Abstract

Islamic Education at first period was showed its superiority. It was proved by the emergency of superior, dinamic and creative generation. The generation from companions of the prophet, tabi’in and tabi’it tabiin are a sturdy generation, have a high comitment for moral values of Islam. Whereas on the pre-modern, Islam was suffered a decrease. Its quite alarming setback. Its period of deteriorate. This periode was identified as time of the demise of the Islamic struggle. So, education was not incised achievement then previous generations.

Abstract

Abstrak: Peran Pesantren dalam Pengembangan Ilmu-ilmu Keislaman di Indonesia. Keberhasilan pesantren dalam mengembangkan ilmu-ilmu keislaman klasik telah memberikan kontribusi konkret bagi perkembangan pendidikan nasional. Akan tetapi, munculnya sekolah formal dan Perguruan Tinggi Islam terutama pasca kemerdekaan menjadikan pesantren harus beradaptasi dengan lingkungan barunya. Studi ini adalah literatur review hasil penelitian pada tiga pesantren: Tebuireng, Tambakberas dan Gontor; bagaimana peran masing-masing dalam mengembang- kan ilmu keislaman melalui modernisasi pendidikan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Pesantren Tambakberas dan Tebuireng telah melakukan modernisasi dengan membuka sekolah formal dari tingkat MI dan SMP/MTs. sampai Perguruan Tinggi dan pada saat yang sama tetap menjaga tradisi klasiknya. Sebaliknya  pola pendidikan di Pesantren Gontor lebih mudah beradaptasi karena sejak awal pendiriannya telah menerapkan sistem pendidikan Modern.Abstract: The success of Pesantrens in developing Islamic sciences has significantly contributed to the development of national education. However, with the emergence of formal schools and universities, especially in the post-independence era the Pesantrens have to adapt to the novel system. This study is a literature review of research at three Islamic Boarding Schools namely, Pesantren Tebuireng, Tambakberas and Gontor; what role do they play in developing Islamic sciences through modernization of education. The research uncover that Pesantren Tambakberas Bahr Ulum and Tebuireng while maintaining the Islamic tradition each has modernized the educational system by providing formal schools at primary and elementary  to university levels. However, adaptation to modern system is much easier for Modern Pesantren Gontor as it has applied modern educational system since the beginning of its establisment.Keywords: pesantren, Islamic science, Indonesia, education

Abstract

Abstrak: Perbincangan pesantren Kabupaten Sampang tidak hanya mengenai operasionalisasinya dalam dunia pendidikan secara kognitif tapi sekaligus kearifan merefleksikan dalam skala sosial termasuk eksistensinya dalam merespon tranformasi sosio-politik. Karenanya, penting dilakukan penelitian untuk memahami secara holistik. Peneliti menggunakan tiga fokus, yaitu 1. Bagaimana inklusifisme pesantren dalam menyikapi gerakan politisi di Kabupaten Sampang? 2. Bagaimana inklusifisme pesantren dalam menyikapi perilaku pemilih di Kabupaten Sampang? 3. Bagaimana inklusifisme pesantren dalam menyikapi kinerja politisi pasca terpilih di Kabupaten Sampang?. Metode penelitian yang dipakai adalah deskriptif-kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa dalam menyikapi gerakan politisi di Kabupaten Sampang pesantren memilih sikap inklusif dalam tiga gerakan: nyabis, minta do’a dan memberi bantuan asalkan tidak politisasi pesantren. Dalam inklusifisme menyikapi perilaku pemilih di Kabupaten Sampang pesantren terbagi dua. Pertama, inklusif dengan membuka kebebasan pemilih dalam menentukan hak pilihnya sendiri. Kedua, ekslusif dengan memobilisasi rakyat untuk memilih sesuai dengan versi pesantren. Dalam inklusifisme menyikapi kinerja politisi pasca terpilih di Kabupaten Sampang pesantren sangat inklusif kecuali bagian kecil pesantren eks anggota Front Pembela Islam (FPI). Kata kunci: Inklusifisme, Pesantren, Sosio-Politik, Sampang.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of the tāsmiʿ method in maintaining the quality of Qur'an memorization among female students of Bait Tāḥfiẓh al-Qur'an (BTQ). BTQ students are active students from various departments who are required to memorize at least 3 juz per year, participate in dormitory activities, and participate in the ma'had program. The main challenges faced by the students include difficulty in dividing time for muraja'ah, lack of enthusiasm, and decreased motivation in maintaining memorization. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques that include observation, in-depth interviews with dormitory heads, administrators, and BTQ members, as well as documentation. The results of the study indicate that the tāsmiʿ method, which is applied routinely, both in the form of individual deposits and group muraja'ah, is effective in maintaining the quality of students' memorization. These activities include daily halaqah, deposits to teachers, partner-an, monthly tasmi’ khatmil, and personal strategies such as repeating memorization every day, marking verses that are often forgotten, and finding muraja’ah friends. The application of this method helps correct reading errors, improve concentration, and strengthen memorization. Students who are consistent show better memorization quality and self-confidence when submitting memorization. Although effective, the implementation of this method still needs improvement so that the results are more optimal.

