Abstract

Background : Obesity in adolescence associated with the incidence of metabolic syndrome. The metabolic syndrome is a group of metabolic disorders characterized by high blood pressure, high fasting blood glucose, high triglycerides, low HDL and central obesity. An increasing number of metabolic syndrome in line with the increase in the number of obesity. Based on RISKESDAS 2013 increased the proportion of central obesity from 2007 to 2013 by 18.8% to 26.6%. The prevalence of central obesity in Semarang 21.5%.Aim : Knowing the relationship among intake with waist circumference, fasting blood glucose level and blood pressure in obese adolescents in SMAN 9 Semarang.Method : This study was an observational study with cross-sectional design. Sampling was conducted randomized to receive 47 samples. The data collected is macro nutrients intake factors with 24 hours recall method, weight, height, waist circumference, fasting blood glucose level and blood pressure. Data was collected by the method of anthropometry; interviews, blood pressure measurement and fasting blood glucose level measurement. The correlations test using linear regression.Results: There is a correlation between intake with waist circumference (p 0.046 0.05) with a moderate relationship (R = 0.454) and contributed 20.6%, there is a correlation between intake with fasting blood glucose level (0.039 p 0.05) with the level of relationship is (R = 0.448) and contributed 20.1%, there is a correlation between intake with systolic blood pressure (p 0.004 0.05) with a strong correlation (R = 0.556) and contributed 30.6%, and there is no correlation between intake factor with diastolic blood pressure (p 0.113 0.05) and contributed 16.3%.Conclusion: There is a correlation among intake with waist circumference, fasting blood glucose level and systolic blood pressure. There is no correlation between intake with diastolic blood pressure.

Abstract

Background   : The use of banned dyes In making foodin general to give a striking color to food so that it can attract consumers to buy, but the trader was not aware of the dangers of using banned dyes.This is because the level of knowledge and attitudes of food traders are less related to the use offood coloring agents. Objective : Knowing the relationship between the level of knowledge and the attitude of market food vendors to the use of dyes that are prohibited in the Semarang city market. Method : This research is a descriptive analytic study with cross sectional design. Sampling uses cluster techniques to 8 market samples.The collected data are knowledge and attitude data with questionnaire and interview measurement tools.Data on the use of dyesusing the phenylhydrazine method. Results : Traders have knowledge in good categories (87,5%)while traders have the same attitude comparison between those who support and not support (50%)and the results of laboratory tests conducted by the university on August 17 showed negative results on the use of banned dyes but there were 2 markets using dyes that were not prohibited, namelyEritrosin. Conclusion   : All traders do not use dyes that are banned in cenil and putu mayang

Abstract

Background: the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria is one of the microbes that can causes gastroenteritis. This bacterium normaly was live as a human. The role of food handlers is very important in the existence of the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.Objective: to find out the relationship between education, knowledge and hygiene practice of food handler’s sanitation toward the existence of the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria on animal dishes at Shella’s Catering Semarang.Methods: this study used descriptive analytic with cross sectional design, the number of samples is 9 samples of animal dishes with 2 times repetition. Staphylococcus aureus can be identified by conductingan the MSA test. The data of education, knowledge and practice of food handler’s hygiene sanitation were collected using questionnaires through interview. The statistical test used Fisher's exact.Results: the knowledge and practice of food handler’s hygiene sanitation were categorized good (60%). The results of the bivariate test showed that there was no correlation between education, knowledge and practices of hygiene sanitation on the existence of the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria in animal dishes (p 0.05)Conclusion: there is no relationship between education, knowledge and hygiene practice of food handler’s sanitation toward the existence of the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria in animal dishes.

Abstract

Limbah popok dapat terurai dengan sempurna dalam waktu yang cukup lama dan bahkan dibuang ke sembarang tempat sehingga dapat menimbulkan pencemaran lingkungan. Sebuah inovasi diperlukan untuk menangani masalah limbah popok dan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan serta menumbuhkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pengolahan limbah popok rumah tangga. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental design melalui pendekatan one group pretest-posttest design. Rangkaian kegiatan meliputi pengerjaan pre-test, pemaparan materi dan penayangan video demonstrasi cara pengolahan limbah popok, sesi diskusi dan tanya jawab, dan pengerjaan post-test. Setelah pelaksanaan kegiatan didapatkan hasil bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan pemahaman peserta tentang pengolahan limbah popok menjadi pupuk yang ditunjukkan oleh kenaikan rata-rata nilai post-test sebesar 11,50. Melalui kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat membantu mengatasi pencemaran lingkungan akibat limbah popok.

Abstract

Indonesia is currently facing a "double burden of malnutrition" or double nutritional problems where on the one hand it still has to work hard to overcome the problem of malnutrition, one of which is stunting, while on the other hand the problem of excess nutrition is starting to creep up which leads to an increase in cases of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in the adult group. The objectives to be achieved in this activity are: Identifying the knowledge of adolescents, pre-marital, and identifying the knowledge of pregnant women about preventing stunting in toddlers, providing knowledge of pregnant women about preventing stunting in toddlers. The solution provided in dealing with these problems is by providing assistance in providing education as a guide for cadres, pregnant women, adolescents and pre-marital in preventing stunting using the Smart Guidance Module and Real Action. The smart guidance module in this community service is compiled as a reference in carrying out real actions to prevent stunting through real action. The methods of this community service are lectures, discussions, and direct practice. The results of community service obtained an average target knowledge, namely cadres, pregnant women, adolescents and pre-marital, increased. It is hoped that after community service, all parties can work together in stunting convergence
