Abstract

This study aims to produce Student Worksheets with the title Appreciation Novel Based on Character Education. This research and development method modifies and collaborates the theories of the development of Gall, Gall, and Borg and the theory of development of Tessmer. Student Worksheets produced in this study through validation tests by three experts covering aspects of feasibility: material, language, presentation, and graphics. Based on the validation of the three experts, the conclusion is that the Student Worksheet is valid and worthy of being tested with revisions according to the comments and suggestions of experts. Then the Student Worksheets are tested one-to-one and small groups which result that the Student Worksheet is practical to use. The field trials were conducted through pretest and posttest, the average value of the students'novel appreciation increased from 57.07 to 82.80 (difference 25.74). Thus, the Student Worksheet Appreciation of Novel Based on Character Education is effective in improving the ability of students to appreciate the novels they read.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan 1) interaksi antara guru dan peserta didik, 2) pengelolaan kelas dalam mentransaksikan topik (materi, tujuan, kompetensi dasar) dalam wacana interaksi kelas, dan 3) realisasi peran guru dalam pembelajaran. berbasis Analisis Wacana Kritis (AWK). Sampel penelitian terdiri dari para guru dan peserta didik kelas XI Jurusan Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial dari tiga sekolah menengah atas dan madrasah aliyah negeri di wilayah Banyuasin III dan Pangkalan Balai, Banyuasin District. Data didapat dengan menggunakan metode simak bebas libat cakap, teknik rekam, dan teknik catat. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis interaksi kelas (AWK) dan analisis wacana kritis. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat berbagai pola satuan interaksi kelas, pola pengelolaan kelas, dan realisasi peran guru yang menunjukkan adanya perubahan paradigma. Perubahan itu menimbulkan adanya pergerseran dominasi guru di dalam kelas menuju hegemoni. Kata-kata kunci: interaksi, transaksi topik, paradigma, dominasi, hegemoni Abstract: This research was aimed to describe 1) interaction between teacher and student, 2) classroom management in transactioning topic (materials/aim/base competence) in classroom interaction, and 3) realization of teacher’s role as an actor in learning based on Critical Discourse Analysis. The sources of the data of this research were teachers and 11th grade students of social science from three senior high schools in the area of Banyuasin III and and Pangkalan Balai sub-districts, in the didtrict of Banyuasin. The data were gained using listening method consisting of tapping and note techniques and analyzed by using spoken interaction and critical discourse analysis. The result of analysis showed that there were some patterns of classroom interaction, various patterns of classroom management, and realization of teacher’s role showing a change in paradigm. The change causes a shift in teacher’s domination in cclassroom towards hegemony. Keywords: interaction, topic transaction, paradigm, domination, hegemony

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research was to find out the literacy quality of junior high school (JHS) students in Palembang. To achieve the goal, a survey on students’ reading literacy achievement in relation to their attitude towards and interest in reading bahasa Indonesia (BI) as National Language was conducted. To collect the data, the Functional Reading Achievement Test (FRAT) and the questionnaire of Attitude Towards and Interest in Reading Literacy (ATIReaL) were distributed to 191 students. Then to know about the perception of the stakeholders on literacy education, a set of Literacy Education Questionnaire (LEQ) was also filled in by 136 parents, 132 teachers, 31 principals, 32 librarians, and 44 superintendants. In addition, some representatives of the stakeholders were also interviewed to see what they have done and would like to do in terms of students’ literacy education enhancement. The results showed that (1) students’ functional reading achievement (FRA) is on average level, 57.20; (2) there are some aspects of ATIReaL correlated significantly with students’ FRA; and (3) most of the stakeholderss agree that literacy education of JHS students need to be developed and enhanced by having appropriate programs and facilities based on national standards of education. Key words: bahasa Indonesia, functional reading, junior high school students, literacy education, reading attitude, reading interest   Abstrak:  Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kwalitas literasi dari peserta didik Sekolah Menegah Pertama (SMP) di Palembang. Untuk menemukan jawabannya, dilakukan survey pada kemampuan literasi membaca para siswa yang berhubungan dengan sikap terhadap membaca dan minat mereka dalam Bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa nasional. Functional Reading Achievement Test (FRAT) dan angket Attitude Towards and Interest in Reading Literacy (ATIReaL) diberikan kepada 191 siswa. Kemudian, untuk mengetahui persepsi para pimpinan mengenai pendidikan literasi, angket Literacy Education Questionnaire (LEQ) diberikan kepada 136 wali murid, 132 guru, 31 kepala sekolah, 32 pustakawan, dan 44 pengawas. Wawancara juga dilakukan kepada perwakilan pimpinan untuk mengetahuai apa yang telah and akan mereka lakukan untuk meningkatkan pendidikan literasi peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahawa (1) pencapaian membaca fungsional para peserta didik berada pada tingkat menengah, 57.2; (2) ada beberapa aspek dari ATIReaL yang berhubungan secara signifikan terhdap FRA para peserta didik: (3) dan pada umumnya para pemimpin menyetujui bahwa pendidikan literasi siswa SMP perlu dikembangkan dan ditingkatkan melalui program dan fasilitas yang sesuai berdasarkan standar nasional pendidikan.  Kata-kata kunci:  bahasa Indonesia, membaca fungsional, siswa SMP, pendidikan literasi, sikap baca, minat baca

