Abstract

Dengen fruit is one of the endemic fruit from South Sulawesi which is often found in the forest or in the yard of residents' houses. Dengen fruit contains flavonoid compounds that have the potential as medicine. Flavonoid compounds are known to have pharmacological activities such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anticancer, antidiabetic, antihypertensive, etc. This study aims to determine the levels of flavonoid compounds from Dengen fruit extract using UV-Vis spectrophotometer method. The method in this study used fresh fruit extract without a thickening process using a rotary evaporator, then tested the levels of flavonoids using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The results of the research that have been carried out have obtained the flavonoid content of the Dengen fruit extract, which is 10.23 mg/mL or equivalent to 1.023%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of secondary metabolites contained in the ethanol extract of the leaves of Pecut Kuda (Stachytarpetha jamaicensis L) using GC-MS. This research was started by maceration on samples in the form of simplicia powder for 3x24 hours using 96% ethanol as solvent to remove the active compound content in Pecut Kuda leaves. The next step is to identify secondary metabolites using GC-MS. The results of the identification of secondary metabolites in GC-MS showed that the active compounds in the ethanol extract of Pecut Kuda leaves were Linolenic acid, Neophytadiene, Butyl 9,12,15-octadecatrionoate, Hexadecanoic acid, Cyclopenta (c) pyran-4-carboxylic acid. , and Camphene. These active compounds have functions as antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antibiotic and free radical scavengers in wound healing

Abstract

Penelitian ini tentang uji stabilitas senyawa betasianin dari ekstrak bunga kenop (Gomphrena globosa L.) sebagai pewarna alami bahan pangan, bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lamanya penyimpanan, pengaruh suhu, pengaruh penambahan oksidator dan pengaruh pH terhadap stabilitas senyawa betasianin pada ekstrak bunga kenop. Metode pada penelitian ini melalui proses preparasi sampel, maserasi menggunakan etanol 48%, sampel didestilasi sebanyak 3200 ml yang menghasilkan 500 ml ekstrak bunga kenop. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa suhu 9oC (suhu rendah), 27oC (suhu ruang), pengaruh sumber cahaya 30-35oC (dibawa sinar lampu), 50-55oC (dibawa sinar matahari) dan penambahan oksidator H2O2 (10:1) berpengaruh terhadap stabilitas senyawa betasianin. Sedangkan pH 5 tidak berpengaruh.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas ekstrak etanol daun Bilajang Bulu (Merremia vitifolia) terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Dewasa ini, salah satu tumbuhan yang di manfaatkan sebagai obat oleh masyarakat terutama masyarakat di Kabupaten Luwu Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan, yaitu tumbuhan Bilajang Bulu. Air dari perasan Daun Bilajang dipercaya oleh masyarakat sekitar dapat mengurangi kadar gula darah dan daunnya dimanfaatkan sebagai obat untuk mempercepat penyembuhan jika terjadi luka pada penderita diabetes. Hal ini dikarenakan tumbuhan Merremia vitifolia meliliki senyawa aktif berupa flavonoid yang merupakan senyawa aktif yang berfungsi sebagai antivirus, insektisida dan antibakterisida. Metode pada penelitian ini melalui preparasi sampel daun Merremia vitifolia yang dikeringkan dengan diangin-anginkan, ekstraksi sampel dengan metode maserasi menggunakan etanol 96%, kemudian diuji aktivitasnya menggunakan bakteri staphylococcus aureus. Hasil penelitian diperoleh konsentrasi yang memberikan aktivitas paling optimal yaitu pada konsentrasi 20% dengan rata-rata zona bening 9,5 mm.

