Abstract

Lahan pertanian terutama di wilayah perkotaan dan pinggiran kota, saat ini banyak yang beralih fungsi menjadi daerah pemukiman. Desa Cilebut Barat yang berada di pinggiran kota Bogor Kabupaten Bogor pun tak luput dari imbas pesat dan masifnya urbanisasi. Wilayah ini mengalami alih fungsi lahan yang tak terbendung dari degradasi lahan pertanian menjadi pemukiman. Daerah perumahan yang dibangun, dipaksakan untuk menampung lonjakan pendatang, sehingga area terbuka untuk luasan tanaman dan serapan air hujan semakin sempit. Betonisasi jalan komplek menyebabkan desa Cilebut Barat sering mengalami banjir saat musim hujan dan kekeringan saat musim kemarau. Suasana lingkungan perumahan terkesan gersang dan tidak segar karena sangat kurangnya area penghijauan. Data desa menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar warga desa adalah pensiunan pegawai, ibu rumah tangga, dan profesi lepas lain yang masih kesulitan memenuhi kebutuhan primer hidupnya. Mereka sangat mengidamkan lingkungan yang asri dan produktif, tetapi terkendala dengan pengetahuan, biaya dan lahan yang sempit terbatas. Tim Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) Universitas Terbuka Bogor tertantang untuk membantu memberi alternatif solusi menciptakan lingkungan yang asri, sekaligus mengembangkan kegiatan berestetika, sehat, dan produktif. Program yang ditawarkan adalah edukasi, pendampingan pelatihan, dan praktik memanfaatkan teknologi vertikultur hidroponik pada lahan sempit pekarangan. Vertikultur hidroponik adalah sistem tanam dengan media air di dalam wadah/paralon yang disusun/dirakit secara vertikal atau bertingkat pada lahan terbatas. Tanaman yang direkomendasikan adalah tanaman pangan sayuran karena dapat dijadikan sebagai bagian dari gaya hidup (life style) dalam memenuhi kebutuhan pangan keluarga. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di lingkungan RT 07/RW 09 pada bulan September-Oktober 2020 dengan peserta sejumlah 48 orang warga desa. Kebermanfaatan program terlihat dari peningkatan pengetahuan, keterampilan, aktivitas sosial kebersamaan warga desa dalam menciptakan lingkungan hijau, indah, kreatif yang berpotensi menopang kehidupan ekonomi sehari-hari.

Abstract

Climate change could lead to an increase in diseases in plants and animals. Plant pathogens have caused devastating production losses, such as in tropical countries. The development of algorithms that match the accuracy of plant and animal disease detection in predicting the toxicity of substances has continued through a massive database. Data and information from 10,000 substances from more than 800,000 animal tests have been carried out to generate the algorithms. Plant and animal disease detection using artificial intelligent in the modern ecological era is important and needed. Diseases in animals are still found in several Ruminant-Slaughterhouses. The purpose of the study is to identify the leverage attributes for using of Artificial Intelligent (AI) in detecting plant pests and animal diseases. The use of Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) produces a leverage attribute for the use of AI in detecting plant pests and animal diseases. The results showed that leverage attributes found were: Prediction of the presence of proteins structures produced by pathogens with a Root Mean Square (RMS) value of 4.5123; and Plant and Animal Disease Data will be opened with an RMS value of 4.2555. The findings of this study in the real world are to produce the development of smart agricultural applications in detecting plant pests and animal diseases as an early warning system. In addition, the application is also useful for eco-tourism managers who have a natural close relationship with plants and animals, so that ecological security in the modern ecological era, can be better maintained.

Abstract

EMPOWERING CREATIVE ECONOMY: DIVERSIFICATION OF PROCESSED CHICKEN PRODUCTS IN TANAH SAREAL, BOGOR. The demand for food of animal origin (PAH) is increasing rapidly in Bogor. The demand dominated by broiler products from the Pondokrumput chicken shelter and slaughter facility (TPnA), Tanah Sareal. The TPnA business unit is located in densely populated settlements and sometimes causes social, economic and environmental problems. There is a negative perspective on the neglect of the TPnA business unit in community involvement so that it has negative implications for the existence of the business unit. One of the efforts to reduce its negative impact is to invite the community around TpnA to participate in the processing of TpnA's fresh chicken production into the advanced processed chicken, among others by using the "ungkep" chicken technique. The prospect of the “ungkep” chicken market is promising and can contribute to improving the local community's economy. Chicken "ungkep" has many variations of the preparation to meet the needs of public consumption. Besides, the use of basic spices, spices and proper cooking techniques in chicken produces flavour, without the need for flavourings. This chicken product certainly meets the rules of safe-healthy-whole-halal (ASUH) and is durable. This community service activity was expected to contribute to inspiration, motivation, insight, and creativity. Another contribution is to provide increased knowledge, experience and added value to the business unit for shelters, chicken slaughterhouses (TpnA). Finally, this activity is also useful for local communities who do not yet have a small business base.

