Abstract

Latar belakang: Prevalensi balita stunting di Kabupaten Demak 2015 sebesar 29%, angka tersebut melebihi angka Jawa Tengah. Stunting akan menghambat perkembangan kognitif dan motorik pada anak balita dengan dampak negatif dikehidupan selanjutnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan determinan kejadian stunting anak balita.Metode: Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini data sekunder yaitu data Pengambilan Data Dasar (PDD)Politeknik Kesehatan Kemenkes Semarang. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian eksplanatif dengan rancangan cross sectional. Sampel 420 balita dipilih berdasarkan simple random sampling. Faktor risiko balita stunting antara lain  faktor gizi, fisiologis, penyakit, pola asuh, perilaku kesehatan dan sosial ekonomi. Variabel asupan energi dan protein diperoleh dengan Food Recall 2 x 24 jam, variabel jenis kelamin, umur ibu, tinggi badan ibu, diare, ISPA, penimbangan balita, pola asuh, sikap, pengetahuan, penggunaan garam beryodium, vitamin A, besar keluarga, pendidikan, pekerjaan dan pendapatan diperoleh menggunakan kuesioner dengan metode wawancara. Untuk mendapatkan faktor determinan menggunakan analisis regresi logistik.Hasil: Balita stunting sebanyak 33,1%. Dari best model, faktor yang beresiko untuk menjadikan anak stunting yaitu tinggi badan ibu ≤145 cm (OR= 2,5; CI= 1,057-5,022), pengetahuan < 80% (OR=2; CI=1,070-2,776), keluarga yang tidak menggunaan garam beryodium dalam rumah tangga  (OR =8,5 ; CI= 4,979-13,541) dan pendidikan ibu yang tidak sekolah (OR= 3,5; CI= 1,022-11,275).Kesimpulan:Faktor yang beresiko untuk menjadikan anak stunting yaitu tinggi badan ibu, pengetahuan ibu, keluarga yang tidak menggunakan garam beryodium dalam rumah tangga dan ibu yang tidak sekolah. Perlu dilakukan pengukuran TB secara rutin untuk memantau kejadian stunting pada anak balita di posyandu.

Abstract

Background: school age is a child growth period, so need to pay attention to nutrients and foods consumed safely. The adverse effects of consuming unhealthy and unsafe snack foods in schools need to be avoided, this can be done through health promotion. One of the ways in which students are not saturated in extension activities is to use puzzle games because the delivery of nutritional messages becomes more fun and involves participating students actively in the game. Aim: To know the effectiveness of nutritional education with the media of puzzle to the knowledge, attitude, and practice of students related to snack food  at SDN Tlogosari Kulon 02 and SD N Pedurungan Lor 1.Method: this research type is Quasi Experiment with design time series design. Sampling using random sampling technique to get 30 treatment samples and 30 control samples. Data collected are knowledge, attitude and practice. The statistical tests used Paired t-test, Wilcoxon, independent t-test and Mann Whitney test.Result: there was a difference of knowledge and attitude of treatment group after giving education with puzzle media (p = 0,000, p = 0,030). There were no differences in practice in the treatment group and the control group after the intervention (p = 0.492 and p = 0.203). There is a significant difference of knowledge and attitude between treatment and control group (p value = 0,011; p value = 0,016). There was no significant difference in practice between treatment and control groups after intervention (p value = 0.152).Conclusion: the provision of  nutritional education with puzzle media can improve knowledge and attitude of students about food snack

Abstract

Background : Hyperuricemia is a condition where blood uric acid levels above normal. The Puskesmas Tlogosari Wetan has 5 hyperuricemia patients. Although a little but still needed a treatment to prevent complications, that is with eating foods high vitamin c for reduce uric acid levels. Objective : to determine the effect of jelly drinks guava and orang juice to a decrease in blood uric acid levels at 40 years above. Methode :The research type was Quasi Experiment research and used Randomized Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The sampling is randomly, 17 treatment samples and 17 control samples. Independent T-test was used to analyze the differences of  blood uric acid levels between the treatment group and the control group. Results :  There were significant effect in blood uric acid levels (p=0.001) between treatment group and control group with decrease of 0,42 mg/dl and 1,58 mg/dl. Conclusion : Consumption of jelly drinks guava and orange juice for 14 days and nutritional counseling about hyperuricemia can lower blood uric acid level in 40 years above, statistically insignificant.