Abstract

The low learning outcomes of students, caused by the limited variety of learning methods and media, are a problem that needs to be overcome in the world of education. This study aims to: (1) analyze the influence of the use of Smart Board digital media on improving student learning outcomes in fiqh zakat materials; and (2) comparing learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of a non-equivalent control group type. Data collection instruments include measurement of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects through pretest and posttest. The results of the analysis showed that the use of Smart Boards significantly improved student learning outcomes. In the cognitive aspect, the average score increased from 49.17 to 76.90 (p < 0.001); in affective aspects from 49.59 to 73.66 (p < 0.001); and on the psychomotor aspect from 49.56 to 73.79 (p < 0.001). Multivariate Variance Analysis (MANOVA) showed significant differences between the experimental and control groups (Wilks' Lambda = 0.524, F(3, 56) = 16.928, p < 0.001) with a Partial Squared Eta value of 0.476. Based on these findings, it was concluded that the use of Smart Board media contributed to an increase in student learning outcomes by 47.6%. The implications of this study show the importance of integrating interactive digital media in improving learning effectiveness.

Abstract

The creation of the law on the offense of the samen leven (cohabitation) in the new Criminal Code has reaped the pros and cons of society. Some support it, while others reject it on the grounds that the government is taking too much care of its citizens' privacy rights. Through this writing, the author wishes to analyze the creation of cohabitation offense laws from an Islamic perspective using a tool called fiqh. The research method used in this study was library research. The primary arguments in formulating Islamic views through this research are (1) Al-Qur'an, (2) Al-Hadith, (3) rules of jurisprudence and (4) at-turāṡ (yellow book). These primary postulates were then managed using a tafsīr (interpretation) approach to formulate the final conclusion. As a result of this research, the author found that from an Islamic perspective, the adoption of cohabitation as a law is in line with Islamic norms. However, jurisprudence does not necessarily agree with the content of articles of the law on cohabitation. Some articles are not in accordance with Islamic values. Therefore, in this case, the governent has an obligation to improve the content of the Samen Leven (cohabitation) Law.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the relevance and potential application of Hilda Taba's curriculum development model in the reform of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in madrasas, particularly through an integrated curriculum approach that emphasizes the linkage between Islamic values and 21st century learning needs. This research uses a qualitative method based on library research, by examining Hilda Taba's main works, national curriculum policy documents, and relevant academic literature in the field of Islamic education and curriculum development theory.The main focus of the study lies in a systematic examination of the core ideas of Taba, including the stages of need diagnosis, goal formulation, selection and organization of content, learning experience, and evaluation, and how these principles can be adapted in the context of madrasas.The results of the analysis show that the Taba model offers a participatory, reflective, and student-based curriculum approach. This approach is very suitable for the context of Islamic education in madrassas which have tended to follow a standard curriculum without adequate innovation space. By utilizing the Taba model, the PAI curriculum can be developed in a more contextual, integrative, and transformative manner that combines Islamic values with an active, collaborative, and character-oriented learning approach. In addition, this article also emphasizes the importance of the role of teachers as the main actors in curriculum development, as well as the need to change the evaluation paradigm in religious education from just cognitive measurement to assessment that includes affection and morality. These findings make a theoretical and practical contribution to the development of a responsive, relevant, and progressive Islamic curriculum, while strengthening the position of madrasas as educational institutions that are adaptive to changing times.

