Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan strategi pemecahan masalah mahasiswa berkemampuan fisika tinggi dan sedang dalam menyelesaikan soal mekanika fluida. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa yang menempuh mata kuliah mekanika fluida. Pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan wawancara, tes mekanika fluida dan tes kemampuan fisika. Tes kemampuan fisika digunakan untuk mengelompokkan tingkatan kemampuan fisika mahasiswa tinggi dan sedang bedasarkan kriteria nilai hasil tes kemampuan fisika mahasiswa. Sedangkan strategi pemecahan masalah ditentukan dari hasil jawaban mahasiswa terhadap 4 soal mekanika fluida yang diberikan dan wawancara yang kemudian dianalisis dengan rubrik identifikasi strategi pemecahan masalah (epistemic game). Hasil analisis tes pertama menunjukkan strategi pemecahan masalah yang digunakan dalam menyelesaikan masalah adalah mapping mathematics to meaning dengan level relational dan transliteration to mathematics dengan level multistructural. Pada tes kedua, mahasiswa menggunakan pictorial analysis dengan level extended abstract dan transliteration to mathematics dengan level relational dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Sedangkan mahasiswa menyelesaikan masalah pada tes ketiga dengan menggunakan mapping mathematics to meaning dengan level relational dan recursive plug and chug dengan level relational. Mahasiswa menggunakan recursive plug and chug dengan level relational dan transliteration to mathematics dengan level relational dalam menyelesaiakn test keempat. Strategi pemecahan masalah dari penelitian ini nantinya dapat digunakan untuk menentukan strategi atau model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan pembelajaran konsep materi.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the students’ epistemic game of high physics-capable. This study is qualitative. The participants are students taking fluid mechanics courses. The collect data of this study use fluid mechanics test, physics understanding test, and interview. The understanding test determines the students’ understanding level, while the determining students’ epistemic game by SOLO taxonomy uses the fluid mechanic's test. The students complete the first test by using mapping mathematics to meaning at a relational level and transliteration to mathematics at a multi structural level. Pictorial analysis in level extended abstract and transliteration to mathematics in level relational are used by the students in completing the problem of the second test. Meanwhile, this study result showed that mapping mathematics to the meaning and recursive plug and chug at a relational level is used by the students for completing the third test. Furthermore, the students completing the fourth test used transliteration to mathematics and recursive plug and chug at a relational level The students’ epistemic game by SOLO taxonomy of this study can be used to develop physics learning.Keywords: epistemic game, SOLO taxonomy, fluid mechanicsDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpf.v8.n2.202005

Abstract

The students need a learning strategy that is compatible to develop electrical circuit problems completion. Additionally, problem-solving strategy (epistemic game) will develop a learning process that can stimulate the completion of physics. This case encourages the researcher to determine the epistemic game of moderate physics-capable students in solving electrical circuit problems. Moreover, it is qualitative research, and the participant of the research is the students who learn the electrical circuit. Moderate physics-capable students (4 moderately capable students out of 13 students) based on their physics understanding test results. Test and interview were used by the researcher to collect data. The test consists of a physics understanding test and an electrical circuit test. The physics understanding test is used to determine the level of students’ physics understanding, while the electrical circuit test is used to determine students’ epistemic games to solve the problems. The research finding showed the epistemic game of moderate physics-capable students was obtained from the analysis result of the electrical circuit test and interview. The analysis result of the first test, the second test, the third test, and the seventh test showed that the game used to solve problems was transliteration to mathematics. Meanwhile, the students used mapping mathematics to meaning and transliteration to mathematics to solve the problems in the fourth test. The analysis result of the fifth test and the eight test showed that the students used mapping mathematics to meaning to solve the problems. Furthermore, the sixth test was completed by mapping meaning to mathematics.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui strategi pemecahan masalah siswa pada pretest konsep materi kalor, dan mengetahui pengaruh strategi pemecahan masalah siswa terhadap penguasaan konsep materi kalor. Penelitian ini menggunakan embededded design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X MIA 4 SMAN 3 Malang yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merupakan tes uraian konsep materi kalor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pemecahan masalah yang siswa lakukan dalam menyelesaikan masalah pada soal penguasaan konsep materi kalor adalah mapping mathematics to meaning, physical mechanism game, pictorial analysis, dan transliteration to mathematics. Hal ini mempengaruhi nilai rata-rata penguasaan konsep materi kalor. Nilai rata-rata penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi kalor pada pretest masih tergolong rendah dan masih banyak terdapat miskonsepsi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui perubahan pola berpikir mahasiswa setelah mengikuti kegiatan diskusi. Pola berpikir dalam penelitian digunakan siswa untuk menerapkan pengetahuan yang dimiliki untuk menyelesaikan fenomena kalor secara konveksi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi fenomenologi pola berpikir mahasiswa pada fenomena perpindahan panas secara konveksi. Konteks  atau subjek penelitian merupakan mahasiswa yang mengikuti matakuliah Perpindahan Panas II. Data yang dikumpulkan bersifat deskriptif kualitatif, yaitu penjelasan secara aktual pola berpikir mahasiswa pada fenomena perpindahan panas secara konveksi. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes tertulis fenomena perpindahan panas secara konveksi. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui tes sebelum kegiatan diskusi, observasi, wawancara, dan tes setelah kegiatan diskusi. Analisis data dilakukan mengikuti teknik analisis data kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perubahan pola berpikir mahasiswa sebelum dan setelah diskusi dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan. Pola berpikir yang mengalami penurunan perkembangan adalah pola berpikir logis dan pola berpikir kritis. The research aimed to determine the change in student ’s thinking pattern after following discussion activity. The thinking pattern was used by students to apply their ability for finishing the phenomenon of convection heat transfers. This research used qualitative approach be the phenomenological research method of student’s thinking pattern of convection heat transfer phenomenon. The qualitatively descriptive data were collected be the actual explanation of student’s thinking pattern of convection heat transfer phenomenon. The technic of collecting data was obtained by test before discussion activity, observation, interview and test after discussion. The data analysis followed the technic of the qualitative data analysis. The results showed that the change of student’s thinking pattern before and after discussion activity of problem-solving. The thinking pattern experienced the developed reduction of logical thinking and critical thinking patterns.

