Abstract

Migrant Workers and Higher Education issues seem two different contradictory topics. Many research on migrant workers often associates them with pragmatical activities, the working class, and marginal groups. On the other hand, Higher Education (HE) is more often associated with idealistic spaces, middle classes, and academics environment. This paper presents the phenomenon of Indonesian migrant worker-students in South Korea. We found the increasing number of Indonesian migrant workers who pursue higher education through overseas Indonesian Open University (Universitas Terbuka) in Korea and ICT-based Korean local universities. We examine how migrant workers take advantage of the transformation of higher education. We try to answer whether higher education experienced democratization will reduce social inequality, or on the contrary, it will be trapped in an educational capitalization that sharpens the gap.

Abstract

The spread of the Covid-19 virus requires human interaction to be mediated by information and communication technology, including education. Educators must adapt to this change to become role models quickly. However, not all educators can use technology in online learning. For educators in the village who had never used information and communication technology for education, this adaptation process needed guidance in the acceleration, as a necessity of educators with ICT mastery capabilities in the information age and amid the pandemic situation. It takes a mentoring program for educators to improve their ability and competence on digital technology for learning management both luring and online. This program is intended for educators in MI Al-Hikmah Source of Simo Boyolali through a participatory approach. The training began by doing a pretest and continued FGD to map the potential and problems faced by the teacher. Based on the pretest and FGD,  we decided to conduct digital literacy training to improve educator competencies in managing online learning and luring. Penyebaran virus Covid-19 mengharuskan interaksi manusia termediasi oleh teknologi informasi dan komunikasi termasuk dalam bidang pendidikan. Abstract

Based on the Digital Civility Index (DCI), Indonesian internet users have the lowest Digital Civilization Index in Southeast Asia. This phenomenon is evident from the rise of fake news or hoaxes, hate speech, cyberbullying, discrimination, and even fraud. Modernization has also made people's lifestyles more consumptive. Indonesia is also a religious country with the largest Muslim population in the world. Indonesia is ready to face the coming era of what is known as the era of society 5.0. This article analyzes the public perception of urban society in Semarang city of the importance of religious education in their lives and how it is used as an aspect of curriculum development in the era of society 5.0. This research is qualitative research using a method of phenomenology. Data was collected from interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that contextualization of the Islamic religious education curriculum is needed to suit the needs of society in the era of society 5.0. Islamic religious education teaches students the physical dimension (shari'a) and the spiritual dimension (essential) so that Islamic religious education can foster spirituality for urban Muslim communities as a basis for values in everyday behaviour. Islamic religious education must instil the importance of monotheism and ethics in utilizing technology. The era of society 5.0 makes humans the centre (anthropocentric), while Islamic religious education instils the value that God is the centre (theocentric).

Abstract

This study aims to construct and test the validity of the Islamic youth religiosity scale. The population in this study is Muslim students of senior high schools in Surakarta, Central Java, with a sample of 258 established using the random sampling technique. The data analysis used the Linear Structural Model. The result shows that the RMSEA (≤ 0.08) and GFI (≥ 0.09) values from the four dimensions (belief, ritual, social, commitment meet the standard values of compatibility with the respective values for RMSEA beliefs = 0.055 GFI = 0.94, RMSEA rituals = 0.026 GFI = 0.99, social RMSEA = 0.059 GFI = 0.91, commitment of RMSEA = 0.032 GFI = 0.97. This means that these dimensions (belief, ritual, social, commitment) can reflect the religiosity variables positively and fit empirical data. The most dominant dimension reflecting religiosity is the social dimension with an average factor loading value 0.05, and the weakest one that reflects religiosity is confidence because many items have a loading factor 0.05.

Abstract

Based on the Digital Civility Index (DCI), Indonesian internet users are ranked at the lowest position within Southeast Asia in terms of their Digital Civility Index. This observable trend is closely associated with the proliferation of fake information, hate speech, cyberbullying, discriminatory behavior, and instances of fraud. Additionally, the process of modernization has significantly increased the consumptive tendencies within people's lifestyles. It is essential to note that Indonesia, with the world's largest Muslim population, is deeply rooted in religious beliefs. The country is ready to face the coming era of what is known as the era of society 5.0. Therefore, this study analyzed the public perception among urban dwellers in Semarang, focusing on the role of religious education as an aspect of curriculum development in the era of Society 5.0. In this context, the qualitative analysis was conducted using a method of phenomenology to obtain data through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results showed that contextualization of the Islamic religious education curriculum was needed to suit the needs of society. Islamic religious education taught students the physical (shari'a) and the spiritual dimensions (essential) to improve spirituality for urban Muslim communities as a basis for values in everyday behavior. In this context, the education instilled the importance of monotheism and ethics in using technology. Even though the era of Society 5.0 placed humans at the center (anthropocentric), the concept of Islamic religious education instilled the notion of God remaining at the centre (theocentric).
