Abstract

Concerns about the waning identity of Balinese architecture led the Provincial Government of Bali to issue Perda No. 2, 3, 4 of 1974, which was later revised to No. 5 of 2005 concerning Architectural Requirements of the Building. . This requirement emphasizes that building architecture in Bali must have the characteristics of Balinese traditional architecture, especially in tourism areas where there are many tourist accommodations. But on the other hand, there are various perceptions and interpretations according to the interests of each architect regarding the Architectural Requirements of the Building. Architects as practitioners in architectural design have a responsibility to maintain environmental quality, especially architecture in Bali. This study aims to identify the Architectural Requirements from an architect's point of view. The subject is architects who practice in Bali, selected by purposive sampling technique with the keyword tourist accommodation architectural designers in Bali. The variables of the design process that are the focus of the study are aspects of creativity dan critical issues. This study uses a qualitative descriptive analysis method, namely by using a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Data analysis was performed by ranking each statement variable to obtain a comparison between the architect's interpretation variables. This study identifies two broad categories, namely how architects view traditional Balinese architecture as a priority issue that must be considered in designing and how the architect's cognitive response to Architectural Requirements in the design process.

Abstract

Economic development in urban areas indirectly changes the function of residential areas into commercial areas. Along with the development of the function of the Gajah Mada area, the threat of decreasing the visual quality of Jalan Gajah Mada as an artifact of the corridors of the Denpasar Old Town area naturally cannot be avoided. The need for increased trading space, high building density, development of economic functions that are more commercial in nature due to the demands of profit and modernization as well as a slum environment can also eliminate the visual character of the physical corridor of Jalan Gajah Mada which still retains the characteristics of Balinese architecture and the image of Kota Tua because Therefore, it is necessary to study the visual characteristics of the physical corridors of Jalan Gajah Mada so that directions regarding the arrangement should be considered in accommodating changes in the physical corridors so that they remain visually aligned. This research method is a type of descriptive research using qualitative methods. Descriptive research is a research that aims to provide a systematic, factual, accurate description of the facts and characteristics of the population so that it can produce the physical characteristics of the Jalan Gajah Mada corridor as seen from the path elements, architectural patterns and street trees that surround the corridor.

Abstract

Environmental pollution is a common problem that often affects an area. One of them is river pollution. River pollution also occurred in Peliatan Village. The condition of one of the rivers, namely the Mas River, was once used as a landfill or TPA. The role of the community in helping to overcome pollution problems is an initial step that can become a foundation in overcoming river pollution problems in Peliatan Village. In Bali, the existence of community groups is still closely felt, especially in overcoming and finding a problem. Local community groups have a major role in providing aspirations for the progress of their own region. The theory of community empowerment and community based development is the theoretical basis for implementing this research activity. The quality of the riverside space is measured from the indicators of the quality of the waterfront space according to Sutrisno (1997) and is presented descriptively. Research using qualitative methods with case studies and using observation and interview techniques. This method is used to be able to understand and discover phenomena in the field in depth. The results of the study showed that the condition of the river before handling river pollution was that its banks were filled with garbage and made into a landfill. The condition of the river afterwards is that the river becomes clean, orderly and made more attractive with the addition of wall carvings and sculptures. The reappearance of the bad debt tradition and visits from outside the area to Peliatan Village. The role of the community as the dominant role and in collaboration with the Service Village and Traditional Village. Contributions from local communities both in terms of ideas, ideas and material as an important capital in overcoming problems in their own area. This capital will be very useful for development in villages or cities.

Abstract

Abstract: Urban growth in the 21st century is characterized by massive urbanization, creating complex challenges related to urban form and mobility. This study examines the correlation between urban form and urban mobility in developing countries through a systematic literature review using the SALSA method (Search, Appraisal, Synthesis, and Analysis). A total of 20 articles published between 1999 and 2024 were analyzed, focusing on variables such as density, land-use mix, street connectivity, and transit accessibility. The findings indicate that compact, mixed-use, and well-connected urban forms encourage public transport use, walking, and cycling, thereby reducing dependence on private vehicles and lowering emissions. Conversely, urban sprawl exacerbates congestion, pollution, and energy consumption. Developing countries face unique challenges, including socio-economic disparities, dominance of informal transport, and limited data and governance capacity. These findings highlight the importance of integrating spatial planning with sustainable mobility policies. The study concludes that compact and inclusive transit-oriented development, supported by pedestrian- and cyclist-friendly infrastructure and regulation of informal transport, is essential for achieving sustainable and equitable urban mobility. Keyword: Urban Form, Urban Mobility, SALSA. Abstract

Abstract: Traffic congestion at intersections with limited spatial capacity is a common problem in urban areas, leading to decreased movement efficiency, environmental quality, and user comfort. This study aims to identify the factors causing congestion and to formulate mitigation strategies based on the relationship between spatial functions, area activities, and road space capacity. This research employs a quantitative approach using the Relative Importance Index (RII) method to assess the significance of factors contributing to traffic congestion at intersections along the Jalan Pulau Galang corridor, Pemogan Village, Denpasar City. The results indicate that high traffic volumes, limited intersection space capacity, roadside activities, and inadequate supporting facilities and infrastructure are the main contributors to congestion. These findings suggest that traffic congestion is not solely caused by technical vehicle movement issues, but also by an imbalance between spatial functions, activity intensity, and road space capacity. The proposed mitigation strategies focus on area spatial restructuring and improving the quality of road space as public space, including the control of roadside activities, intersection spatial reorganization, and the enhancement of spatial legibility and user comfort. This study emphasizes the importance of spatial and architectural approaches in understanding and addressing traffic congestion problems at spatially constrained intersections within an integrated road corridor system. Abstract

Kata kunci:Alih Fungsi Lahan, daerah pinggiran kota, lahan pertanian, Desa Batubulan ABSTRACT The increase of land use as a settlements, bussiness facilities and public facilities will decrease agricultural area and transform into non agricultural functions. This phenomenon is usually often occurs in urban fringe areas such as Batubulan Village as a suburbs of Denpasar. Batubulan has a strategic position because it is geographically located in the intersection of the tourism attraction route Sanur-Sukawati-Celuk-Ubud, and also supported by the existence of inter-city terminals built around 1984. This is further supported by the program of development of the area in Bali which focuses on four main cities In Bali, namely Denpasar-Badung-Gianyar-Tabanan (Sarbagita) into cities that are priority areas of Central Bali as well as a fast growing area. Batubulan located in Sarbagita area development zone and declared as a magnet counter area (buffer zone) of Denpasar City. Based on the results of the analysis obtained, there has been a significant conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural land that affect the physical condition, population and socio-economic areas in Batubulan. The development of spatial pattern from time to time as an implication of the land conversion and the occurrence of economic aglomeration. If there is no unified control and planning, the development of settlements that "feed" urban fringe areas may pose a threat to human survival and the balance of the surrounding ecosystem. This paper examined how the development of regional spatial patterns that occurred in the Batubulan as urban fringe area which originated from several points of momentum from the empire until 2016. The analysis method which used is descriptive qualitative analysis reinforced by quantitative data and overlay mapping techniques.
