Abstract

This article presents an attempt to uncover evidence of philosophical traditions in the Islamic world that are agreed to "die" as alleged by some. Philosophical traditions in the Islamic world ended the conflict after al-Ghazali and the death of Ibn Rushd. Philosophical traditions in the Islamic world continue to live and develop, even here and there are being renewed. Some philosophers after al-Ghazali's attack and the death of Ibn Rushd even presented directions and corrections that were completely different from the tradition of thought that had previously been carried out. Search through various readings, and references show the typology and tendencies. This philosophical tradition with a completely different style, direction, and tendency reach its peak at the hands of Mulla Sadra. Mulla Sadra then referred to several experts as figures who succeeded in synthesizing the three traditions of thought that had once lived in Islam. In the end, this article presents a search for philosophical typologies that grew and developed after the al-Ghazali attack and the death of Ibn Rusyd.

Abstract

This article presents a study of two sentences of shahada (syahadatain) which in Islamic teachings are positioned as the basis of diversity. However, most jurisprudence books begin their description of Islamic teachings with the chapter Thâhârah - purification. This condition causes the study of the two sentences of the creed to not develop among academics. The distinctive position of the two sentences of the creed is actually commonly discussed in the world of Sufism. Jalaluddin Rumi, al-Jilli, al-Haddad, as well as the philosopher-poet Muhammad Iqbal have commented specifically on these two sentences of the creed. This article intends to explore the Asy-Syahadatain Order which specifically places two sentences of the creed as a starting point for spiritual practice. This study uses discourse analysis through literature searches of books, especially books of the nazham collection of Sayyid Umar bin Ismail bin Yahya. The findings of this study indicate that there are different meanings and treatments of the two creed in the Asy-Syahadatain order. In contrast to other tarekat, in its dhikr ritual, the Asy-Syahadatain tarekat chooses two sentences of the shahada, plus the sentence of prayer to the Prophet, his family and friends -as the initial sentence chanted after greeting in prayer. Not only that, this tarekat makes the creed as the basis for the journey of a traveler on the spiritual path (salik).

Abstract

There is a need to re-question the human condition today, and technology changes the history of human civilization and social development, so that the "condition" of Posthumanism and cyborgs is one of them. The vision of 'post-gender' cyborgs has sparked feminist interest in reclaiming technology as a tool of liberation, whose identity has always been biologically identical, but cyborgs view this differently. Because of cyborgs, women are able to create their own identity, and create a more ideal reality for women. This research uses qualitative methods and literature study approach. The data used in this study are primary data in the form of the work of Donna J. Haraway and secondary data in the form of books and journals related to the discussion of this research. The conclusion of this study is that women should use technology as a tool for liberation and as a "former" of non-biological identity.
