Abstract

Penurunan kualitas air sumur disebabkan adanya zat berbahaya berupa komponen organik ataupun anorganik. Salah satu kontaminan yang dapat menurunkan kualitas air yaitu zat padat yang dapat menyebabkan kekeruhan pada air dan adanya cemaran logam besi (Fe). Pemanfaatan biosorben alami cangkang kerang hijau merupakan alternatif dalam meningkatkan kualitas air. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan limbah cangkang kerang hijau sebagai penjernih air dan biosorben logam berat besi (Fe). Serbuk cangkang kerang hijau di aktivasi fisika pada suhu 500°C dan 900°C dengan variasi konsentrasi 0%, 10% dan 20%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan serbuk cangkang kerang hijau dengan konsentrasi 10% yang teraktivasi suhu 900oC paling efektif digunakan sebagai penjernih air dengan derajat kekeruhan 9,33 NTU efektivitasnya sebesar 84,5%, serta mampu menurunkan logam berat besi (Fe) dengan kadar <0,0131 mg/l efektivitasnya sebesar 97%

Abstract

Penggunaan bahan bakar Indonesia semakin meningkat, dapat menyebabkan menipisnya energi tidak terbarukan. Oleh karena itu, ditemukannya solusi untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut menjadikan biodiesel sebagai bahan bakar alternatif energi terbarukan dari minyak jelantah. Minyak jelantah sangat berpotensial untuk dikembangkan dalam pembuatan biodiesel, karena minyak jelantah termasuk bahan bakar minyak nabati yang mudah ditemukan. Dalam pembuatan biodiesel diperlukannya peran aktif katalis untuk menghasilkan biodiesel dengan kemurnian yang tinggi. Katalis CaO yang digunakan dalam pembuatan biodiesel diperoleh dari limbah cangkang keong mas (Pomacea canaliculata Lamarck) yang selama ini hanya sebagai hama pertanian dan pemanfaatannya belum maksimal. Biodiesel dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dengan cara melakukan preparasi minyak jelantah dan cangkang keong mas (Pomacea canaliculata Lamarck), transesterifikasi, penyaringan dan pengeringan, serta uji kualitas biodiesel. Tujuan penelitian yang dilakukan ini adalah untuk mengetahui suhu optimum dalam reaksi transesterifikasi dengan variasi suhu 50°C, 60°C, dan 70°C dan konsentrasi katalis CaO yang digunakan sebanyak 2%. Perbandingan rasio minyak dan methanol yang digunakan adalah 6:1, lama waktu pengadukan 90 menit, dan kecepatan 650 rpm. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan rendemen maksimum biodiesel yaitu pada perlakuan suhu 60°C.

Abstract

Keeping cats is one of the fun hobbies among the community, because cats are one of the cute animals and close to humans, besides that cats are able to reduce stress, anxiety and the risk of stroke. However, in the maintenance of cats must pay attention to diet and cleanliness so that cats are not susceptible to disease. Internet of Things (IOT)-based cat feeding device is a tool that serves to feed cats remotely using the web, many of them are cat keepers who are constrained in feeding because they are busy with their respective activities. This tool is expected to make it easier for cat owners who find it difficult to feed their cats, this tool can work automatically using the RTC module for timing of feeding and can also control via a smartphone web when adding portions, this tool can also add monitoring portions The rest of the feed in the container uses a Load cell, and takes a picture of the cat's condition with the camera then the image results and the rest of the feed will be sent to the web.

Abstract

The Cisadane River is a very important ecosystem for the people of the city of Tangerang. Its utilization has the potential to produce waste that can damage aquatic life so that it becomes one of the sources of the problem of decreasing water quality both physically and chemically. One of the efforts made to overcome the problem of Cisadane river water is to use water purifiers derived from natural materials so that they do not endanger health and can bind heavy metals. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding snail shells to the water quality of the Cisadane river in industrial areas, urban areas and slums in terms pH value, TDS value and Pb heavy metal. The experimental procedures in this study were snail shell preparation, Cisadane river water sampling, sample analysis before application, snail shell powder application, and sample analysis after application. The results of analys show that the clarity level of Cisadane river water ranges from 19 NTU to 59 NTU, the pH value ranges from 7.2 to 7.9, the TDS value ranges from 60 mg/l to 170 mg/l and the heavy metal content is 0.0047 mg /l. The conclusion of this research is that there is an increase in the level of clarity with the addition of snail shells by 45%, there is not visible effect of the snail shells addition’s on the pH value and content of Pb heavy metal. And there is an increase in the TDS value after adding snail shells.

