Abstract

ABSTRACT This research  was intended to determine the effect of three rates of phosphorous (P) on crop growthof  several varieties of soybean. A field experimentwas conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riauexperiment station in Pekanbaru fromApril to August 2013. Four soybean varieties were grown and fertilized with three rates of Pfertilizer;  ie 0 kg, 25 kg, and 50 kg P2O5/ hectare. Each varieties were theplanted in a plot of 3.2 m by 3 m with planting rate of 40 cm between rows and 15 cm within a row.  Fertilizer including 50 kg N, 30 kg K2O per hectars and P fertilizer according to assigned treatment were applied seven days after planting. Traits observed were plant height, crop growth rate,crown root ratio, time to flowering, timetoharvest, number of filled pods per plant , number of seeds per plant, seed weight per plant and grain yield per m2.Data were analyzed by analysis of variance and further tested by least significantdifference at 5% level . This research indcated the differences among varieties on all traits except on root nodule weight and grain weight per plant.There were same differences among varieties on their respons to P fertilizer  as shown by all ofthe observation except  for number of filled pods per plant.  Specifically grain yield increased by aplication of P fertilizer on Grobogan and Argomulyo, however for  Anjasmoro and Burangrang, aplication of P fertilizer tent to reduced grain yield. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the dosage of the best bioslurry as organic fertilizer to support the growth of oil palm in main nursery. This research is conducted by using Complete Random Design (CDR) consist of 6 treatments and each treatment was repeated 4 times then obtained 24 experimental units, each experimental unit consist of 2 plants. The treatments are; LB0 : without bioslurry treatment, LB1 : 50 ml bioslurry/plant, LB2 : 100 ml bioslurry/plant, LB3 : 150 ml bioslurry/plant, LB4 : 200 ml bioslurry/plant, LB5 : 250 ml bioslurry/plant.The result of this research shows that the aplication of giving bioslurry has a real effect to increase the number of leaves and dry weight, and not effect et the height parameter of the oil palm, hump diameter, root volume, and root crown ratio. Aplication of 200 ml bioslurry dosage give the best result on oil palm growth in main nursery.   Keywords: oil palm, bioslurry, dosage.

Abstract

Fertilization is a factor that must be considered to improve the growth of oil palm plant on peatland. Applications of sufficient and balanced fertilizer is needed to support the growth of oil palm. One way to get a good growth of oil palmon peatland is by providing essential nutrients both macro and micro. This research aims to determine the interaction of NPK and Cu compound fertilizeras well as finding the best dose for growth of immature oil palm plants. This research arranged  experimentallyby using randomized block design (RBD), consistof 16 combinations that repeated 3 times, so obtained 48 units experiment, that 1 unit consists of 2 plants. The observed parameterswere the plant height increase, stem girth increase, number of midrib increase andlength of midrib increase. The results showed that the interaction of NPK and Cu compound fertilizerat dose of 800 g/plant NPK and 75 g/plant Cu fertilizer gave the best effect on the length of midrib increase.   Keywords: NPK compoundfertilizer, peatland

Abstract

This research aims to determine the interaction of vermicompost and NPK fertilizers as well as get the best dose of the growth of cocoa seedling (Theobroma cacao L.). This research has been conducted on the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau from April to August 2015. The study was conducted in 4 x 4 factorial experiment arranged in completely randomized design. The first factor is the dose of vermicompost that consists of 4 levels:          0 g/plant, 15 g/plant, 25 g/plant and 35 g/plant and the second factor is the dose of NPK fertilizer which consisting of 4 levels: 0 g/plant, 7,5 g/plant, 15 g/plant and 22,5 g/plant. In this study, there are 16 combinations of treatment with 3 replications so that there are 48 experimental units. Each experiment contained 3 unit seedling and two nursery plants into samples so obtained total 144 seedlings. Observations was plant heigh, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area, root volume, the ratio of crown roots and dry weight of plants. The results showed that the interaction of vermicompost and NPK fertilizers give the best effect at treatment of vermicompost 25 g/plant and NPK fertilizer 7,5 g/plant. Vermicompost best factor is 15 - 25 g/plant, while the factor that best NPK fertilizer is 7,5 g/plant. Keywords: Theobroma cacao L., vermicompost, NPK fertilizer

Abstract

This researchaims to know the species amountd, total individual, calculate population density (K) and relative density (KR)  soil macrofauna in oil palm plantation (Elais guineensis Jacq) in peatland by giving organic matter in water level is different.This research are conducted by observation, sampling for soil macrofauna of data is determined by purposive random sampling method, and data soil macrofauna results to analyzed statistic descriptive. The results showed that the  amountd species, total individual, population density and relative density of soil macrofauna were higher in water levels of 40-50 cm. The  giving organic matter in the soil water level is different in the first month, giving palm fronds and Mucunna bracteata produces the number of species, the total individual, population density, and density of the soil macrofauna relative higher than that of oil palm empty fruit bunches,while in the third month the  species, the total individual, population density, and density of the soil makorfauna ralatif higher in the provision of oil palm empty fruit bunches and palm fronds.In water levels same produce  the  amountd species, total individual, population density,  and relative density of soil macrofauna higher ground in water levels of 40-50 cm except amountd species in the third month. key words : soil macrofana, water level, organic metter

