Abstract

There were no practicum guidebook in Biochemistry hands-on activity at IKIP Budi Utomo, Malang city, East Java-Indonesia. The purposeof this study was to develop a guided inquiry-based biochemistry practicum guidebook for students of IKIP Budi Utomo. The development of guidebook followed the 4D-Thiagajaran model which has 4 stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The types of the data in this study were qualitative and quantitative. The qualitative data was obtained from the validator suggestions. The quantitative data was obtained through validator assessment scores and legibility tests. The instruments used to collect data included validation sheets and questionnaires. The results showed that the practicum guidebook validation percentages were 93.48% (material experts), 100% (learning media expert), and 81.5% (teacher) which were categorized as very feasible. It can be concluded that the biochemistry practicum guidebook is highly suitable to be implemented.

Abstract

ABSTRAK                Penelitian dilaksanakan bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi potensi senyawa metabolit sekunder tanaman rumput mutiara (Hedyotis corymbosa (L.) Lamk.) dalam bentuk esktrak. Penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan informasi yang lebih lengkap terhadap potensi penggunaan tanaman tersebut sebagai obat tradisional. Identifikasi komponen senyawa metabolit sekunder dilakukan dengan metode Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometri (GCMS). Hasil GCMS menunjukkan terdapat 20 senyawa yang terindetifikasi yang berasal dari golongan flavanol, monoterpena, triterpena, sikloterpena, seskuiterpena, fenolat, asam organik, flavon. Senyawa yang teridentitfikasi adalah: catechol, camphene, limonene, myrcene, pinene, camphor, cineole, geraniol, citronellol, gallic acid,   ascorbic acid,  β caryophyllene, β elemene, β farnesene, β selinene, apigenin, kaempferol, luteolin, catechin, betulinic acid. Beberapa fungsi penting senyawa-senyawa tersebut diantaranya adalah antioksidan, antibakteri, anti inflamasi, anti kanker, anti tumor, anti leukimia, hepatoprotektor, anti alergi, ekspektoran, hipoglikemia, hipokolesterol, antitusif, analgesik, kemo protektor.

Abstract

Pembelajaran mikrobiologi perlu lebih ditingkatkan harapannya mahasiswa dapat membentuk kepribadian mandiri, kreatif, dan objektif yang memiliki karakter (softskill) dalam penampilan, sikap, dan tingkat laku. Hasil observasi dilokasi penelitian diperoleh data sebagai berikut nilai rata-rata  hasil belajar mikrobiologi yang diperoleh dari mahasiswa angkatan 2012 sebesar 48 dan data nilai rata-rata metakognisi yang diperoleh sebesar 46. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah design dengan factor 4x2. Teknik analisis data hasil penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis kovarian (Anacova). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata nilai terkoreksi dari yang paling rendah  adalah control dengan pendekatan konvensional sebesar 63.102 kemudian disusul TPS sebesar  68.923, selanjutnya Reciprocal Teaching sebesar 71.587 dan TPS+RT sebesar 81.644.  Uji homogenitas varian antar kelompok data tidak berbeda atau homogen. Rata-rata nilai kemampuan metakognisi terkoreksi pada masing-masing model dari yang paling rendah  adalah control dengan pendekatan konvensional sebesar 53.546 kemudian disusul TPS sebesar 64.001, selanjutnya Reciprocal Teaching sebesar  71.479 dan TPS+RT sebesar 84.351.  Rata-rata terkoreksi dari 4 model diatas yang menunjukkan signifikan yaitu: integrasi TPS+RT berbeda nyata RT, berbeda nyata terhadap TPS dan berbeda nyata terhadap konvensional (control). Namun untuk model TPS dan RT tidak  berbeda nyata.

