Abstract

This study aims to examine the values of Islamic education in the book Nasāʾihul ‘Ibād and its relevance to the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) material in the Independent Curriculum for high school level. Islamic Religious Education plays a very important role in shaping the character of students, especially amidst the current moral crisis. The book Nasāʾihul ‘Ibād by Sheikh Nawawi al-Jawi contains the values of faith, sharia, and morals that are relevant to current educational challenges. The method used is a qualitative approach with a Systematic Literature Review approach. The results of the study indicate that the values in Nasāʾihul ‘Ibād include faith, obedience, five daily prayers in congregation, fasting, honesty, humility, social concern, avoiding reprehensible morals, and cultivating good morals. It is relevant to the dimensions of Islamic educational values in the independent curriculum, such as piety, noble character, and independence. This book has the potential to be used as an additional reference in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning oriented towards the formation of Islamic and moderate character. The relevance between the two is as follows: relevance in terms of aqidah values is that both share a similarity in emphasizing active and productive faith in social life. Relevance in terms of sharia values is that both are aligned in emphasizing that Islamic sharia teachings must shape the character and social responsibility of students. Meanwhile, relevance in terms of moral values is that both sources aim to shape individuals with noble character, able to live harmoniously in society, and possess a high social awareness, while avoiding bad morals.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of the mentor's exemplary behavior on the character formation of male students at the Hidayatul Qur'an Dormitory of Darul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Jombang. The purpose of this study is to determine how much influence the mentor's exemplary behavior has on the character formation of students, including the importance of character for students' lives and the influence of mentor's exemplary behavior. Using a random sampling technique method of 10% of the total population, 85 students were obtained from a population of 555 male students, data were collected through documentation, observation and Likert scale questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out using percentages and simple linear regression. The results show that the influence of the mentor's exemplary behavior is classified as "GOOD" (77.29%) and the character formation of students is classified as "GOOD" (81%). For the results of simple linear regression in the table, the significance value (p) is 0.000 which is smaller than the significance level of 0.05. Thus, HO is rejected and Ha is accepted, indicating that the mentor's exemplary behavior significantly contributes to the character development of male students at the Hidayatul Qur'an Dormitory at the Darul Ulum Islamic Boarding School in Jombang.

Abstract

Departing from an urban community which incidentally is a modern society, call it the city of Surabaya, as a modern society, of course, cannot be separated from the sophistication of technology that is all young and efficient, the dynamics of which are accelerating where globalization is moving very rapidly, so that people forget As a result of the luxurious, hedonistic lifestyle that is rife in the Surabaya environment, several community groups are finally looking for an atmosphere that forms their spiritual calm, many classes of society following recitations with Sufism nuances, its existence is widely found in mosques, religious institutions in the Surabaya environment, therefore an interesting phenomenon related to the Awakening of Spirituality in Surabaya. This study uses a Qualitative-Descriptive Research methodology with a participant phenomenology approach, exploring and observing their attitudes and perspectives in navigating life in today's modern era. A contribution of this research is to be able to provide an immunity to institutions, both formal and non-formal, especially in urban communities
