Abstract

The teacher uses of the worksheet in a studying process are rare, but actually, the case is students may active through do worksheet during the studying process, which is by the low math test scores of students are the background of the research. The research aims to improve the mathematics student’s outcomes grade VIII Muhammadiyah Junior High School 2 Godean (SMP Muhammadiyah Godean 2) in an odd semester in the academic year 2016/2017 through using of student’s worksheet (LKS).  This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), implemented in the 8th grade in SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Godean in the academic year 2016/2017 on August 16, 2016, through to September 6, 2016. The subject of this research is the students of class VIII C, which consists of 32 students. Action performed in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. At the same time, the object of this research is the use of student’s worksheets. The data will be collected using observation and tests. The analysis data are used descriptive qualitative analysis.  The result of the research showed that using a student’s worksheet on the mathematics studying process could increase the student’s outcomes in every cycle. The first cycle average of the student’s outcomes of the end cycle test was 58,33 with the individual completeness on the first cycle was 25%. Whereas the average of the second student’s outcomes end cycle test was 65,56 with the individual completeness on the second cycle was 34,37%.

Abstract

The direct learning method's use affects students' passive participation in classroom activities, resulting in poor mathematics learning outcomes. This study aims to know the effectiveness of team assisted individualization on mathematics learning outcomes of grade VII students of State Junior High School (SMPN) 1 Ngemplak, Sleman Regency in the even semester of the academic year 2017/2018. This study belongs to quantitative research. This study's populations were six classes of grade VII SMPN 1 Ngemplak, Sleman Regency in the even semester of the academic year of 2017/2018. Random sampling technique was applied to take the sample of this research: grade VII students class B in the treatment class; class E in the experiment class using team assisted individualization cooperative learning; and class C in the control class using direct learning model. The research instruments used in this study were multiple-choice tests. The research instruments were tested using a validity test, differential test, and reliability test. The data were analyzed using a normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test for the prerequisite analysis, including t-test. From two-party t-test with  of significance level and  degrees of freedom resulted in . Thus  is rejected. This means that students' mathematics learning outcomes between those taught using team assisted individualization cooperative learning and direct learning.  A one-party t-test with a 5% significance level and  degrees of freedom resulted in . Thus  is rejected; it means that team assisted individualization cooperative learning is more effective than direct learning towards students' mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

    The result of low mathematics learning is associated with many factors. Numerical ability, learning and attention from their parents are some of the factors that were related to the students' mathematics learning outcomes. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine whether there is a positive relationship between numerical ability, interest in learning, and attention parents with mathematics learning outcomes eighth-grade students of SMP Unggulan 'Aisyiyah Bantul regency in Odd Semester in Academic Year of 2016/2017. The population in this research is class VIII SMP Unggulan 'Aisyiyah Bantul regency in Odd Semester in Academic Year of 2016/2017, which consists of classes that Maryam and Hafsah totaling 41 students. Research carried out the study population. The data collection technique using questionnaires to obtain data on interest in learning, and attention from their parents, as well as test methods to obtain data of numerical ability and mathematics learning outcomes. Test instruments research: validity, different power, and reliability testing. Prerequisite test analysis covering the normality test, linearity, and independent testing. Analyzed using product-moment and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there was a positive relationship between the numerical ability, interest in learning, and attention parents with mathematics learning outcomes eighth-grade students of SMP Unggulan 'Aisyiyah Bantul regency in Odd Semester in Academic Year of 2016/2017. This is shown by R = 0,5341 and R2 = 0,2853 with , with SR = , SR =  and SR = 50,0699 , SE = , SE =  and SE = .

