Abstract

Abstract This  articles  is  based  on  a  study  that  aims  at  revealing  the  roles,  topics, and  discourse  and  its  meaning  in  the  programs  broadcasted  by  Kosmonita Radio  Station  in  Surabaya.  The  selected  programs  were  Women  Global  News, Lipstik, Insert, and Obrolan Perempuan (Women’s Talk). The study employed the discourse  analysis  model  proposed  by  M.A.K.  Halliday,  which  involved  field, people involved, and mode. The  study  reveals  that  the  studied  radio  programs  by  Kosmonita  Radio Station  contained  topics  that  were  either  enlightening  or  empowering  women. Those   programs   provided   perspectives,   vision,   suggestions,   and   problem solution.  The  commonly-discussed  topics  were  women’s  rights  in  reproductive health, marriage, interaction in public space, and equal treatment in workspace, from local to international scope, ranging from women’s condition in Surabaya to that around the world. The language style that was used in Women Global News was scientifically argumentative, accompanied with data to support the opinions. In the program. Some   English   terms   were   used   and   required   conceptual   comprehension. Meanwhile, more informal programs like Lipstik, Obrolan Perempuan, and Insert used  more  informal  language  style,  without  necessarily  losing  their  purposes of  enlightening  and  empowering  women.  Particularly  in  Obrolan  Perempuan, some familiar proverbs were also discussed and given criticism for their gender- biased messages.

Abstract

Pemahaman lintas budaya pengajaran bahasa asing memiliki peran yang sangat penting. Budaya patriarkri yang melekat pada Bahasa Jawa telah menjadikannya sebagai salah satu unsur budaya Indonesia yang memiliki kompleksitas tinggi. Unsur budaya yang tidak terpahami secara komprehensif seringkali mengakibatkan kesalah pahaman dalam proses pembelajaran lintas bahasa dan budaya. Artikel ini akan membahas kompleksitas bahasa jawa ditinjau dari sisi sosiolinguistik dan nilai-nilai budaya yang melekat padanya dengan harapan memiliki sumbangsih pemikiran terutama bagi pengajar asing yang akan bersinergi dengan para pemelajar yang berlatar belakang Bahasa Jawa.

Abstract

Stereotipe bisa menjadi penghambat dalam proses komunikasi, termasuk komunikasi antar budaya Indonesia dan Thailand yang telah memiliki hubungan bilateral yang cukup baik dalam bidang pendidikan. Mahasiswa pertukaran pelajar Universitas Negeri Surabaya mengikuti perkuliahan satu semester pada matakuliah ASE60-201 di Walailak University. Hasil dari riset ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam proses komunikasi dengan mahasiswa Thailand, dipengaruhi oleh tiga stereotipe yakni sikap, kemampuan dan komunikasi. Hasil dari riset ini menunjukkan bahwa stereotipe memiliki pengaruh yang negative dalam proses komunikasi antar budaya yang terjalin di antara mahasiswa Indonesia dan Thailand, dikarenakan adanya sugesti individu tanpa adanya fakta yang mempengaruhi performansi dalam komunikasi.

Abstract

Kraton Village, Krian District, Sidoarjo Regency is one of the pioneering Pancasila villages. Krian District borders Balongbendo District which was once the center of the spread of radicalism, precisely in the Islamic Center. This area is one of the places of study that is often filled by Abu Bakar Ba'asyir. The Kraton Village area has also indicated that there are educational institutions that have begun to invite studies whose directions are indicated to influence the community on invitations that lead to a reduction in the sense of nationalism towards the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. The partner's condition is currently in a state of crisis of Pancasila values ​​due to the radicalism that is developing around the partner area. Therefore, it is important for partners to provide more knowledge regarding the importance of Pancasila values ​​in everyday life, but partners also experience obstacles in disseminating information more quickly and effectively to the public due to lack of knowledge about digital technologyThis study aims to provide training on the development of digitalization of local wisdom based on mobile apps which can later be used by the people of Kraton Village to disseminate information related to Pancasila values ​​more effectively and efficiently. The results of the study indicate that training activities are effective in increasing public knowledge about digitalization, and with the development of Mobile Apps, it is effective in increasing the level of public awareness regarding the values of Pancasila.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of critical thinking skills and digital literacy on national insight. The method used in this study is a quantitative method by testing the validity and reliability. The data collection method in this study used a questionnaire distribution method to rural youth in Sidoarjo. The results of this study are the relationship between critical thinking and nationalism in Sidoarjo rural youth showing a path or original sample value of 0.594 and showing a positive relationship, the t-count value is 4.773 higher than the P value of 1.96 and lower than the Sig value of 0.004, which is less than 0.05, indicating that critical thinking has a positive value and a significant effect on the national insight of rural youth. Whereas in the relationship between digital literacy and national insight, the path value (original sample) is 0.208, reflecting a positive relationship, with a t-count value of 4.773 higher than t-table 1.96 and lower than the Sig value. 0.00 which is less than 0.05, indicating a positive and statistically significant relationship between digital literacy and national insight among young people.