Abstract

Cangkang telur ayam merupakan limbah yang dihasilkan dari kegiatan rumah tangga maupun industri makanan dan pemanfaatannya belum maksimal. Cangkang telur ayam memiliki kandungan kalsium karbonat (CaCO3) sebesar 98,41% yang berpotensi sebagai biosorben logam mangan (Mn). Mangan (Mn) adalah salah satu logam berat dan dalam jumlah > 0,5 mg/l air dapat berbahaya bagi manusia dan lingkungannya. Air merupakan kebutuhan dasar dalam kehidupan didunia sehingga kandungan kimia air harus terjaga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan adsorbsi limbah cangkang telur ayam terhadap logam mangan (Mn) pada air limbah sintetis dan untuk mengetahui penyerapannya dibanding koagulan kimia. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan preparasi cangkang telur ayam, pembuatan sampel air limbah sintetis, analisa sample air limbah sintetis sebelum diaplikasi, aplikasi cangkang telur ayam dengan konsentrasi 5%, 10% dan 15% serta koagulan kimia, analisa sample air limbah sintetis yang telah di aplikasi, dan analisa data hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata penyerapan logam mangan (Mn) menggunakan cangkang telur ayam berada di range 77,54%-89,13%. Konsentrasi cangkang telur ayam yang mempunyai daya serap paling tinggi adalah 10% yaitu sebesar 89,13%. Serta penyerapan logam mangan (Mn) menggunakan koagulan kimia lebih kecil dibandingkan cangkang telur ayam, yaitu sebesar 0,72%.

Abstract

Food packaging is the process of protecting a food product to maintain durability and quality consistency. Edible film made from porang tubers is a sustainable and innovative solution to reduce plastic waste and improve food preservation. Porang tuber (Amorphopallus muelleri blume) is a valuable plant as its high glucomannan content can be processed into porang flour. The drying process is one of the important steps in the preparation of porang tuber flour. One of the polysaccharides used in edible films is starch from glucomannan derived from Porang tubers. Glucomannan is an alternative material developed because of the high polysaccharide content in porang tubers, namely mannan, which has the ability to form a good film layer, good biocompatibility, biodegradable and has the ability to form a gel. This study was conducted with the aim to determine the effect of drying temperature on the results of edible films obtained, in terms of swelling and tensile strength values using porang tuber starch. The main stages of this research are the preparation of glycerol-plastized porang tuber flour solution and then the stage of making porang tuber flour edible film. In the manufacture of edible film, the drying process is carried out with temperature variations of 40, 50 and 600C. The highest swelling and tensile strength values were obtained in porang flour edible film at 50 0C, where the swelling and tensile strength values were 61.1% and 0.75 MPa.

Abstract

This article examines the implementation of the Quality Control (QC) system at PT Yakult Indonesia Persada as part of the Field Work Lecture (KKL) activities. The main focus of the research is how the company maintains the consistency of the quality of probiotic products through thorough quality control. This research aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the implementation of QC which includes physical, chemical, microbiological testing, and quality assurance of production equipment. The methods used are direct observation in the field and literature review related to food quality standards. The results of the observation show that PT Yakult applies the principles of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Total Quality Management (TQM) in an integrated manner in the entire production process. Quality control is carried out through Specific Gravity (SG), pH, and the number of Lactobacillus casei Shirota bacteria with a minimum standard of 6.5 billion per bottle. In addition, sterilization of production equipment is carried out in layers and validated through laboratory tests, and is supported by systematic recording of test results. These findings show that the QC system at PT Yakult not only focuses on the final product, but also covers the entire production stage. With this approach, the company is able to consistently ensure the quality, safety, and health benefits of products, as well as meet applicable food industry standards.
