluhu Barat Kabupaten Gorontalo. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh Pemanfaatan Media Internet Terhadap Aktivitas Belajar Siswa Pada Mata Pelajaran IPS Kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Biluhu Barat Kabupaten Gorontalo. Besaran pengaruh pemanfaatan media internet terhadap aktivitas belajar siswa 66,6%. Dengan nilai t­hitung sebesar 9,782 dan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000.

Abstract

Fokus masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu (1) bagaimana strategi personalia dalam meningkatkan etos kerja pegawai kantor camat Kecamatan Suwawa Timur Kabupaten Bone Bolango?; (2) faktor-faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi strategi personalia dalam meningkatkan etos kerja pegawai kantor Camat Kecamatan Suwawa Timur Kabupaten Bone Bolango?. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi personalia dalam meningkatkan etos kerja pegawai Kantor camat Kecamatan Suwawa Timur Kabupaten Bone Bolango. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penellitian kualitatif dengan jenis pendekatan studi kasus. Prosedur penelitian dalam penelitian ini yaitu melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) dari beberapa indikator strategi personalia dalam meningkatkan etos kerja pegawai pada Kantor Camat Suwawa Timur yang paling menonjol yaitu indikator perencanaan dan pengembangan, hal ini disebabkan oleh perencanaan personalia yang dilakukan dalam mengembangkan kompetensi pegawai melalui kegiatan workshop atau pelatihan yang berdampak pada kualitas pelayanan terhadap masyarakat. Sedangkan Indikator kompensasi menjadi salah indikator yang perlu diperhatikan, mengingat terdapat oknum pegawai Kantor yang meminta imbalan jasa ketika ada masyarakat yang melakukan pelayanan seperti pembuatan kartu keluarga (KK). (2) Faktor peningkatan sumber daya manusia (SDM) menjadi salah satu faktor yang utama terlaksananya strategi personalia dalam meningkatkan etos kerja pegawai di kecamatan Suwawa Timur Kabupaten Bone Bolango dalam kualitas pelayanan terhadap masyarakat.

Abstract

Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Pendapatan Nealayan Terhadap Kesejahteraan Masyarakat Di Kelurahan Tenda Kota Gorantalo.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan metode penelitian Ex-post facto. Data hasil penelitian diperoleh dari hasil penyebaran kuesioner di 45 nelayan di Kelurahan Tenda Kota Gorontalo. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana dengan program SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruhPendapatan nelayan terhadap kesejahteraan masyarakat di kelurahan tenda kota Gorontalo. Besaran pengaruh pendapatan nelayan terhadap kesejahteraan masyarakat sebesar 40,8% sedangkan sisanya sebesar 59,2% dipengaruhi oleh variabel yang tidak diteliti.
