Abstract

Abstract: This article describes the culinary lexicon of the Pesisir communities in Barus, central Tapanuli from an ecolinguistic perspective. One of the environmental vocabulary which is a cultural nuance in society is the culinary lexicon. The culinary eco-collection is part of the local language vocabulary that is full of cultural wisdom that has existed since centuries ago and still exists today, and has a reciprocal relationship between language and its environment, both on a macrocosmic and microcosmic scale. The culinary lexicon of the Barus coastal community, Central Tapanuli Regency is classified into two lexicon groups, namely the lexicon of tools and materials and the lexicon of processing methods. From the two lexicon groups, 91 lexicon were obtained, consisting of 71 tools and materials lexicon, and 20 lexicon of processing. Pesisir communities in Barus describes culinary types based on sociological and biological dimensions. Sociologically, it is still a culinary dish that is still served if a guest comes to respect the guest. Keywords: Culinary lexicon; Ecolinguistics; Pesisir communities. Abstrak: Artikel ini mendeskripsikan leksikon kuliner masyarakat Pesisir di Barus, Tapanuli Tengah dari perspektif ekolinguistik. Salah satu kosakata lingkungan hidup yang menjadi nuansa budaya masyarakat adalah leksikon kuliner. Eco-collection kuliner merupakan bagian dari kosakata bahasa daerah yang sarat dengan kearifan budaya yang telah ada sejak berabad-abad yang lalu dan masih eksis hingga saat ini, serta memiliki hubungan timbal balik antara bahasa dan lingkungannya, baik dalam skala makrokosmik maupun mikrokosmik. Leksikon kuliner masyarakat pesisir Barus Kabupaten Tapanuli Tengah digolongkan ke dalam dua kelompok leksikon, yaitu leksikon alat dan bahan serta leksikon cara pengolahan. Dari kedua kelompok leksikon tersebut diperoleh 91 leksikon yang terdiri dari 71 leksikon alat dan bahan, serta 20 leksikon pengolahan. Masyarakat Pesisir di Barus mendeskripsikan jenis kuliner berdasarkan dimensi sosiologis dan biologis. Secara sosiologis, kuliner tetap merupakan kuliner yang tetap dihidangkan jika ada tamu yang datang untuk menghormati tamunya. Kata kunci: Leksikon Kuliner; Ekolinguistik; Masyarakat Pesisir.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the application of stop motion technique in teaching subnetting with Variable Length Subnet Mask (VLSM) through multimedia-based learning. Subnetting, particularly with VLSM, is often perceived as a complex and challenging topic for students in the field of computer networking. Thus, this study focuses on the development and evaluation of instructional materials that use stop motion technique to visually and interactively explain subnetting concepts. The methodology involves designing and creating stop motion videos that illustrate the steps of subnetting with VLSM. These videos are then integrated into a multimedia learning module accessible to students. The effectiveness of using stop motion videos in enhancing students' understanding and skills in subnetting is evaluated through case studies and surveys. The results indicate that the use of stop motion technique significantly facilitates clearer and more engaging comprehension of subnetting with VLSM. Students exposed to multimedia learning materials with stop motion technique demonstrate a notable improvement in their understanding and application of subnetting compared to traditional methods. The study concludes that stop motion is an effective tool in teaching networking techniques, positively impacting student engagement and learning outcomes.Keywords: stop motion, subnetting, Variable Length Subnet Mask (VLSM), multimedia learning

Abstract

The mahram used by the people is taken from Arabic. Mahram is a woman or a man who is still a close relative so it is not permissible to marry between the two. Mahram relationships can occur for three reasons, namely heredity, breastfeeding, and marital relations. Mahram can be sourced from the verses of the Qur'an and Al-Hadith. However, nowadays there are still many people who do not know which is mahram or not. The purpose of this study is to build an application system that will be a medium for users, especially Muslims to know the mahram and make it easier for us to know the mahram of the family. This application is designed using Adobe Flash CS6 which has a pretty good performance. The system development method used is the literature study method, which collects supporting data related to research such as from social media, websites or other sources. Based on the test results, the genealogy application is running successfully on the Windows 10 operating system. This research produces an application with the main function as a medium that requires information about mahram in Islam and provides the desired convenience and speed.

Abstract

The world of martial arts is very well known in various national and international regions. There are several that show martial arts, one of which is Karate. Karate is a martial art that is applied in a national level sports branch in Indonesia. Karate has 3 training branches, namely Shoto-Kai, Inkanas and Lemkari. A martial art will always select the schedule for each event held by the committee, one of which is Shoto-Kai karate. The aim of this research is to build a selection system for various categories using the Welch Powell method which previously was still done manually, therefore the selection can be automatically inputted by participant data into an application. This application uses Microsoft Visual Basic, making it easier for the committee to determine participants in selecting the karate competition schedule. Based on the test results, the application obtained can run successfully so that it can use a laptop/computer. This research can be a medium of information regarding karate selection and can provide smoothness to achieve success.

Abstract

In addition to the color representation contained in a digital image, the size of the image will also greatly affect the image processing process. In some cases of image acquisition, sometimes the size of the image obtained does not correspond to the desired one. Pattern recognition processes, such as vehicle license plate recognition, may result in incorrect output if the size of the processed input image is not appropriate. Therefore, determining the size of a digital image is very important in further image processing. To solve such problems can be done by enlarging the size of the image through the process of interpolation or resampling. Image magnification is the process of enlarging the size of a digital image from its original size to a new and different size based on the desired magnification scale. However, as a result of enlarging the image obtained there is always a blur, so the image will look like a checkerboard (split). This situation occurs because during the magnification process the resolution of the new image becomes lower. Thus, additional methods are needed to improve the image quality of the resampling results. This study aims to improve the low-resolution image quality of resampling results by applying Linear Interpolation and Geometric Mean Filter methods. The test results showed that the Linear Interpolation method was able to produce a new image that was larger than the original image and the Geometric Mean Filter method could improve the image quality of the enlarged image so that the details of the information in the image are better and clearly seen visually. And to find out if the image enlarged from the Linear Interpolation and Geometric Mean Filter is good or not, we will use the Mean Squared Error (MSE) and Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) methods. Abstract

Gardening and farming are the activities of planting and caring for plants for a specific purpose, such as to produce food, flowers, or medicinal plants. Gardening and farming are usually done in gardens, parks, or farmland. In gardening and farming, we need to understand various aspects, such as the type of plants to be planted, land preparation, planting techniques, plant maintenance, and also how to overcome problems that arise during the plant growth process. Indonesia has a fairly extensive greening program, there are still several problems related to greening in Indonesia, including: Lack of consistency in the implementation of greening programs, Lack of community support and understanding of the importance of greening, and others. This 3D animated video tutorial on farming organic, non-organic, and hydroponic plants with this rigging method is one effective way to provide information and education to the public about how to grow crops and gardening correctly and efficiently. The rigging method used in making this video allows the characters in the animation to move and interact naturally, so that the tutorial presented looks more lively and interesting. Basically, this animation video processing uses the Unity 3D application, and supporting applications such as Blender and SketchFab to obtain some of the assets needed. The result of the animated video created is in the form of a .mp4 file that can be played on various devices. Based on the test results that have been obtained, this animated video is very helpful for children and the community in farming and gardening.
