Abstract

Instructions lab at the high school level (school SMA) on the subject of biotechnology is one of the practical guide developed by using other organisms to produce a new product that can be useful for daily life hari.Masalah in this study, namely how the compounds exist in peanut skin, and how the process of making aromatic oil from peanut skin waste?. This type of research is experimental. From the third experiment result using ethanol blend, groundnut peanut powder, and aquades with 50 ml: 5 gr: 50 ml, gives the desired result of producing aromatic oil.

Abstract

Writing scientific articles that are integrated with learning biology is still rarely done. On the other hand, students' critical thinking skills need to be developed. One of the efforts is to develop students' thinking skills by writing scientific articles by optimizing digital and information literacy use. Scientific articles are used as student assignments in learning conservation and environmental knowledge through the group investigation learning model. This study aims to determine the effect of writing scientific articles through optimizing digital and information literacy on students' critical thinking skills. The method used in this research is quantitative with a non-experimental explanatory design. Data collection using a questionnaire with a Five Point Likert Scale. There were 43 respondents, of which 100 percent of the completed questionnaire was usable for further analysis. Data analysis in this study used a structural equation model with a partial less square analysis technique (SEM-PLS) using smart-pls 3.2.7 software at a significance level of 5% to predict the hypothesis. Structural Equation Modeling Estimation Shows that Digital Literacy, Information Literacy, and Article Writing Affect Students' Critical Thinking Skills. These findings indicate that writing scientific articles through optimizing digital and information literacy has an effect on students' critical thinking skills. Therefore, writing scientific articles through optimizing digital and information literacy is one method to improve students' critical thinking skills. The implication in the world of education, writing scientific articles through optimizing digital and information literacy can be used as an alternative task for students to improve critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop magic crossword puzzle media in the material ofnatural phenomena. This research is a Research and Development. Implementation magiccrossword puzzle media using one group pretest-posttest control design with the subjects are fifthgrade students SDN 2 Gedong Mulyo Mulyo academic year 2016/ 2017. The results magiccrossword puzzle media consists of two parts, front page and back page. The front page iscrossword puzzle and the back page is pieces of pape. The results validate from two validatorsare media developed by the researchers included in the category of valid use in the fiftth grade ofelementary school. Magic crossword puzzle effective in material natural phenomena from thepretest result is 55,56 % posttest result is 94,4 %. Students activity is 32 % and teacher activity is38 %. Students also give good respon to magic crossword puzzle meda.

Abstract

Natural selection is one of the topics of evolution material that is considered difficult for students, so it is necessary to have a practicum to help in understanding this material. Limited laboratory equipment in schools is an obstacle to learning evolution, so learning media are needed to support evolution learning. One of the learning media that can be applied is PhET simulation. PhET simulation supports evolution learning because it provides simulations in the form of processes of how living things experience natural selection mechanisms. This service program aims to describe students' cognitive understanding of the topic of natural selection with the help of the PhET simulation application. This activity is expected to be used as reference material for teachers who conduct practicums with the help of the PhET simulation application. The subjects who participated in this service activity were 30 students in class XII MIPA. The service activities were carried out on June 16–23, 2023, at SMAN 4 Tuban. The service activities carried out include training, discussion, and guidance. Based on the results of the program, it can be seen that the trainees were very enthusiastic about participating in the PhET simulation activities, the use of PhET simulation was easy to apply, and the trainees were easier to understand the material with the help of this application (87% of the time).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the validity of interactive e-books assisted by Heyzine Flipbooks on classification material to improve critical thinking skills. This type of research is research and development (R&D) using the 4D development model (Four-D models). Data collection was carried out using an instrument in the form of a validation questionnaire distributed to material, media and language expert validators. This research and development produced an interactive e-book assisted by Heyzine Flipbooks to improve valid critical thinking skills based on the achievement of material, media, and language aspects. This interactive e-book design contains features such as the addition of links, images, videos, audio, and the web so that the Heyzine Flipbooks-assisted e-book contains more information with diverse and interactive sources. As for the results of data analysis validation by material, media, and language experts, interactive e-books assisted by Heyzine Flipbooks to improve critical thinking skills developed have met the criteria with the results of the average percentage score from validators of 81.81% in material aspects, 81.20% in media aspects, and 81.47% in language aspects so that it can be stated that interactive e-books assisted by Heyzine Flipbooks show a valid category and are feasible to use with revisions to learning.