Abstract

The soybean plants need a phosphorus in a great quantity for growth and production. Phosporus is one of essential nutrients for plants, but its availability in soil is tended to decrease. Therefore, the effective step to increase soybean production is using the soybean varieties with high productivity that can survive in the poor soil of nutrients P. This study aimed to examine the effect of fertilizer P to P uptake, growth and soybean varieties production. The eksperiment was conducted in an experiment station of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau lasted for 6 month started on April 2013 to August 2013. Four soybean varieties are Anjasmoro, Grobogan, Argomulyo and Burangrang planted with three level of dosage of fertilizers, there are 0 kg P2O5/ha, 25 kg P2O5/ha, 50 kg P2O5/ha. The parameter of observation include the phosphorus uptake, height plant, days of flowering, days of harvesting, weight of 100 seeds, number of seed per plant and result per m2. This study result indicate that the best P uptake are Anjasmoro and Argomulyo on 25 kg/ha fertilizer P but Grobogan and Burangrang on fertilizer P as much as 50 kg/ha. Giving the fertilizer P can increasing the growth and production on a certain varieties, while another varieties can’t showed the effect of giving fertilizer. Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the influence of ELCPKS and dolomite interaction on oil palm seedling growth and get the best dose for oil palm seedling growth. This research was conducted at the experimental station of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau on December 2013 until March 2014. This research was arranged on using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factorial: Factor 1 ; dose of ELCPKS, L0 = Without ELCPKS, L1 = 25 g ELCPKS /polybag, L2 = 50 g ELCPKS of  /polybag and L3 = 75 g ELCPKS of /polybag. Factor II ; dolomite D0 = Without dolomite/polybag, D1 = Giving 6 g dolomite /polybag, D2 =12 g dolomite /polybag, D3 = 18 g dolomite /polybag and repeated 3 times, so obtained 48 units experiment. Parameters observed were the increase of plant height, increase of stump diameter, increase of leaves number, root volume, root shoot ratio and dry weight. The result showed that ELCPKS and dolomite interaction affect on; increase of plant height, increase of stump diameter, root crown ratio and plant dry weight, but not significantly on increase of leaves number and root volume. The best results shows on 75 g ELCPKS of /polybag and 18 g dolomite /polybag. ELCPKS treatment on oil palm seedling affect to all parameters, meanwhile the dolomite lime treatment affect to all parameters except on increase of leaves number and root shoot ratio.   Keywords : Oil palm seedling, ELCPKS, dolomite

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the physical properties of acid Dystrudepts in the circle area of palm oil plant applied the organic mulch of Mucuna bracteata. Soil physical analysis carried out in the soil laboratory of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau, on October 2014 to February 2015. Application of organic mulch Mucuna bracteata. This research was arranged on using Completely Rendomized Design (CDR) nonfactorial that consists of            4 treatments and 4 replications . The treatments consisted of M0 (0 kg/plant), M1 (15 kg/plant), M2 (30 kg/plant) and M3 (45 kg/ plant). Parameters measured were soil moisture, soil temperature, organic matter, bulk density, total of pore space and  infiltration. Abstract

Agarwood plantis a commodity timber forest products that have high value and become a mainstay Indonesian export products. To support the process of cultivation of agarwood plant isrequired the provision of quality seeds and planting medium is supported by the availability of good and nutrient availability thar enough for the growth of seedlings. The research aim is to know the effect of the interaction of palm oil empty fruit bunch compost and NPK fertilizer and to get the best treatment for the growth of agartwood plant seedling. Theresearch was conducted at the experimental gardenAgricultural Faculty, University of Riau, Pekanbaru from May to September 2014. The research carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial consisting of two factors: palm oil empty fruit bunch compost and NPKfertilizer. The first factor is the dose of palm oil empty fruit bunch compost consists of 4 levels, that is: K0 (without palm oil empty fruit bunch compost), K1 (1/3 part of the media), K2 (1/2 part of the media), K3 (2/3 sections of the media). The second factor is the NPK fertilizer application consists of 4 levels: M0 (without NPK fertilizer), M1 (1 g/plant), M2 (2g/plant), M3 (3 g/plant). The results showed that the giving of palm oil empty fruit bunch compost and NPK fertilizer to agarwoor seedling gavethe best effect on fertilizer application of palm oil empty fruit bunch compost2/3 of the media with NPK 2 g/plants against accretion parameters plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, stems and broad dry weight .   Keyword: Agarwood seedling, palm oil empty fruit bunch compost, NPK fertilizer

Abstract

The objective of this study is determine response of four varieties on various rates of phosphorous fertilizer. The field experiment was arranged in a with  randomized complete block design three replications. Seed of each cultivar was planted in a plot of 3 m by 2 m with planting space of 40 cm between rows and  20 cm within a row. Parametersobserved wereplant height, time to flowering, time to harvest, number of podsperplant, number of filled pod per plant, numberof seeds per plant, seed weightperplant, yield perm2, and 100-seed weight.Application of 25 kgP2O5per ha increased plant height, number of filled pods, the number of seeds per plant and seed weight per plant and shorthened time to floweringand harvesting age. Grain yield per m2 ofWilisand Gema was higher if fertilized by 50 P2O5per hathan control and 25 P2O5 per ha.  On the other ways, grain yield per m2 ofBurangrangand Kaba varietieswas not affected significantly by application of P fertilizer.   Keywords :Soybeanvarieties, phosphorus Fertflizer, yield components, grain yield
