This paper describes the various efforts made to be able to maintain oral traditions, especially the Barus area as a national identity. These efforts include developing studios, storing collections of oral traditions, and the role of the government and the mass media. These efforts are made so that oral traditions are always preserved so that national identity can be recognized by the entire community, both at home and abroad.

The aims of this research were to find out the kinds of translation shift in translation of Economic Bilingual Text Book, to describe the pattern of shift used by Economic Bilingual Text Book to bridge the different grammatical structures between Indonesia and English, and to explain about the reason of translation shift used in Economic Bilingual Text Book. The research was conducted by using qualitative descriptive design. The data of this study was clauses that were translated from Bahasa Indonesia into English by Mulyadi, E., and Mardiyatmo (2009) on an Economic Bilingual text book ‘Economics 1’ for Junior High School Year VII as the source of data. The data was analyzed by using the Theory of Translation Shift based on (Catford: 1965) to find the types and the ways of translation shift used in economic bilingual text book and the reasons of translation shift were used in Economic Bilingual Text Book based on Newmark (1988:85).

Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (research and development). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul pembelajaran cerpen berbasis sosial budaya untuk meningkatkan HOTS siswa kelas XI SMA. Untuk mengetahui tingkat kevalidan maka dilakukan penilaian oleh validator terhadap modul pembelajaran cerpen berbasis sosial budaya untuk meningkatkan HOTS siswa kelas XI SMA. Tingkat kevalidan modul dinilai berdasarkan penilaian dari validator yaitu ahli materi dan ahli desain. Prosedur pengembangan yang digunakan mengacu pada model pengembangan Thiagarajan (1974) yang telah dibatasi menjadi 3-D terdiri dari (1) pendefinisian, (2) perancangan, dan (3) pengembangan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa modul pembelajaran cerpen berbasis sosial budaya untuk meningkatkan HOTS siswa kelas XI SMA telah memenuhi kriteria sangat baik. Penilaian terhadap tingkat kevalidan modul oleh ahli materi dengan nilai persentase sebesar 87% menunjukan kriteria sangat baik dan ahli desain dengan nilai persentase sebesar 93% menunjukan kriteria sangat baik. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan modul pembelajaran cerpen berbasis sosial budaya untuk meningkatkan HOTS siswa kelas XI SMA menunjukan kriteria sangat baik dan valid untuk digunakan sebagai bahan ajar pembelajaran pada kelas XI SMA. Namun, modul belum disebarluaskan ke siswa karena sistem pembelajaran terganggu di masa Pandemi Covid 19 sehingga disebut dengan prototipe.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan prosedur pembelajaran dengan media modul interaktif pada mata kuliah semantic. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian R & D (Reasearch and Development) dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik yang dilakukan dalam pengumpulan data yang digunakan wawancara dan Kuesioner (angket). Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis kuantitatif. Melalui data diperoleh dari validasi yang dilakukan oleh dosen ahli desain media dan ahli materi. Temuan penelitian, menunjukkan bahwa Mata Kuliah Semantik desain pembelajaran yang dibuat layak diteraapkan kepada mahasiswa untuk menambah inovasi pembelajaran yang lebih menarik untuk menambah minat mahasiswa dalam menjalankan kegiatan mata kuliah. Modul yang dikembangkan pada materi semantik ini sangat layak digunakan. Persentase kelayakan yang diperoleh sebesar 81,5%. Kata Kunci: Media Pembelajaran, Pengembangan, Modul, Sematik Abstract: This study aims to develop learning procedures with interactive module media in semantics courses. The method used in this research is research using research methods R & D (Research and Development) with a quantitative approach. The techniques used in data collection used interviews and questionnaires (questionnaires). The data analysis technique used is quantitative analysis. Through data obtained from validation carried out by lecturers of media design experts and material experts. The research findings indicate that the Semantics course design learning is feasible to apply to students to add more interesting learning innovations to increase student interest in carrying out course activities. The module developed on this semantic material is very feasible to use. The percentage of eligibility obtained was 81.5%. Keywords: Learning Media, Development, Modules, Sematics