Abstract

The bioremediation technique for a contaminated liquid waste of heavy metals using indigenous bacteria is a convenient alternative to steps continues to be developed. The research aims to find out the effectiveness of an indigenous bacterial consortium in bioremediation of contaminated liquid waste by cadmium by ex-situ. Experiments were arranged in RAL made in ex-situ where a liquid waste industry was given five treatments, namely control and four indigenous bacterial consortia (A, D, E, and J) obtained from the isolation of bacteria originating from cadmium-contaminated of waste in Pasuruan district. Furthermore conducted observations of BOD5, COD, d.o. and Cd for seven days to find out the effectiveness of bioremediation. The results showed the four indigenous bacteria consortia have the bioremediation ability to reduce levels of cadmium, BOD5, COD, and increasing levels of DO. Indigenous bacterial consortia D has the best ability of liquid industrial waste bioremediation by ex-situ. Indigenous bacterial consortia J has the best of capacity reduction levels of cadmium, then the other of indigenous bacterial consortia.Keywords: indigenous bacterial, bioremediation, ex-situ, cadmium, liquid waste.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi Azolla sp dalam menurunkan pestisida buprofezin pada lahan sawah. Telah dilakukan penelitian yang dirancang terdiri dari dua faktor, faktor pemberian Azolla sp dan faktor periode musim tanam. Faktor Azolla (A) terdiri dari 2 level, yaitu tanpa pemberian Azolla sp (A1) dan pemberian Azolla sp (A2). Faktor periode musim tanam (B), terdiri dari 3 level, yaitu awal tanam (B1), pertengahan musim tanam (B2), dan jelang panen (B3). Semua perlakuan  dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali ulangan. Penelitian dilakukan pada dua musim tanam. Pengamatan buprofezin dilakukan pada musim kedua tanam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak ada interaksi antara faktor pemberian Azolla dan tahap tanam, namun terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pada kedua faktor tersebut. Azolla mampu menurunkan residu buprofezin pada awal tanam, menurunkan kenaikan buprofezin pada pertengahan tanam dan kembali turun pada jelang panen.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk menganalisis kandungan senyawa metabolit sekunder pada kulit batang tanaman Duwet (Syzygium cumini L) dengan metode Liquid Chromatograph Mass Spectrometry. Terdapat 63 senyawa metabolit sekunder. Lima senyawa dengan komposisi terbesar, adalah gallic acid, cuminiresinol, epiafzelechin, dan syzygiresinol A. Senyawa metabolit sekunder dalam kulit batang tanaman Duwet tergolong dalam 13 golongan senyawa, diantaranya adalah: fenolat, flavonoid, lignan, triterpenoid, gula, dan lain lain. Senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terkandung mempunyai aktivitas fitokimia penting, diantaranya sebagai antidiabetes, antibakteri, antioksidan, antihepatotoksik, antiinflamasi, dan lain sebagainya.

Abstract

Main objectives of this research are to analysis the increase in understanding biochemistry conceptscomprehensively caused by practice concept modification (Carbohydate-Enzyme) and analysis the efficiencyof practical activities caused by practice concept modification (Carbohydate-Enzyme). Research conducted inSeptember through November 2015 are analytical descriptive research, there are 80 students as respondentswere devided into 2 groups of treatment, namely group A as group with practice module that has not beenmodified and group B with practice module that have been modified. Paired t test result showed that groupwith practice module were modified to get the score of post-test evaluation better and significantly differentthan group with practice module that has not been modified. The validation result of practice module bystudents, instucture, material experts and media experts showed that practice module modified is eligible toused as practical module in the future.

Abstract

Location of observation results were obtained preliminary data the value of the results obtained from the study of microbiology student class of 2012 a number of 297 students with a range (86-100) of 20% or 60 students, students with a range of values (70-85) by 23% or 68 students, while the value of students under 70 sebasar 57% or 169. The purpose of this research is as follows: Determine the influence learning model Think Pair Share Reciprocal Teaching combined with the learning outcomes of students. The study design is a quasi-experimental design (Quasi experiments). Research data analysis techniques performed by using analysis of covariance (Anacova). The results showed the average value of the lowest corrected is control by the conventional approach of 63 102 followed by 68. 923 polling stations, amounting to 71. 587 the next Reciprocal Teaching and TPS + RT amounted to 81. 644. Test homogeneity of variance between different groups or homogeneous data. An average of 4 models fell from above that showed significant are: the integration of TPS + RT RT significantly different, real different to the polling stations and significantly different to conventional (control). But for TPS and RT models are not significantly different.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the response of microalgae community structure codominant and abiotic factors change Sutami Malang waters due to the addition of the detergent concentration variation in ex-situ. The experiment was conducted in September 2007 to March 2008. The addition of the detergent concentration consists of four levels, namely D0 (0 ppm), D1 (0.1 ppm), D2 (2 ppm) and D3 (4 ppm) of detergent to the water reservoir. Variable dynamics of microalgae abundance and abiotic factors waters observed simultaneously and periodically every five days for 40 days. The results showed that increasing the concentration of detergent changing dynamics of microalgae community structure codominant. Detergents suppress the growth Ceratium at a concentration ≥ 0.1 ppm. Instead detergent Synedra population increases until day 30 and stimulate the growth of Microcystis. During the 40 days of observation, abiotic factors change due to the addition of detergent concentration, especially the increase in conductivity, Total Organic Matter, phosphate, nitrate and surfactant. In contrast to lower CO2-free detergents and Dissolved Oxygen. Changes in abiotic factors significantly affect the growth of microalgae codominant.
