Abstract

Sampah dan banjir merupakan hubungan sebab akibat suatu kondisi yang tidak menguntungkan bagi semua pihak, seperti kerugian ekonomi, kerusakan lingkungan, krisis air bersih, banyaknya penyakit yang muncul sampai timbulnya korban jiwa. Pada umumnya banjir terjadi karena selokan sudah tidak dapat lagi menampung volume air yang terjadi akibat curah hujan yang disebabkan antara lain adalah sampah. Banyaknya penduduk dan permukiman baru menghasilkan volume sampah yang besar setiap harinya, perlu dikelola dengan baik. Untuk mengurangi limbah sampah dapat diminimalkan dengan membuat perencanaan kapasitas volume sampah dan sumur resapan Biopori. Resapan Biopori merupakan teknologi tepat guna dan ramah lingkungan yang memiliki banyak manfaat antara lain meningkatkan muka air tanah, meningkatkan kualitas air tanah sebagai tempat pembuangan sampah, dan dapat mencegah timbulnya bencana banjir terutama di daerah perkotaan.

Abstract

Riyadhut Tafsir Islamic Boarding School in Parung Panjang, Bogor, faces limited access to clean water and remains dependent on external food supplies. This condition hampers students’ daily activities, especially during the dry season when water is scarce. The available water was not suitable for consumption due to the absence of filtration. Food problems also emerged since self-sufficiency in cultivation had not been achieved optimally. The aim of this activity is to enhance the self-sufficiency of the boarding school through appropriate technology, namely bore wells, a filtration system, and biofloc catfish cultivation. The methods included needs assessment, system design, implementation of bore well and filtration technology, construction of biofloc ponds, and training students in clean water management and fish farming. In addition, a pre test and post test were conducted to measure participants’ competency improvement. The results showed significant improvements in water availability, with a bore well discharge reaching 1.2 L/s, water quality improvement with turbidity reduced and pH stabilized at 7.1–7.4 after filtration. The boarding school now has 3 biofloc ponds with a capacity of 100 fish each, achieving a catfish survival rate of 95% after two months of cultivation. Knowledge evaluation results showed an average score increase from 25.0 (pre test) to 90 (post test), with all participants achieving the minimum competency standard of ≥75. Students were actively involved in maintenance, which significantly enhanced their technical skills. In conclusion, the application of bore well technology, a filtration system, and biofloc ponds successfully improved water and food self-sufficiency while effectively enhancing students’ competencies through appropriate technology-based training.

Abstract

A construction project's productivity significantly depends on its workforce's efficiency. This study examines the effect of different wage systems—daily wage and piece-rate (borongan) systems—on the productivity of construction workers, using a neural network model for analysis. Data were collected from workers at the ESP-Control Building Project of PLTU Units 9 & 10 through field observations and questionnaires. Productivity was assessed via the Work Sampling method, while SPSS software was employed to analyze key factors influencing worker performance. The results show that the piece-rate system is more effective in enhancing productivity than the daily wage system, as indicated by higher Labour Utilization Rates (LUR). A neural network model developed for productivity estimation achieved high accuracy, with R² values of 0.815 for the daily wage system and 0.817 for the piece-rate system. Practically, these findings can help project managers improve scheduling efficiency, minimize idle time, and reduce labor costs by adopting an appropriate wage system.