Abstract

Teachers are professional educators with the main task of educating, teaching, guiding, directing, training, assessing, and evaluating students in early childhood education through formal education, basic education, and secondary education. Teachers must have a minimum academic qualification of bachelor (S1) or diploma (D-IV), master competence (pedagogic, professional, social, and personality), have an educator certificate, be physically and mentally healthy, and have the ability to realize national education goals. The method in this activity is training and assistance in the preparation of learning tools and media. In the early stages, participants are given explanations or lectures related to concepts and knowledge about language learning. In the next stage, participants are invited to discuss the problems they face when carrying out learning in class. In order for the activity to be directed, participants are given a worksheet during the mentoring which contains an analysis of the learning that has been done and efforts to improve it. To solve the problems faced by the target audience, namely teachers, it is carried out through community service with a participatory approach. The results obtained during the program received positive responses from the training participants (teaching staff) regarding the programs that had been implemented by the research team so far. This response is evidenced by the number of agreements from the training participants, and also the many positive responses from the participants which they filled in the questionnaire column. Abstract

Keterampilan berbicara merupakan mata kuliah wajib yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan mahasiswa yang terampil dalam berbicara. Dalam mata kuliah tersebut, terdapat teori dan praktik. Kegiatan praktik dalam perkuliahan keterampilan berbicara telah dilakukan. Bentuk kegiatan praktik tersebut berupa mendongeng, presentasi, melaporkan berita, dan kegiatan lain. Sayangnya, kegiatan tersebut belum dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara mahasiswa. Tidak semua mahasiswa melaksanakan praktik berbicara dengan baik dan bersemangat. Berdasarkan hal tersebut penelitian ini bertujuan melakukan eksperimen berupa proyek video kreatif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara mahasiswa. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes dan tugas proyek. Data berupa nilai pretest, posttest, dan nilai video kreatif. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia yang terdiri atas dua kelas. Analisis data dilakukan dengan statistik sederhana. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah proyek video kreatif dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa yang terbukti dari nilai video kreatif, nilai keterampilan berbicara mahasiswa, dan peningkatan nilai pretest ke posttest yang lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol. Selain itu, melalui proyek video kreatif motivasi mahasiswa dalam mengikuti perkuliahan dan melaksanakan tugas juga meningkat. Abstract

Abstract: The mandate of Law Number 14 of 2005 concerning Teachers and Lecturers states that teachers are required to have academic qualifications, competencies, educator certificates, physically and mentally healthy, and have the ability to realize national education goals. The preparation of teachers as professional educators is also stated in Government Regulation Number 19 of 2017 concerning Amendments to Government Regulation Number 74 of 2008 concerning Teachers. The State University of Surabaya has been trusted to implement PPG In Position (Daljab) starting in 2018 – now which is being funded by APBN funds. The purpose of this study is to identify and obtain various information related to the level of satisfaction of PPG graduates who participate in PPG activities at the State University of Surabaya. The type of research used is descriptive research. The population in this study is all PPG participants in the range of 2018 - 2020. The samples used in this study are representatives of PPG who have graduated in 2018-2020 for the Madiun, Ngawi and Magetan areas along with the principals where PPG alumni teach. Data collection methods used are interviews and questionnaires. The data obtained will be analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. Based on the results and discussion of the data obtained, it can be concluded that the level of management in the implementation of PPG Unesa received a good - very good response. This is indicated by the responses given by PPG Unesa student alumni through a questionnaire distributed using the google form.

Abstract

Penelitian berjudul “Tindak Tutur Ilokusi dalam Perkuliahan Daring dalam Masa Pandemi Covid-19 Mahasiswa Angkatan 2018 Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia Unesa” ini bertujuan menemukan bentuk tindak tutur ilokusi dan fungsinya dalam pertuturan kuliah daring masa pandemic Covid-19 mahasiswa angkatan 2018 Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia. Penelitian ini termasuk penenelitian pragmatik dan bersifat deskriptif. Sumber data adalah pertuturan dalam perkuliahan daring mahasiwa angkatan 2018 dan data berupa tuturan yang mengindisikasikan tindak tutur ilokusi dan fungsinya. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode simak libat cakap dengan teknik baca dan catat. Data dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif-interpretatif. Melalui penelitian ini ditemukan (1) bentuk tindak tutur ilokusi asertif, direktif, dan ekspresif dan (2) fungsi tindak tutur ilokusi sejalan dengan jenis tindak tutur yaitu menyampaikan pernyataan, meminta petutur melakukan sesuatu, dan menyampaikan ungkapan terima kasih serta pujian.