Abstract

Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui strategi pemecahan masalah dan penguasaan konsep materi kalor setelah pembelajaran fisika melalui integral learning. Strategi pemecahan masalah dalam penelitian ini merupakan proses kognitif yang terjadi selama memecahkan masalah dalam penguasaan konsep. Penelitian ini menggunakan embedded design. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 30 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes penguasaan konsep dan wawancara. Tes penguasaan konsep terdiri atas 7 butir soal uraian untuk mengetahui strategi pemecahan masalah dan penguasaan konsep siswa setelah materi diberikan. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan sequential data collection. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari data nilai tes penguasaan konsep. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari data strategi pemecahan masalah  siswa pada tes. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini mengacu pada sequential data analysis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pemecahan masalah yang siswa lakukan dalam menyelesaikan masalah pada tujuh soal penguasaan konsep materi kalor setelah penerapan integral learning, siswa melakukan mapping mathematics to meaning, physical mechanism game, recursive plug and chug, dan transliteration to mathematics.

Abstract

The final semester examination is a routine agenda for each semester for the Program Studi Sistem Informasi Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri. In the implementation of the final semester exams, some of the supporting documents are the exam schedule, minutes of the exam and the list of attendees of the exam. In the minutes of the exam and the attendance list, some entries must be written by the supervisor. Some of the fields include data on day, date, exam time, exam room, course name, lecturer, class and supervisor's name. Each of these documents is made in 2 copies, so that the filling process can take up the time of the supervisor when carrying out supervisory duties. When examined, some of the entries are actually already in the exam schedule, just how to make the data contained in the schedule can be integrated to complete the fields. This problem exists because there is no system or database that is the basis for making these documents. This study aims to provide a solution by building an information system that helps produce final semester exam support documents, such as exam schedules, minutes of the exam and attendance list of participants, using the PHP programming language and MySQL database support so that the process of making these documents is done systematic and automatic system. The results of the study indicate that with the Information System Supporting the Semeste Final Examination Document, the making of documents can be done in an integrated manner, so that some of the entries no longer need to be handwritten anymore. In the end, the documents produced by the system can save writing time faster.

Abstract

The students’ thinking process in completing problems is able to show epistemic game. SOLO taxonomy is used to categorize the students’ thinking process. The researcher to collect data use test and interview. The test is consisted of fluid mechanics test and physics understanding test. Physics understanding test is used to determine the level of students’ physics understanding, while the fluid mechanics test is used to determine students’ epistemic game by SOLO taxonomy to solve the problems. The analysis result of the first test showed that the game used to solve problems was mapping mathematics to meaning in relational level and transliteration to mathematics in multistructural level. In the second test, the students used pictorial analysis in extended abstract level and transliteration to mathematics level in relational in solving problems. Meanwhile, the students used mapping mathematics to meaning in relational level, and recursive plug and chug in relational level to solve the problems in the third test. Furthermore, the fourth test was completed by recursive plug and chug in relational level. Epistemic game by SOLO taxonomy of this research can be used to determine learning strategy or model which is compatible with learning material concepts.

Abstract

Alat PILOT adalah alat pencuci gelas otomatis yang merupakan pengembangan pengaplikasian hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan oleh tim Teknik Elektronika Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri. Hasil dari penelitian alat PILOT menunjukkan adanya kemudahan yang cukup signifikan bagi kecepatan dan keefektivan proses pencucian gelas beserta waktu yang diperlukan. Mengacu pada hasil tersebut, maka pada program pengabdian kepada masyarakat kali ini, kami melaksanakan pelatihan perancangan dan pengaplikasian alat PILOT kepada masyarakat. Adapun sasaran dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat mengenai alat PILOT ini adalah para pengusaha makanan dan minuman yang memang membutuhkan kecepatan dan keefektivan dalam pencucian gelas mengingat pada jam tertentu biasanya para pelanggan datang dalam waktu yang bersamaan untuk makan dan minum di tempat tersebut. Mitra pertama yaitu pengusaha makanan bakso, dan mitra kedua yaitu pengusaha kedai es krim. Adapun teknis kegiatan pengabdian yaitu memberikan materi perancangan alat PILOT, menjelaskan komponen dan cara kerja alat PILOT, mendampingi mitra menggunakan alat PILOT, dan mengajak masyarakat sekitar mitra untuk ikut mengoperasikan alat PILOT. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah bertambahnya wawasan mitra mengenai alat PILOT, adanya peningkatan keahlian mitra, dan kemudahan dalam pekerjaan.

Abstract

This study aimed to find a significant difference between the learning outcomes of physics students taught through problem-based learning supported by a variety of visual media and those taught through conventional learning. This is to determine whether The method used in this study is quasi-experimental, using only a post-test control group design. The study population consisted of all 7th graders from public schools in South Sulawesi, and the sample was divided into two classes, an experimental class and a control class. The test vehicle for learning cognitive outcomes in the multiple-choice format of the extended material serves as a test vehicle. The sig values were obtained as a result of data analysis, i.e. based on the independent-samples t-test. (two-sided) is 0.000, which is less than the significance of 0.05, so Ho is rejected, and H1 is accepted. Thus, there is a significant difference between the physics learning outcomes of students taught through problem-based learning supported by a variety of visual media and the physics learning outcomes of students taught through conventional learning.