Abstract

Sampah adalah bahan yang tidak digunakan lagi yang berbentuk padat maupun cair.Sampah akan menimbulkan berbagai masalah jika tidak ditangani secara baik Sampah-sampah di laut merupakan salah satu sumber pencemaran laut dan sebagai penyebab global berbagai dampak ekologis. sampah anorganik merupakan sampah yang sulit membusuk,seperti botol dan gelas plastik minuman,kertas,kayu dan sebagainya Sampah organik ,sampah yang cepat membusuk,seperti kulit buah-buahan,sayuran,sisa makanan,buah-buahan,daun -daun kering.Sampah organik ini dapat diolah menjadi kompos.Pengomposan dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan biourine.Tujuan dari pelatihan ini mengetahui bahaya sampah organik dan memanfaatkan sampah organik menjadi kompos dengan bamtuan biourine.Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi bahaya sampah organik,pelatihan dan worshop.Kesipulan dari pelatihan ini dari tanggapan peserta pelatihan mengenai bahan yang digunakan dalam pelatihan banyak tersedia di lingkungan tempat tinggal mereka,terutama bahan EM4,tetapi mereka tidak tahu penggunaannya.Keunggulan pelatihan ini,kompos dari sampah organik dengan bantuan biourine dapat mempercepat pertumbuhan tanaman dan juga pupuk ini ramah lingkungan.Namun pupuk ini memiliki kekurangan yaitu proses pembuatanya membutuhkan waktu yang lama.

Abstract

Learning tools play an important role in supporting the achievement of learning objectives. However, the use of printed textbooks in the learning process is still not optimal, and the student worksheets (LKPD) used do not fully meet the criteria for ideal worksheets. In addition, the current worksheets have not been designed to develop students' critical thinking skills. To address these problems, this study aims to develop an interactive E-LKPD based on a Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach that is valid and practical in improving critical thinking skills. This research is a development research by applying the 4D model consisting of four main stages, namely defining (defining), designing (designing), developing (developing), and disseminating (disseminating), although the dissemination stage was not implemented in this study. In the definition stage, an analysis of the characteristics and needs of students was conducted. The design stage includes designing the structure of the content and appearance of the E-LKPD, while the development stage includes a validity test by two expert lecturers and one science teacher. Based on the validation results from the experts, the interactive E-LKPD with a PBL approach obtained a validity assessment percentage of 91,2%, which is included in the highly valid category. Thus, it can be concluded that the developed interactive e-LKPD has proven to be highly valid and practical for use as an innovative learning medium that supports students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Critical thinking is a 21st-century skill that is crucial for problem-solving and decision-making. However, the learning process in schools is still not optimal in developing this skill. This study aims to test the validity of an e-module product developed to improve critical thinking skills. This research is a developmental study using the 4D model. The instrument used was an expert validation sheet. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire in the form of a validation sheet given to the validators. Data were analyzed quantitatively based on the validation results, then elaborated with qualitative analysis. The results showed that the material validity value from the three validators was 88.47%, language validity was 89.33%, and media validity was 87.33%. These three results were then averaged, resulting in an overall validity value of 88.37%, which is categorized as valid. Input from the three validators was used as a reference for improving the e-module. Thus, it can be concluded that the e-module on the human respiratory system based on problem-based learning to improve critical thinking skills is valid and worthy of being tested.

Abstract

This study was aimed to know the effect of using E-LKPD based on Problem Based Learning on conceptual understanding of the human digestive system material. Conceptual understanding is included in the dimensions of cognitive processes. This study was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Tuban. The research methodused was a quasi- experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. Sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling technique. The sample in this study were students of class VIII.G as a control class with conventional learning and VIII.H as an experimental class with learning using E-LKPD based on Problem Based Learning. The sample in each group was 31 people for the control class and 32 people for the experimental class. Data collection was carried out using E-LKPD which contained questions in accordance with the PBL syntax in students' conceptual understanding of the human digestive system material. Data analysis using the polled variance t-test obtained the results of t count = 9.25 greater than t table = 1.99. Thismeans that t count > t table, and a significant value of 0.05 or 5%. So Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted at a significant level of 5% so it is concluded that there is a significant difference between the average pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental group and the control group. This shows that there is an influence of the use of E-LKPD based on Problem Based Learning on conceptual understanding of the human digestive system material.
