Abstract

Introduction. The spread of the infodemic during the COVID-19 pandemic prompted the need for e-literacy to counteract the negative impacts it had. This study aims to describe how students apply e-literacy in response of infodemic on social media. Data Collection Methods. This research is a qualitative research using a phenomenological approachthrough interviews. The four informants of this study are students of Library Science at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Data Analysis. Data analysis was conducted by reducing the results of the interviews, coding, then connecting themes and descriptions, and interpreting them. Results and Discussion. In communicating infodemic, students apply e-literacy by operating laptops and mobile phones in accessing information; find, evaluate, and use information according to their needs; consider ethics, religion, and social norms in communication; access, analyze, evaluate, and create infodemic content on social media; as well as being able to absorb information, transform and create new ideas. Conclusion. Library Science students are able to apply e-literacy in communication on social media, both in consuming and producing information related to COVID-19. Research on e-literacy aside from the infodemic and post-pandemic needs to be carried out to see the results of e-literacy implementation.

Abstract

For Generation Z, especially those who study librarianship in the digital age, e-literacy is essential. It refers to using a computer with information, media, moral literacy, and learning and thinking abilities. One of them is how they communicate COVID-19 information. Through the behavior of librarianship students from the seven State Islamic Universities in Indonesia, this study aims to measure the impact of e-literacy on prophetic-humanization communication among Generation Z. With a 9% error rate and a sample size of 116 pupils, stratified random sampling (proportional) was used to acquire the data. The findings strongly correlate information usage behavior, prophetic-humanization communication, and e-literacy. In addition, e-literacy impacts prophetic communication by changing how people use COVID-19 data. Only the level of learning and thinking abilities can fully demonstrate the good and significant impact of e-literacy skills through information behavior on humanization-prophetic communication. This study's relevance is that students should increase their e-literacy to communicate more prophetically and ethically using electronic media.

Abstract

This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of Qur’anic bibliotherapy research trends indexed in Google Scholar from 2013 to 2023. Employing a descriptive quantitative approach, 53 articles were retrieved using the Publish or Perish application and analyzed with VOSviewer and ATLAS.ti to map authorship patterns, keyword clusters, and thematic developments. The findings reveal several dominant themes, including “Qur’an,” “anxiety,” “bibliotherapy,” and “depression,” while topics such as “teaching,” “attitude,” “impact,” and “child” remain relatively underexplored. The analysis also shows a steady increase in publication output over the decade, suggesting growing scholarly interest in the use of Qur’anic narratives as therapeutic interventions. This study underscores the value of bibliometric mapping for identifying research gaps and guiding future inquiry in Qur’anic bibliotherapy. By organizing existing knowledge, the research contributes to the development of more effective therapeutic practices and supports the integration of Qur’anic principles into mental health care.

Abstract

Background: The low reading interest of Indonesian society remains a crucial problem in the era of rapid development of digital information flow. Reading communities are an alternative that can be used to overcome this problem because within the community there is social capital that can be utilized by its members. One community that shows a high social capital is Jakarta Book Party Community. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of social capital consisting of norms, trust, and social networks on the reading interest of Jakarta Book Party Community participants. Methods: This study uses a quantitative approach with a data collection method through the distribution of questionnaires to 91 samples who are active participants in Jakarta Book Party activities. Results: The results of this study indicate that partially the trust variable (b = 1.193; sig. = 0.000) and the social network variable (b = 0.795; sig. = 0.000) have a positive and significant effect on reading interest, while the norm variable (b = -1.032; sig. = 0.000) actually has a negative and significant effect on reading interest. Meanwhile, simultaneously, the variables of norms, trust, and social networks (F count 112.955 > F table 2.71; sig. = 0.000 < 0.05) have a significant influence on the reading interest of Jakarta Book Party participants. Conclusion: This research confirms that trust and social networks have a significant and positive influence on the reading interest of Jakarta Book Party participants, norms have a significant and negative influence on the reading interest of Jakarta Book Party participants.

Abstract

Background of the study: Understanding how differences in institutional background and information literacy influence students’ attitudes and practices toward religious moderation in media is essential. Purpose: To examine the comparison of religious moderation among Library Science students in Islamic religious universities (PTKI) and public universities (PTU) in Indonesia, focusing on the role of information literacy. Method: A quantitative approach was used, involving 94 students from four universities recruited through an online survey. The data collected were analyzed using Jamovi. Findings: There is a positive relationship between information literacy and religious moderation, with higher information literacy associated with greater religious moderation. The impact of Information Literacy is more significant in PTKI, as seen from the steeper slope of the regression line. This could indicate that, in PTKI, information literacy plays a significant role in shaping religious moderation. PTU students exhibit higher levels of religious moderation at lower levels of information literacy, which could be due to other factors, such as educational background or social environment. Conclusion: Different approaches may be needed for PTKI and PTU to improve religious moderation through information literacy. Further research is required to understand other factors that influence this relationship, such as curriculum, student mindset, or sources of information accessed.