Abstract

Efforts to change people's behaviors to support the improvement of health status are carried out through the Clean and healthy living behavior (CHLB) development program. Although this program has been implemented by the Ministry of Health in Indonesia since 1996, CHLB implementation has not run optimally. Evaluation of CHLB development's success is carried out by looking at CHLB indicators, one of which is in the school setting. CHLB at school is an activity to empower students, teachers, and the school community to adopt a healthy lifestyle to create healthy schools. This study aims to increase the students' knowledge, attitudes, and actions regarding CHLB in Madrasah Diniyyah, Al Islam Educational Institution, Talang Aur Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province.The study uses action research. This activity is carried out by providing communication, information, and education (KIE) regarding CHLB. In addition, we offer knowledge tests about CHLB and demonstrations by practicing how to wash hands correctly and adequately using clean water and soap to increase students' understanding of CHLB activities. This study emphasizes the importance of socializing clean and healthy life early through integrating learning programs in schools. The results showed an increase in the target audience's knowledge, attitudes, and actions about CHLB. The benefits of CHLB in schools include creating a clean and healthy environment, improving the teaching, and learning process, and making students, teachers, and the school environment healthy.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the social aspects in Tere Liye's novel 'Tanah Para Bandit' and their implications for Indonesian language learning. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The research data consists of dialogues sourced from the novel. The data collection technique used in this research is the listening and note-taking technique. The steps of data analysis are reading the entire novel, identifying data related to social aspects, classifying data, interpreting data, and implementing it in Indonesian language learning. Based on the results of the analysis, there are 98 data on social aspects, including 35 data on culture which includes beliefs, symbols, arts, norms, morals, politics, worldviews, 30 data on social environment which includes social relations, criminality, population, professions, social classes, and 33 data on economics which includes production, distribution, consumption, income, poverty, and lifestyle activities. The results of the research can be implemented as teaching materials in analyzing short story or novel texts in the material of developing prose appreciation with an environmental theme in Indonesian language learning at phase F or class XI for the Independent Curriculum High School. The implementation of this research is in the form of a teaching module and Student Worksheet (LKPD).

Abstract

Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Lanskap Linguistik (LL) di kota Palembang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi lapangan dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan metode agih. Ditemukan 127 data penggunaan multibahasa, yaitu bilingualisme menjadi ciri yang paling menonjol (64,57%), diikuti monolingual (22,05%) dan multilingual (13,39%). Variasi bahasa meliputi bahasa Indonesia (BI), bahasa Inggris (BIng), bahasa Palembang (BP), bahasa Arab (BA), bahasa Jawa (BJa), bahasa Mandarin (BM), bahasa Minang (BMi), bahasa Jepang (BJp) bahasa Belanda (BB), dan bahasa Korea (BK). Distribusi bahasa berdasarkan lokasi juga menunjukkan pola yang signifikan. Di restoran dan papan iklan jalan, dominasi BI—BP dan BI—Bing menunjukkan strategi komersial untuk menjangkau audiens lokal dan global, sekaligus menegaskan identitas Palembang. Tempat umum dan layanan transportasi cenderung menggunakan BI—BIng untuk informasi universal dan keselamatan, dengan sesekali menyertakan BP sebagai bentuk akomodasi lokal. Tempat wisata menampilkan percampuran bahasa yang lebih kompleks, termasuk BI, BP, BIng, serta bahasa asing lain seperti BB, BK, BJp, dan BM, yang bertujuan menarik wisatawan dan melestarikan warisan sejarah. Terakhir, sekolah swasta berbasis Islam dan tempat ibadah menunjukkan penggunaan BI—BA yang kuat, sementara BI—BM ditemukan di tempat ibadah yang merepresentasikan identitas religius dan etnis yang beragam. Secara keseluruhan, LL Kota Palembang menunjukkan manifestasi visual yang kaya akan multikulturalisme, sejarah, dan dinamika sosial ekonomi yang terus berkembang.