Abstract

This research discusses the contribution of Islamic civilization to the development of world science and technology and examines the role of Muslim scholars in shaping a scientific paradigm rooted in Islamic spiritual values and rationality. Based on the Eurocentric view dominating scientific historiography, the research gap identifies the urgent need for a comprehensive study that positions the Islamic contribution within an integrative, holistic, and value-based scientific paradigm. The novelty of this study lies in its comparative approach, demonstrating that Islamic scientific development possessed distinct epistemic, methodological, and ethical orientations thereby offering an alternative, ethically-oriented model of science insufficiently explored in previous research. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to reveal how Islam not only served as a medium for the transmission of knowledge from Greek civilization but also as an originator of a rational and ethical scientific method. This study uses a qualitative approach through a literature review by analyzing classical works of Muslim scholars and contemporary literature on the history of Islamic science. The results show that Muslim scholars such as Al-Battani, Al-Khawarizmi, Ibn Sina, and Al-Razi made fundamental contributions in the fields of astronomy, mathematics, medicine, and chemistry. Their contributions were not only technical but also epistemological, emphasizing the integration of revelation and reason as the foundation of knowledge pursuit. These findings indicate that the Islamic scientific paradigm is holistic, oriented toward public welfare, and rejects the dichotomy between science and religion. The implications of this research highlight the importance of reconstructing the epistemology of Islamic science in contemporary education and research contexts to build a just and sustainable civilization of knowledge. Thus, the reconstruction of Islamic science epistemology is not merely a historical endeavor, but a strategic step to rebuild the orientation of science rooted in the values of monotheism, ethics, and universal welfare. Penelitian ini membahas kontribusi peradaban Islam terhadap perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi dunia serta menguji peran para ilmuwan Muslim dalam membentuk paradigma ilmiah yang berakar pada nilai-nilai spiritual dan rasionalitas Islam. Berdasarkan pandangan Eurosentris yang mendominasi historiografi ilmiah, kesenjangan penelitian mengidentifikasi kebutuhan mendesak akan studi komprehensif yang memposisikan kontribusi Islam dalam paradigma ilmiah yang integratif, holistik, dan berbasis nilai. Kebaruan dari studi ini terletak pada pendekatan komparatifnya, yang menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan Islam memiliki orientasi epistemik, metodologis, dan etis yang berbeda, sehingga menawarkan model ilmu pengetahuan alternatif yang berorientasi etis yang belum cukup dieksplorasi dalam penelitian sebelumnya. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkapkan bagaimana Islam tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai media transmisi pengetahuan dari peradaban Yunani, tetapi juga sebagai pencetus metode ilmiah yang rasional dan etis. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui tinjauan literatur dengan menganalisis karya-karya klasik para ilmuwan Muslim dan literatur kontemporer tentang sejarah ilmu pengetahuan Islam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ilmuwan Muslim seperti Al-Battani, Al-Khawarizmi, Ibn Sina, dan Al-Razi memberikan kontribusi mendasar dalam bidang astronomi, matematika, kedokteran, dan kimia. Kontribusi mereka tidak hanya bersifat teknis tetapi juga epistemologis, menekankan integrasi wahyu dan akal sebagai fondasi pencarian pengetahuan. Temuan-temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa paradigma ilmiah Islam adalah holistik, berorientasi pada kesejahteraan publik, dan menolak dikotomi antara sains dan agama. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya merekonstruksi epistemologi ilmu pengetahuan Islam dalam konteks pendidikan dan penelitian kontemporer untuk membangun peradaban pengetahuan yang adil dan berkelanjutan. Dengan demikian, rekonstruksi epistemologi ilmu pengetahuan Islam bukan sekadar upaya historis, melainkan langkah strategis untuk membangun kembali orientasi ilmu pengetahuan yang berakar pada nilai-nilai tauhid, etika, dan kesejahteraan universal.