Abstract

The aim of this research of flavonoid compounds extract from ethanol Bilajang Bulu (Merremia vitifolia). Empirically, Merremia vitifolia was used by people in Luwu, Southern Sulawesi as a cure for diabetes mellitus injury. The research was supported by previous study, which claimed that Merremia vitifolia had an active compound that worked as anti-virus, insecticides, and anti-bacteres. Methods of this research were through preparation of a Merremia vitifolia leafs sample, maseration, extraction, and flavonoid total assesment by using spectrophotometry UV-Vis. The result obtained that the level of flavonoids was 163,4 mg/L or equivalent to 0,01634%.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the functional groups of chemical compounds from ethanol extract of akar bulu leaf (merremia fitovilia) using FT IR spectroscopy. M. fitovilia plant has been known by the people in Luwu as one of the traditional wound healing drugs in people with diabetes mellitus. The phytochemical test is known that the leaves of M. Fitovilia contains with flavanoid, alkaloids, steroids and phenolic compounds. In this study identification of functional groups of chemical compounds from the ethanol extracts of M.fitovilia leaves through sample preparation stages (sample collection, drying and sieving); extraction through ethanol maceration techniques, evaporation and FT IR analysis. The spectroscopic analysis of FT IR indicated that the ethanol extract of bilajang bulu leaves had functional groups of hydroxyl (OH), C-H aliphatic, carbonyl (C = O), olefin carbon (C = C), aromatic carbon, and alkoxy (C-O).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan konsentrasi larutan ekstrak daun cengkeh dan daun kemangi yang efektif sebagai lotion anti nyamuk. Daun cengkeh (syzigium aromaticum) dan daun kemangi (ocimum basilicium) adalah tanaman yang banyak dijumpai di Kabupaten Luwu, yang dapat digunakan sebagai anti nyamuk alami karena mengandung komponen senyawa minyak atsiri yang tidak disukai nyamuk. Metode pada penelitian ini melalui preparasi sampel, maserasi dengan menggunakan ethanol 96%, proses destilasi untuk memisahkan pelarut dengan zat terlarut, pembuatan formulasi lotion menggunakan fase minyak dan fase air dengan konsentrasi sampel yang berbeda, kemudian dilakukan empat tahap pengujian yaitu uji organoleptik, uji pH, uji viskositas, dan uji efektivitas untuk mengetahui kelayakan dan keefektifan lotion anti nyamuk dari daun cengkeh (Syzigium aromaticum) dan daun kemangi (Ocimum basilicium). Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa perbandingan volume yang efektif digunakan sebagai lotion anti nyamuk dari ekstrak daun cengkeh (Syzigium aromaticum) dan daun kemangi (Ocimum basilicium) yaitu 15 mL ekstrak daun cengkeh dan 20 mL ekstrak daun kemangi dengan perbandingan 3 : 4 dari masing-masing ekstrak.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kadar total senyawa flavonoid dari ekstrak daun rumput knop (Hyptis capitata jacq). Daun rumput knop (Hyptis capitata jacq) adalah salah satu tumbuhan yang memiliki banyak khasiat yang dipercaya oleh masyarakat Suku Toraja di Desa Taripa Kabupaten Luwu Timur Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan sebagai obat demam, luka terbuka, sakit kepala, sakit perut maupun diabetes. Salah satu senyawa yang terkandung pada Hyptis capitata jacq adalah flavonoid. Senyawa flavonoid berfungsi sebagai antioksidan. Metode penelitian ini melalui preparasi sampel, ekstraksi sampel menggunakan etanol 96%, kemudian uji kadar menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis dengan kuersetin sebagai larutan standar. Hasil penelitian kadar flavonoid diperoleh 35.09 mg/L atau setara dengan 0,003509%.

Abstract

The river water which is passes through Pajalesang, Palopo City, through settlements and several industrial developments. Increasing population and development activities along river basins can lead to increased discharge of waste into water bodies. The river which is used as a place for waste disposal from the activities of the surrounding community can cause a decrease in water quality so that it does not meet the required quality standards for the use of clean water. This research aims to determine the quality of river water in Pajalesang, Palopo City. The research method was used several stages, namely sample preparation, data analysis using physical parameters (odor, taste and color, turbidity, total dissolved solids (TDS)), and data analysis using chemical parameters, namely pH, temperature, and iron (Fe) content. The results showed on the physical parameters of river water in Pajalesang, Palopo City, that it is odorless and when drunk it is tasteless and colorless, the resulting turbidity is 7.91 NTU, the total dissolved solids (TDS) are 70 mg/L and the temperature is 26.8ÂșC. It means that based on the physical parameters, the results exceeded the threshold standard requirements for clean water quality standards set by Minister of Health Regulation No. 32/2017. The chemical parameters in river water in Pajalesang, Palopo City showed that a pH value of 7.9 and a metal content of iron (Fe) of 0.1mg/L. The results also exceeded the threshold requirements for clean water quality standards based on chemical parameters.

Abstract

The main process in processing sago to obtain sago starch uses large amounts of water. One of the factors that determine the quality of sago starch is the water used for sago starch extraction because water is used to separate sago starch from sago fiber. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of ground water used for sago starch extraction based on physical and chemical parameters. The physical parameters analyzed were the temperature, turbidity, odor, taste, and color of the ground water, while the chemical parameters analyzed were the concentrations of BOD, COD, Fe, and the pH of the ground water. Water samples were obtained from wells in Jaya Village, Telluwanua District, Palopo City. The preparation and testing of water quality were carried out at the Natural Materials Laboratory of the Faculty of Science, University of Cokroaminoto Palopo, and the Chemical Laboratory of the Makassar City Environmental Service. The results showed that the quality of ground water was based on physical parameters: temperature (26 oC), turbidity 7.54 NTU, ground water was odorless, tasteless, and colorless, while chemical parameters obtained BOD concentration of 2.2 mg/L; COD was 27.3 mg/L, and Fe metal was 4 mg/L. The results indicate that the ground water used for sago starch extraction is still within the threshold required for water quality (Class II). This research can be continued by adding tests for biological parameters, as well as several other parameters such as TDS, hardness, and several other hazardous metals so that the results of this study can be used as consideration for using the ground water as a source of water for sago starch extraction.