Abstract

Mathematical learning models with direct learning used so far can be one of the causes of poor mathematics learning outcomes. One way to overcome mathematics's poor learning outcomes is by applying learning models that involve more student activities. Several learning models involve more student activities so that learning takes place more meaningfully for students, cooperative learning. This study aims to determine which is more effective between the Questions student’s Have (QSH) type of cooperative learning model and Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning model on students' mathematics learning outcomes. This study's population were eighth-grade students consisting of 7 classes, samples taken by purposive sampling to class, obtained by class VIII-G as experimental class 1 with QSH learning, and class VIII-F as experimental class II with NHT learning. The type used in this study is experimental research with a quantitative research approach. The research method is a post-only control design. The instruments used are post-test questions in the form of multiple-choice tests. Instrument testing uses the Validity Test, different power, reliability test, and level of difficulty. Data analysis techniques consisted of the initial ability normality test, initial ability homogeneity test, and comparing the average scores of students' mathematics learning outcomes. The study results obtained the average test scores of class G students' mathematics learning outcomes as experimental class I with QSH learning at 70.61. The average test scores of class F mathematics learning outcomes as experimental class II with NHT learning amounted to 59.70. There are differences in students' mathematics learning outcomes using the QSH type cooperative learning model with the NHT type cooperative learning model. The difference in the average value of the test results of the experimental class I with QSH learning and experimental class II with NHT learning was 10.91 with the average value of students' experimental learning outcomes of the experimental class I with QSH learning was higher than the experimental class II with NHT learning. This means that the Questions Students type cooperative learning model has more effective than the Numbered Heads Together type learning model of students' mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Based on the result of interviews and observations, I found the problem that became the reason for this research. One of that is the learning model commonly used in Muhammadiyah Junior High School 1 Yogyakarta (SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta) has not been optimal to create mathematics learning interaction of students. This research aims to determine (1) the presence or absence of difference in mathematics learning interaction between a student is taught using cooperative learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) type with students taught using direct learning model and (2) which learning model is more effective between cooperative learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) type with direct learning model toward mathematics learning interaction of students. The type of this research is quantitative research, using experimental design. The population in this research was the students of regular class VII in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta, even semester academic year 2016/2017. Research sampling done by random sampling toward class, selected VII F class as the experimental class, and VII G class as the control class. Technique data collection using the observation method. The prerequisite analysis test used a normality test using the Chi-square formula and homogeneity test using the Bartlett test. Data analysis used a hypothesis test using a t-test with a significant 5% level and degrees of freedom 61. Based on the results of the hypothesis, I test obtained  and . Because , so  is accepted. So, concluded that there is no difference in mathematics learning interaction between students taught using cooperative learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) type with students taught using a direct learning model. Because of the hypothesis, I obtained no difference, and then the hypothesis II test is not needed to continue. So, concluded that the cooperative learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) type is not more effective than the direct learning model.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Bantul diketahui bahwa siswa memiliki tanggung jawab yang rendah terhadap materi pembelajaran yang diberikan oleh guru dikelas pada pembelajaran matematika yang terlihat dari seringnya siswa tidak membawa buku pelajaran, kecenderungan untuk mencontek jawaban teman dan siswa tidak memperhatikan guru saat menyampaikan materi pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan tanggung jawab belajar siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Number-Head-Together (NHT) di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Bantul semester genap tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII C semester genap di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Bantul Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018. Objek pada penelitian ini adalah tanggung jawab belajar matematika siswa melalui model pembelajaran koopperatif tipe Number-Head-Together (NHT). Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini berupa observasi, wawancara, dan catatan lapangan. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar observasi, pedoman wawancara, dan catatan lapangan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Number-Head-Together (NHT) dapat meningkatkan tanggung jawab belajar matematika siswa kelas VII C di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Bantul Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan adanya peningkatan sebesar 18% sesuai dengan tiap-tiap indikator tanggung jawab siswa yang dari siklus pertama diperoleh presentase 62% dan meningkat pada siklus kedua mencapai 80%.

Abstract

 Learning by discussion among the group has been less effective, which makes low the mathematic learning results. The research aims to determine there are differences in mathematics learning outcomes between using model cooperative learning type Two Stay Two Stray and cooperative learning type Make a Match. And compare the effectiveness of model cooperative learning type two stay two stray and make a match in the VIII grade of Junior High School student of Muhammadiyah Boarding School Yogyakarta in the even semester academic year  2015/2016. This study uses a posttest-only control design. There is three class in the population of this study, samples were taken from two classes with random sampling techniques to the class. Data collection was conducted with the test model. The instrument used questions related to the subject of surface area and volume of the pyramid. Before analyzing data, there is a prerequisite test that consists of a normality test and a homogeneous test. To test the hypothesis in this study, the test was used one party with a significant level of 5%. The results of research on the significant level of 5% and dk = 64 indicates that: there are difference in the results of students mathematics leaning using cooperative learning model TSTS, and using cooperative learning Make a Match type. This is indicated by the value and  which mean and TSTS cooperative learning model is more effective than the cooperative learning model Make a Match type, against the mathematic learning student's results. This is indicated by the value and  which mean .

