Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies of the principal in managing the Tahfidz Al-Qur’an Program at Madrasah Aliyah Pondok Pesantren Darul Arifin Jambi. A qualitative research approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and validated using triangulation techniques. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the principal’s strategies in managing the Tahfidz program encompass visionary planning, collaborative organizing, adaptive implementation based on students’ abilities, and continuous evaluation of memorization outcomes. The principal plays a crucial role in coordinating tahfidz instructors, structuring learning schedules, and ensuring program consistency. This study highlights that strategic leadership of the principal is a key determinant in ensuring the effectiveness and sustainability of the Tahfidz Al-Qur’an Program in pesantren-based madrasahs.

Abstract

Financial Technology (FinTech) has significantly changed the landscape of Indonesia’s digital economy. On the other hand, the increasing non-domestic population in Indonesia, especially the student age group, also reflects the broadening demographic dynamics. This group plays a crucial role as a consumer in national economic growth. Despite the increasing growth of the national digital economy, the non-domestic population, especially the student age group, is doubtful about the acceptance of using FinTech. This paper investigated non-domestic students’ intention to use FinTech in Indonesia. The authors employed mixed methodology with an explanatory sequential design. Thus, this paper explored this narrative based on the technology acceptance model (TAM) and external factors such as Performance Expectancy (PE) and Social Influence (SI). Using the partial least squares (PLS) approach, data from the 75 non-domestic students in Indonesia were analyzed. In addition, this paper also utilized in-depth interviews to gather further information from participants. The thematic analysis of the semi-structured interviews was conducted to explore the non-domestic students’ experience of using Indonesian FinTech.

Abstract

Environmental degradation in Jambi City such as the pollution of the Batanghari River, increasing floods, and the decline of green open spaces demonstrates the urgent need to strengthen environmental conservation movements based on religious values. In this context, women activists occupy a strategic position as agents of change due to their close connection with community social dynamics. This community service program focuses on strengthening the capacity of women activists in mainstreaming ecotheology, utilizing local assets as internal community strengths, and developing cross-sector collaborative networks. The objectives include enhancing conceptual and practical competencies, optimizing local assets for ecological movements grounded in religious values, and expanding support through multisector partnerships. The program’s implementation shows that capacity building for women is a key factor in developing ecological awareness and encouraging environmental preservation at the community level. Conceptual and practical training strengthened skills in advocacy, leadership, and program management, enabling women to act as strategic drivers of change. The Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach ensures program sustainability by utilizing individual, social, cultural, and physical community resources. Networking with government, religious institutions, educational organizations, media, environmental communities, and the business sector reinforced movement consolidation and opened broader collaboration. These efforts have the potential to foster an inclusive, participatory, and sustainable ecotheology movement.

Abstract

Background: The study of fiqh in Indonesia remains largely dominated by a normative-textual approach, limiting its ability to address contemporary social complexities. Existing studies on Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) have not systematically examined his thought as a paradigm for contextual fiqh education. Purpose of the Study: This study aims to reconstruct a pedagogical model of contextual fiqh based on Gus Dur’s thought as an epistemological foundation for Islamic legal education in Indonesia. Method: This literature review employs a descriptive-hermeneutic approach. Data were drawn from Gus Dur’s major works on Islamic law, usul al-fiqh, adat, and Islamic thought and analyzed through discourse analysis to reconstruct a contextual fiqh pedagogical framework. Results: The study produced two main models of contextual fiqh pedagogy. First, a model of dialogue between fiqh and adat that integrates local culture, community needs, and social dynamics into learning without neglecting the fundamental principles of sharia. Second, a model of textual reinterpretation that guides students to distinguish between universal Islamic teachings (tsawābit) and contextual legal provisions (mutaghayyirāt) through the approaches of ushul al-fiqh, maqāṣid al-syarī’ah, and historical and sociological analysis. The analysis indicates that these models can support case-based learning, to foster contextual legal reasoning, the ability to derive legal rulings (istinbāṭ), and critical thinking in addressing contemporary issues. Conclusions: Gus Dur’s thought provides a strong epistemological and pedagogical foundation for reconstructing fiqh education in Indonesia. The proposed models bridge textual authority and social reality while maintaining the normative objectives of sharia, contributing to a more contextual Islamic legal education.

Abstract

A challenge with self-borrowing services is the investment cost for both software and hardware. A software license is required to connect INLIS [Integrated Library System] Lite with Radio Frequency Identification [RFID], which results in a high cost, especially when the software is only compatible with specific RFID devices. This study aims to look at the INLISLite Library Information System, focusing on implementing a self-borrowing service using microcontrollers and RFID technology. In this research, system development uses the prototyping method. This study developed a self-borrowing module for INLISLite without the need for licensed connector software. Additionally, the module is compatible with various microcontrollers and RFID devices that are readily available. The research proposes a novel model that utilizes RFID technology and NodeMCU ESP8266 for the INLISLite Library Information System. RFID sensors read book data from tags, while the NodeMCU microcontroller facilitates communication between the RFID system and the server, allowing automatic transmission of book data to the INLISLite database. This setup enables seamless self-service borrowing, which was tested successfully, supporting processes such as logging in, scanning book data, and updating loan status in the database.

Abstract

This study examines deep learning, rendered in Indonesian policy discourse as pembelajaran mendalam, through a comparative philosophical analysis of Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s educational philosophy and the philosophical foundations of Uzbekistan’s post-independence educational reform. A named primary corpus of two Dewantara volumes, one Indonesian ministerial regulation, and four Uzbek legal and strategic instruments was read through thematic content analysis guided by four dimensions: epistemic depth, learner agency, moral and existential formation, and contextual and cultural embeddedness. Deep learning is applied retrospectively as an analytical lens, not as a category either tradition used for itself. Both traditions contain principles that support it, articulated by Dewantara through the Sistem Among, Tri-Nga, and Trikon, and by Uzbekistan through the integration of Islamic-Turkic heritage with modernisation goals. Both reject instrumental education and commit to forming the whole person, while diverging between individual emancipation and collective nation-building. The paired reading shows the same four dimensions satisfied through opposite institutional routes, one bottom-up and community-anchored, the other top-down and state-anchored. Support is uneven: epistemic depth is philosophically elaborated on the Indonesian side but expressed on the Uzbek side as system architecture and benchmarking. The study contributes to decolonising deep learning discourse and proposes four testable propositions for bilateral cooperation.