Abstract

ABSTRACT EFFECT OF PROMOTION OF EXCLUSIVE BREASTFEEDING IN CHILD GROWTH The effectiveness of exclusive breastfeeding promotion on increasing its duration and proportion has been revealed, but not on child growth. The objective of this article is to assess the effect of multilevel promotion of exclusive breastfeeding on child growth. A quasi experiment of the promotion with pre-post-test control group design was applied at Demak, Central Java Province. A total of 163 pregnant women and their families were participated. Children? growths were measured at 2, 4, 6, and 28 months. The results showed that weight for age z score overtime, weight gained at 2 to 6 months and weight for age z score of 6-28 months were improved. There was no significance different of slope overtime on (a) length and weight gain, (b) length-for-age, and weight-for-length z scores, and (c) under nutrition prevalence between the intervention and the control group. The multilevel promotion of exclusive breastfeeding could improve weight for age z score but was not found to growth faltering. It is suggested to do the same study but using gold standard randomized controlled trial considered confounding factors. In addition, the local government could adopt the method and material used in this study. Keywords: multilevel promotion, growth increment, z score

Abstract

In this report married couple tend to use modern contraception rather than traditional. The objective of the research was to describe the contraceptives methods of family planning among marriage couple. Methods was used nationally representative data from the Indonesian Demographic Health Survey (IDHS) 2017. This was cross-sectional household survey data, designed to be representative at the national, rural-urban, and provincial level. There were 47,963 households respondents targeted, from 33 provinces and 497 districts/cities. The data were selected from all households with currently married women age 15-49 years.  The descriptive analyze was used in this research. Results showed 53.95% of married women were currently using the modern methods of contraception and 6.64% traditional method while 39.42% were not using any method. Among women they prefer to using pill, implants, injections, and IUD than sterilization 11.62%, 5.02%, 4.18%, 4.17% and 3.74% respectively. Additionally, among men prefer used Male condom (2.33%) rather than Male sterilization (0.14%). In conclusion the unmet need of contraception is reducing and people are moving towards modern contraception instead of permanent methods, which in turn accelerates the improvement in women’s health.

Abstract

Background : Essential hypertension is the hypertension that is often experienced by adolescents (aged 13-18 years). Food sources of potassium has excellent potential to lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure. One of them is a soybean that has a potassium content of 1797 mg / 100 g which can be processed into cookies . Objectives : To determine the effectiveness of soy bean cookies to blood pressure in senior high school students of class X State 10 Semarang Method : The types of research is a true experimental Pre and Post Test Control Group Design. Number of subjects in the study of 20 persons. 10 persons the treatment group and 10 persons control group with a blood pressure of students who otherwise hypertension if ≥90 percentile according to age. This type of treatment given is the provision of a cookie soybean 100g a day , for 7 days. Statistical analysis used is anova repeated measure test. Result : In the treatment group there is a decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure before and after treatment has been controlled with potassium intake (p=0.000). A decrease in blood pressure after the administration of cookies soybeans is systolic blood pressure of 6.7 mmHg from 135.7 ± 5.16 mmHg to be 129± 4.94 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure 5 mmHg mmHg of 79.00±8.472 to be 75.00 ± 79.475 mmHg in the treatment group. Conclusion : There is a decrease in the effectiveness of blood pressure with soybean cookies s were statistically significant in Senior High School State 10 Semarang students hypertension. As an alternative choice of functional foods and effective in lowering blood pressure.

Abstract

Background  : One athlete's performance is influenced by the availability of blood glucose during exercise. Carbohydrate drinks can supply energy during training and matches. Giving drinks containing 6-8% carbohydrates before exercise can help maintain blood glucose levels and delay fatigue in athletes. Objective  : To determine the effect of guava fruit juice on blood glucose levels and muscle fatigue on athletes as a result of the Training of Salatiga Training Center (STC). Method  : This type of research is Design Experiment with pre-post test control group design. The number of subjects was 26 soccer athletes aged 15-17 years at the Training Center for Salatiga Training Center (STC) who participated in the study. Research subjects received an intervention giving 250 ml of red guava juice and water drink (control). Drinks are given 30 minutes mid-workout. Muscle fatigue using the Running Anaerobic Sprint Test (RAST) method. Blood glucose levels and muscle fatigue are measured before and after exercise. Data were analyzed by paired t-test.Results  : The average initial blood glucose level of the treatment group was 116.84 mg / dl and the control group was 122.34 mg / dl. The average blood glucose level at the end of the treatment group was 111.46 mg / dl and the control group 99.53 mg / dl. The decrease in blood glucose levels was greater in the control group by 22.84 mg / dl while the treatment group was only 5.38 mg / dl. The average initial muscle fatigue of the treatment group was 2.57 watts / sec and the control group was 2.46 watts / sec. The average end muscle fatigue in the treatment group was 2.13 watts / sec and the control group was 2.75 watts / sec. Increased muscle loss was higher in the control group.Conclusion  : Giving red guava juice to athletes during the match can reduce the decrease in blood glucose levels during exercise compared to the control group (p = 0.012). There was no difference in giving guava juice to muscle fatigue in the youth soccer athletes of Diklat Salatiga Training Center (STC) (p = 0.26).