Abstract

Olimpiade matematika merupakan salah satu ajang kompetisi yang dilaksanakan oleh pemerintah. Olimpiade matematika ini meliputi empat level yaitu tingkat sekolah dasar, sekolah menengah pertama, sekolah menengah atas, dan perguruan tinggi. Pelatihan yang diberikan kepada siswa cenderung hanya digunakan untuk sesaat persiapan olimpiade dan pada tahun berikutnya belum tentu siswa tersebut yang akan mewakili sekolah untuk mengikuti ajang olimpiade. Oleh sebab itu, pelatihan yang diberikan kepada guru lebih tepat. Dalam penelitian ini akan dibahas mengenai analisis keefektifan pelatihan yang diberikan kepada guru tingkat sekolah dasar Muhammadiyah se-Kota Yogyakarta yang membimbing siswa bidang matematika untuk berkompetisi di level olimpiade. Keefektifan pelatihan ini diukur dengan seberapa besar perubahan nilai rata-rata kemampuan guru dalam menyelesaikan soal olimpiade sebelum mendapatkan pelatihan dan setelah mendapatkan pelatihan.

Abstract

Kesulitan belajar ditandai dengan munculnya hambatan-hambatan ketika belajar. Siswa kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah Ngemplak mengalami kesulitan belajar matematika. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui persentase siswa yang mengalami kesulitan belajar faktual, konseptual, dan prosedural matematika serta mengetahui penyebab kesulitan belajar matematika siswa ditinjau dari gaya belajar siswa. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 9 siswa kelas VIII D SMP Muhammadiyah Ngemplak tahun 2018/2019. Objek penelitian adalah penyebab kesulitan belajar matematika siswa yang ditinjau dari gaya belajar siswa. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan angket, tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar angket, lembar tes, pedoman wawancara, catatan lapangan, dan alat perekam. Keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa yang memiliki kesulitan belajar faktual matematika 62,96%, siswa yang memiliki kesulitan belajar konseptual matematika 53,09%, dan siswa yang memiliki kesulitan belajar prosedural matematika 25,00%. Penyebab kesulitan belajar matematika siswa yang memiliki gaya belajar visual adalah siswa kurang mampu mengingat materi yang diberikan secara lisan. Penyebab kesulitan belajar matematika siswa yang memiliki gaya belajar auditorial adalah siswa kurang dapat mengingat dengan baik materi yang dibaca. Penyebab kesulitan belajar matematika siswa yang memiliki gaya belajar kinestetik adalah siswa sulit mempelajari hal-hal abstrak.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan antara model pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing dan problem based learning terhadap hasil belajar matematika pada pokok bahasan himpunan serta mengetahui manakah yang lebih efektif model pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing dibandingkan pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap hasil belajar matematika.Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah Pakem tahun ajaran 2018/2019 yang terdiri dari 4 kelas yaitu: VIIA,VIIB, VIIC, VIID. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik simple random sampling terhadap kelas, dimana pengambilan anggota sampel dari populasi dilakukan secara acak tanpa memperhatikan strata yang ada dalam populasi. Sehingga sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIA yang diberikan perlakuan dengan problem based learning dan VIID diberikan perlakuan dengan penemuan terbimbing. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan melalui tes dengan jenis tes yang digunakan yaitu pilihan ganda. Pengujian instrument dengan menggunakan uji validitas, daya pembeda dan reliabilitas. Teknik analisis data melalui uji prasyarat analisis yaitu uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas, serta uji hipotesis satu pihak dan uji hipotesis dua pihak.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pada taraf signifikan 5% dan derajat kebebasan 73 diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa nilai tes hasil uji-t dua pihak diperoleh thitung = -0,1848 dan ttabel = 1,6660 yang berarti H0 diterima dan H1 ditolak sehingga tidak ada perbedaan signifikan pembelajaran matematika yang menggunakan model pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing dan problem based learning pada siswa SMP Muhammadiyah Pakem Kabupaten Sleman Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019, serta model pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing dan problem based learning memiliki tingkat efektif yang sama terhadap kelas eksperimen 1 dan kelas eksperimen 2.
