Abstract

The study was conducted at the Laboratory of Department of Animal Husbandry and Animal Cage, Lampung State Polytechnic. Object of study was fermented a mixture of palm kernel cake (PKC) and cassava (C), and a mixture of palm kernel cake (PKC) cassava byproduct (CBP) then to broilers applied. Fermentation research designed using completely randomized design factorial 2x2x6. The first factor was type of mold (Trichoderma viride and Aspergillus niger), a mixture of both of the second factor (PKC versus C and PKC versus CBP), and the third factor of mixture balance (100% PKC : 0% C or CBP, 80% PKC : 20% C or CBP, 60% PKC : 40% C or CBP, 40% PKC : 60% C or CBP, 20% PKC : 80% C or CBP, serta 0% PKC : 100% C or CBP). The results was applied to the broiler, completely randomized design with a 4x4 factorial pattern, the first kind of fermented best for each type of mold and the mixture of substances, the second factor in the level of use of fermented feed, namely 0, 10, 20, and 30%. The results of fermentation balance best mix: a) Trichoderma viride + PKC(60%) + C(40%) b) Trichoderma viride + PKC(80%) + CBP(20%), c) Aspergillus niger + PKC(60 %) + C (40%), d) Aspergillus niger + PKC(80%) + CBP(20%). Application results in broilers, namely: a) the use of a mixture of fermented counterpart [Trichoderma viride + PKC(60%) + C(40%)] with a level of 10% resulted in body weight (1342,67g), feed conversion (1,79), carcass weight (989,00) is the best, b) the use a mixture of fermented counterpart [Trichoderma viride + PKC(80%) + CBP(20%)] with a level of 20% resulted in a body weight (1334.67 g), feed conversion ratio (1,80), carcass weight (989,00 g) is the best, c) the use of a mixture of fermented counterpart [Aspergillus niger + PKC(60%) + C(40%)] with a level of 10% resulted in body weight (1408,67 g), feed conversion ratio (1,71), carcass weight (952,00 g) is the best, d) the use of a mixture of fermented counterpart [Aspergillus niger + PKC(80%) + CBP(20%)] with a level of 10% resulted in body weight (1357,00 g), feed conversion (1,77), carcass weight (923,00) is the best. Keywords: Palm kernel cake, cassava byproduct, cassava, Trichoderma viride, Aspergillus niger.

Abstract

The purpose of community service activities for waste treatment technology in the Telaga Rizky goat breeder group is to transfer waste processing technology, namely the manufacture of Liquid Organic Fertilizer so that farmers can overcome their waste control problems. The method of activities carried out in this service is monologue, grant, and practice. The transfer of technology for handling and processing waste at the Telaga Rizky goat breeder group really helps farmers in dealing with waste problems which have been a problem for them so far. In addition, they can also increase their income through the waste products they process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of fermented kiambang flour (Salvinia molesta) on rations against the quantity of peking duck carcasses. This research was conducted in the livestock cage of Lampung State Polytechnic. The research method carried out is a descriptive method. Data collection is done by taking samples from controls and treatment with a total of 15 ducks each at the end of maintenance. The result the treatment given in addition to 15% fermented kiambang flour in rations produces carcass weight (714.26 g), carcass percentage (52.49%), chest percentage (29.08%), thigh percentage (26.37 %), winged percentage (16.92 %) and abdominal fat percentage (0.77 %). Addition 15% fermented kiambang flour not affect to carcass weight, carcass percentage, chest percentage, winged percentage, and abdominal fat percentage.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the production cost of using fermented kiambang flour in Super Javanese chicken ration. The research method used descriptive method. Data collection was done by taking samples from controls and treatment with a total of 15 heads each at the end of maintenance. The average yield on the administration of fermented kiambang flour of 10% resulted in an IOFC value of Rp. 13,553 and control resulted in an IOFC value of Rp. 12,868. The average yield on the administration of fermented kiambang flour 10% produces a BEP value of Rp. 31,584 and control produces a BEP value of Rp. 33,636. The average yield on the administration of fermented kiambang flour 10 % produces an R/C value of 1,215 and at the control stage produces an R/C value of 1,180. The average yield on the administration of fermented kiambang flour of 10% produces a B/C value of 0.215 and at the control stage produces a B/C value of 0.180. It can be concluded that the use of fermented kiambang flour as much as 10% on super Javanese chicken rations can reduce production costs and have economic value.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using red ginger and brotowali either singly or in combination as herbal ingredients used in drinking water on broiler chicken productivity. This research was conducted at the Lampung State Polytechnic using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications and each replication consisted of 5 broiler chickens. The treatments consisted of: P0 = drinking water without the addition of red ginger and brotowali extract (control), P1 = drinking water + 1% red ginger extract, P2 = drinking water + 5.12 ml/kgbw of brotowali extract, P3 = drinking water + combination of red ginger extract and brotowali. The variables observed included ration consumption, body weight gain, ration conversion and mortality. The results showed that the addition of red ginger and brotowali extracts in drinking water, either singly or in combination, had a significant effect (P<0.05) on body weight gain, ration conversion and mortality, but had no significant effect on ration consumption. The conclusion of this study is that the application of herbal ingredients in drinking water can improve the productivity of broiler chickens. Keywords: broiler, red ginger extract, brotowali extract, productivity.
