Abstract

Abstract: This research entitled the ability to read the exposition of the text of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 16 Pekanbaru. This study aims to describe the ability to read the exposition of the text of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 16 Pekanbaru, to describe whether there is a significant difference in the ability to read the expositional text of the students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 16 Pekanbaru between the sample groups and between the sexes. The type of this research is descriptive-quantitative. The population of this study amounted to 125 and 95 samples. The data of this study is the test results of students in the test of reading ability exposition of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 16 Pekanbaru. The test used is an objective test consisting of four alternative answers. The data were analyzed by quantitative descriptive method through t test to know the level of reading ability of expositional text of VIII students of SMP Negeri 16 Pekanbaru, one way anova test to know difference of reading ability of expositional text of Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 16 Pekanbaru between sample group and two way anova test to know the difference in the ability to read the exposition text of the students of class VIII SMP Negeri 16 Pekanbaru between the sexes. Abstract

Abstract: This research is entitled the ability to write complex procedure texts for students of class X MA Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study was to describe the ability to write complex procedure text for students of class X MA Darul, and to describe the different ability to write complex procedure texts for students of class X MA Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru between classes and schools. The data of this study are the results of the ability to write complex procedure text for students class X MA Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru which is divided into 4 classes, namely class X Religion-1, class X Science-1, class X Religion-2, and class X Science-2 and consist from 99 population members with a sample of 72 students. The results of the study after testing using chi square one sample results χ2 count of 64.70, while χ2 tables of 90.5. The hypothesis of a single sample chi square test is that Ho is accepted if counts < χ2 tables. This means that Ho is accepted, meaning that the ability to write complex procedure text for class X MA Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru is low. In addition, the author also tested using the chi square of two samples, to find out whether or not the ability to write complex procedure texts for students of class X MA Darul Hikmah pekanbaru between classes and school origins. The result, after being tested using the chi square test of two samples, which is obtained the price of count 0.98 and the price of χ2 tables is 90.50. Chi square of two samples is accepted if the hypothesis χ2 counts < χ2 table. The test results showed that Ho was accepted, meaning that there was no difference in the ability to write complex procedure texts for students of class X MA Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru between classes and school origins.Key Words: Ability, writing, complex procedure text

Abstract

ABSTRACT:This study discusses the segmental phonemes of Riau Malay dialect Pematang Selunak Indragiri Hulu. This descriptive research used qualitative approach which aimed to describe the uniqueness of phonemes Riau Malay dialect of Pematang Selunak Indragiri Hulu. This research included into oral data which 8 native speakers of dialect Pematang Selunak the age of 20-60 years old as the informants. The data obtained by interview, record, and stories, then be classified according to the aspects studied. Based on the results of research, Riau Malay dialect of Pematang Selunak Indragiri Hulu has thirty segmental phonemes, that are, /a/, /i/, /u/, /e/, /ε/, /o, /b/, /c/, /d/, /g/ /h/, /j/, /k/, /l/, /m/, /n/, /s/, /p/, /r/, /t/, /y/, /w/, /z/, /R/, /?/, /ñ/, /ɳ/, /ay/, /aw/, and /uy/. The result of this research is a form of documentation of uniqueness phonemes contained in Riau Malay dialect Pematang Selunak Indragiri Hulu.Keywords: Segmental phonemes and Pematang Selunak dialect

Abstract

Abstract: This study investigated the ability of paraphrase a poem by Taufik Ismail humility to exposition class X MAN 039 Tembilahan. The aim of this study was to obtain data on the ability of paraphrase a poem by Taufik Ismail humility to exposition class X MAN 039 Tembilahan. The ability of paraphrase of the aspects of understanding the content and paraphrased. This study is a quantitative-descriptive. This research data is data test capabilities humility paraphrase a poem by Taufik Ismail to exposition class X MAN 039 Tembilahan. Instruments in this research is a form of poetry texts given to members of the sample. The data collection was done by using the test. The population in this study were 301 students with a total sample of 168 students. Data were analyzed with descriptive methods. The validity of the data obtained through data validation. Research results seen from the test results the ability of paraphrase a poem by Taufik Ismail humility to exposition class X MAN 039 Tembilahan. Seen from the aspect of understanding the content obtained average value amounted to 70.07 with a low category. Then, from the aspect paraphrase obtained average value amounted to 73.96 with the medium category.Keywords: paraphrasing, understand the content of the poem, poetry, exposition.
