Abstract

Pertashop, developed by PT. Pertamina, is a small-scale gas station business designed to meet the fuel needs of vehicles in suburban areas while maintaining fuel quality. Variations in land use functions can lead to different travel attractions, leading to varied arrival patterns and potential traffic flow disruptions, thus impacting road quality around Pertashop locations. This study seeks to investigate the traffic characteristics and arrival patterns at small-scale gas stations such as Pertashop, providing a basis for development planning and optimizing services in the suburban areas of Semarang City. Using qualitative and quantitative descriptive research methods, the study analyzes the relationship between land use factors and traffic characteristics on Pertashop vehicle service patterns. The findings indicate that the traffic flow around Pertashop follows the Underwood model, demonstrating that vehicles entering Pertashop hinder the traffic flow on surrounding roads.

Abstract

Improving the quality of teachers must and must always be improved in order to support learning activities in schools, especially geography teachers. In geography subjects, teachers must be able to teach students directly how to make thematic maps digitally, therefore, learning in class is not only limited to theory but also directly practiced so that students can understand more easily and learning in class becomes effective. However, the conditions in the field are that teachers still experience difficulties and obstacles in teaching students how to practice making maps digitally using software. One of the obstacles faced by teachers is because the price of the software is so expensive, therefore our community service team tries to use free software (open source), namely Quantum GIS (QGIS). The development of geographic information system technology, especially software, is developing very rapidly and quickly. therefore it is important for teachers to be able to follow technological developments in the field of geographic information systems, especially Quantum GIS (QGIS) software. This community service activity aims to improve practical skills and also update the development of geographic information system technology, especially using Quantum GIS (QGIS) software in the geography teacher group in the Madrasah Aliyah environment in Batang Regency. The activity will be carried out in the form of socialization to provide knowledge for geography teachers regarding updates on the development of geographic information system technology, as well as workshop activities and practical training in data processing and digital map making using Quantum GIS (QGIS) software..Peningkatan kualitas guru harus dan wajib selalu ditingkatkan dalam rangka mendukung kegiatan pembelajaran disekolah dalam hal ini khususnya guru geografi.

Abstract

The Route modification for the Trans Semarang feeder line 1 resulted in the creation of feeder line 1A. To evaluate the effectiveness of this change in addressing critical community needs, an analysis was conducted. This study utilized passenger boarding and alighting data obtained through origin-destination surveys, combined with land use data from the Google Earth application. Findings revealed inconsistencies and fluctuations when comparing passenger movement patterns with land use values. The feeder transportation function was deemed effective, with the highest proportion of passengers (23.53%) boarding at the transit shelter. Conversely, the segment between Jalan Perkebunan and Desa Ngadirgo shelters exhibited the lowest passenger volume, attributed to long distances between shelters, extensive forested and plantation areas, and a one-way route. These factors suggest potential benefits of rerouting. Further research is recommended to comprehensively evaluate the broader implications of such modifications.

Abstract

The implementation of pilot Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems in metropolitan agglomerations, such as Trans Jateng, plays a pivotal role in providing affordable public transportation, enhancing regional connectivity, and fulfilling Minimum Service Standards (MSS). This study evaluates the operational performance of two specific Trans Jateng corridors: Corridor 1 (Semarang – Bawen) and Corridor 6 (Semarang – Grobogan). The primary focus of this research is the analysis of time-series load factor data to assess bus performance. Data were gathered through on-board surveys utilizing Global Positioning System (GPS) devices and structured survey instruments. The data collection was conducted over a period of two weekdays and one weekend day. The analytical results indicate that both corridors experience significant kelebihan penumpang during peak hours, with load factors exceeding 170% in Corridor 1 and 110% in Corridor 6. Furthermore, this study identifies distinct fluctuations in passenger demand patterns between weekdays and weekends, as well as variations between individual trips within the same corridor. The findings reveal a notable disparity in average load factors. In Corridor 1 during weekdays, the load factor for the Semarang – Bawen route was 55.73%, while the Bawen – Semarang route reached 38.81%; on weekends, these figures shifted to 60.46% and 40.03%, respectively. In Corridor 6, the weekday load factor for the Semarang – Godong route was 46.05% and 39.25% for the reverse direction, whereas weekend figures were recorded at 51.49% and 34.68%. Given that the ideal minimum load factor is 70%, more systematic operational management is necessitated to maintain optimal service performance. Proposed recommendations include the dynamic adjustment of fleet size to align with demand levels—particularly during peak periods—and the implementation of more adaptive capacity management strategies. Such measures are intended to regulate load factors during high-demand intervals, enhance passenger comfort, and improve the overall operational efficiency of the transit service.