Abstract

Background : Prevalence of obesity on 7th and 8th grade students of 40th Junior Highschool Semarang were 8,6%, while the prevalence of obesity in Indonesian adolescents were 2,5%. Obesity was caused by knowledge factor, physiology, activity, socioeconomic, psychology, and food and beverage factor.Subject : To analyze the great risk of knowledge factor include knowledge and attitude variables, activity factor include physical activity, sleep duration, time of watching television, and exercise habits variables, and physiology factor include gender and age variables on the incident of adolescent obesity.Method : An observasional research with case control design with ratio 1:1. There were 35 cases dan 35 control sample. Data collection were included gender, age, knowledge, attitude, physical activity, sleep duration, time of watching television, and exercise habits. Data was analyzed with chi square test and logistic regression with confidence interval 95%.Result : Logistic regression test showed that students were 14-15 years (OR 0.06 95% CI 0.008-0.557), students’ knowledge were 80% (OR 25.67 95% CI 3.57-184.60), students sleep 7 hour/day (OR 30.22 95% CI 2.47-369.26), and students excersise 3 times/week and 30 minutes (OR 13.55, 95% CI 1.145-160.476).Conclusion :There was a significant association between age, knowledge, sleep duration, and exercise habits with incidence of obesity. Further research is to examine risk factors of adolescent obesity with another variable and a larger sample is highly recomended.

Abstract

Background : The prevalence of obesity for adult women in Indonesia according to the National Riskesdas in 2013 reached 14.8%. Obesity prevalence in Indonesia has increased from year to year. Factors that cause obesity include consumption patterns, lack of physical activity, genetic problems, psychological factors, and social factors.Objective : to determine the relationship between consumption of vegetable fruits and fatty foods with obesity in housewives in Amongrogo Village, Limpung Batang District.Method : This type of research includes community nutrition with cross sectional approaches. The number of research samples is 65 samples of housewives. Data collected were BB, TB, fruit consumption, vegetable consumption, and consumption of fatty foods with the interview method using the Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency questionnaire. To find out the relationship between variables used Chi-Square test and Fisher Exact test with 95% confidence level.Results : the results of the study showed that obesity prevalence in Amongrogo Village was 46.2%. Fruit consumption per day is less than 2 portions, 61.5%. Vegetable consumption per day is less than 3 servings of 70.8%. Consumption of fruits and vegetables is less than 400 grams per day 67.7%. Consumption of fatty foods more than 6 servings per day 83.1%.Conclusion : the results of statistical analysis showed that there was no relationship between fruit consumption and obesity (p = 0.194), there was no correlation between consumption of vegetables and obesity (p = 0.900), there was no relationship between consumption of fruits and vegetables with obesity (p = 0.368) , there is a relationship between consumption of fatty foods with obesity (p = 0.004, RP = 6.56). It is recommended to hold counseling related to obesity and holding joint gymnastics or sports activities.

Abstract

Background  : Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by an increase in blood glucose (hyperglycemia) due to impaired insulin secretion, insulin work, or both. Results of Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) in 2013, it was found that the prevalence of DM based on doctor's diagnosis and symptoms increased with age, but from age 65 years tended to decrease.Nutrition therapy is a major component of the success of DM management such as a high-balanced diet of fiber one of them by adding fruit. Foods with high fiber can slow down digestion, absorption of glucose, cause full effects and can increase insulin sensitivity.Objective  : To know  the effectiveness of adding fruit to blood glucose levels (GDS) Diabetisi type 2.Methods  : This research is clinical nutrition research, experimental research with randomized pre and post test group control design. The sample of this study was patient type 2 diabetes in St.Elisabeth Semarang Hospital divided into 2 groups, 18 people as control group and 18 people as treatment group. Differences in the difference between the final GDS levels of the two groups were tested with Chi-Square Test in the hope that Ha was received if p 0.05.Result  : The final GDS result of the control group was 55.6% controlled while the control group was only 22.2% and Chi-Square test results showed  there was a correlation/effect of addition of 3 servings fruit  every day on blood glucose levels with p = 0.04 or p 0.05.