This study aims to describe the ability to write short stories using the Suggestion-Imagination learning model with the media song of class XI students of YPK Private Vocational School Medan, to describe the ability to write short stories using the Suggestion-Imagination learning model with video media for class XI students at YPK Private Vocational School Medan, To describe whether there is a significant effect on the ability to write short stories using the Suggestion-Imagination learning model with the media of song for class XI students of YPK Private Vocational School Medan. The sample in this study was 60 students. From the results of data processing, the average value of the experimental class was 71.6 while the control class was 65.5. Thus it can be said that the results of learning to write short stories in the experimental class are higher than the control class. After testing the hypothesis, the value of tcount = 3.144 was then adjusted to ttable at a significant level of = 5% with dk = (n1+n2) – 2 = (30+30 – 2) = 58, then obtained a significant level of 5% = 2.002 ( by interpolation). Then compared between tcount and ttable, it was obtained tcount 3.144 > ttable 2.002 so that Ho (Nil Hypothesis) was rejected and Ha (Alternative Hypothesis) was accepted.

This study aims to describe the product in the form of saga story worksheets containing tolerance for class X high school students, to describe the validation of saga story worksheets to instill tolerance values ??in students according to material and design experts for class X high school students, to describe the feasibility of validating saga story worksheets to instill Tolerance values ??for students according to material and design experts for grade X high school students. The research method is used as a reference in conducting research. With the research method, the author will have no difficulty determining how to carry out a research because there are already rules that are regulated based on what method is used. In this study, the author uses a 4D research and development method adapted from Thiagajaran. In the assessment of material experts the total score obtained in the first stage of validation was 94 with an average score of 4.47 indicating the "very valid" category, while in the second stage of validation with the table the total score obtained was 78 with an average score of 3.71 indicating the "Valid" category. Thus the results obtained from material experts show the "VALID" category, which means the product is feasible and can be used.

This study aimed to develop an expository writing text module with an expository genre approach. The study used the 4D research and development method by Thiagarajan. The stages of this research method are carried out at the stage of defining, designing, and developing without conducting the dissemination stage. The data consisted of primary and secondary data. The secondary data were taken from articles from relevant previous studies, and books. While the primary data are taken directly from experts in the form of an assessment of teaching material products. The study used the documentation techniques. The study used questionnaire to collect data. Then the collected data will be analyzed by using the data analysis technique of Miles and Huberman. Through the assessment of material experts, the resulting module received a final score of 3.88 as very valid criteria, and the overall average score of the product design assessment by design experts was 3.67 as very valid criteria. Based on these results, it is concluded that the prototype of the explanatory text writing module with visual media developed is valid and feasible to be tested for the next stage, namely the dissemination stage.

This study aimed to describe the development process and feasibility of animation learning media based on animaker in class X SMA Nurul Islam Indonesia Medan. The source of data is a questionnaire. The data collection techniques used observation and interviews to gain data in learning the structure of negotiating texts. This study used research and development (R&D) by Thiagajaran that consists of 4 stages of development; 1)definition stage, 2)design stage, 3)development and 4)dissemination. The researchers tested the product in large and small groups. The material expert validation of the developed animaker-based animation learning media obtained an overall average as 78% or "Satisfaction", means that the product is eligible to be tested. While media experts obtained an overall average as 98% or "Very Satisfaction" means that the product deserves to be tested into large and small groups. The results of the small group test in class X IPA obtained 90% and the small group test in class X IPS obtained 80%. Then for the results of the percentage of student response questionnaires in the form of large group tests, in class X IPA it was obtained 94% and in class X IPS it was obtained 90%. From all the percentages obtained for the developed learning media, the learning media is declared to be effectively used in learning in class X science

The research aims to increase the motivation and learning outcomes of students at UPT SMP Negeri 8 Medan by implementing the Teaching at Right Level (TaRL) approach. The subjects in this research were 30 students in class VIII-2 UPT SMP Negeri 8 Medan. This research is classroom action research carried out in 2 cycles. The two cycles carried out 4 learning meetings and 2 evaluations. The results of the research show that students' learning motivation has increased, in the pre-cycle the average was 65.2 in the sufficient category, then in the first cycle it increased to 74.9 in the sufficient category. In cycle II, the average learning motivation of students increased to 83.3 in the good category, while for learning outcomes there was an increase in classical completeness in the pre-cycle by 20%, then in cycle I it increased to 50%, improvements were made in cycle II, classical completeness was the result student learning increased to 87%. So, it can be concluded that implementing the TaRL approach can increase student motivation and learning outcomes at UPT SMP Negeri 8 Medan.