Abstract

The understanding of traditional communities about waqf is very limited, traditional paradigm only know that waqf is only in the form of fixed assets such as land and buildings. Over time cash waqf emerged. But there are still many traditional paradigm who do not know and disagree about cash waqf. Education is a very important factor to create the character of a nation. Educational Waqf is an important instrument in the development of Islamic community education. Therefore, waqf is needed for the Islamic education sector. This research seek disclosure how the management of waqf for education in Indonesia and Malaysia is able to present a perspective and model that can be used as a reference for the management of waqf in optimalizing education sector using comparative descriptive methods. The results of this study are optimization of the education sector waqf by making professional waqf management institutions, optimizing existing assets by involving stakeholders and requiring the role of government in the collection and management of waqf.

Abstract

Every management of tutorial activities, the Open University has equipped it with a set of systematic control tools to ensure course competencies can be achieved, including Tutorial Activity Design – Tutorial Activity Unit (RAT SAT), Tutorial Meeting Notes (CPT), and Attendance List of tutors and students. In the CPT document, the tutor must inform at each tutorial meeting about the lecture material based on RATSAT, the obstacles faced by students in mastering the lecture material, and follow-up to overcome related obstacles. However, CPT information still does not function optimally, such as the achievement of RAT SAT which is not clearly conveyed, or the constraints / difficulties of students in mastering certain sub-subjects. The research aims to minimize the weaknesses of tutorial control tools by utilizing software that can be accessed from tutor and student gadgets. All logging will be done in real time which can also be used in tutorial regions that have difficulty accessing internet signals. This research method is descriptive qualitative research. Thus, the University as a tutorial organizer can quickly and easily monitor and correct the weaknesses of tutorial management in its work area.

Abstract

Food is one of the absolute basic needs that must be met by humans to live a normal and healthy life. Food security will be safe if food supply is maintained. Food supply can be constrained when agricultural land becomes limited. The occurrence of the COVID-19 pandemic has worsened the business of providing food to non-agricultural areas such as in urban/suburbs. The stagnation of the distribution chain, the non-channeling of supply, and the decline in people's purchasing power due to layoffs (PHK) pose challenges for them to be able to make independent efforts to meet these needs. Departing from the preliminary survey information that the characteristics of suburban residents in West Cilebut village, Bogor Regency who: (a) like to eat fish and vegetables as their daily food intake; (b) wish to carry out limited activities in their own environment due to the strict implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM); (c) motivated by the success of settlement groups that have implemented hydroponic verticulture; and (d) there are abandoned public facilities that want to be reused, the Community Service Team (PkM) of the Bogor Open University is called upon to disseminate and assist fish farming businesses both in buckets (budikdamber) and in limited ponds, namely by applying the use of technology. aquaponics verticulture. This multi-technical method combines aquaculture (fish farming) and hydroponics (farming using water) in a symbiotic environment, where fish (animal food source) and plants/vegetables (vegetable food source) can grow in the same container. The activity was carried out with a participatory learning approach in the form of training and practice in RT 04 RW 09 in September-November 2021. This activity was attended by 30 villagers who were supported by local leaders. The results of the activities show significant changes and improvements in knowledge, skills, passion for creativity, and activities among villagers by making the fish and vegetable cultivation area a meeting-point area for social activities as well as a place to independently strengthen food security. Pangan merupakan salah satu kebutuhan pokok mutlak yang harus dipenuhi oleh manusia untuk hidup normal dan sehat. Ketahanan pangan akan aman jika penyediaan pangan terjaga. Penyediaan pangan dapat terkendala ketika lahan pertanian menjadi terbatas. Kejadian Pandemi covid-19 memperburuk usaha pengadaaan pangan ke wilayah non pertanian seperti di perkotaan/pinggiran kota. Tersendatnya rantai distribusi, tidak tersalurnya pasokan, dan menurunnya daya beli masyarakat akibat pemutusan hubungan kerja (PHK) memberikan tantangan tersendiri untuk dapat melakukan upaya mandiri dalam memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut. Berangkat dari informasi survei pendahuluan bahwa karakter warga pinggiran kota di desa Cilebut Barat Kabupaten Bogor yang: (a) gemar menyantap ikan dan sayuran sebagai asupan makanan sehari-hari; (b) ingin melakukan aktivitas terbatas di lingkungan sendiri akibat ketatnya pemberlakuan pembatasan kegiatan masyarakat (PPKM); (c) termotivasi atas keberhasilan kelompok pemukiman yang telah menerapkan vertikultur hidroponik; dan (d) terdapatnya lahan fasilitas umum terlantar yang ingin dimanfaatkan kembali, maka tim Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) Universitas Terbuka Bogor terpanggil untuk melakukan diseminasi dan pendampingan usaha budidaya ikan baik dalam ember (budikdamber) maupun dalam kolam terbatas, yaitu dengan menerapkan pemanfaatan teknologi vertikultur akuaponik. Metode multi teknik ini mengkombinasikan antara akuakultur (budidaya ikan) dan hidroponik (bercocok tanam menggunakan air) dalam lingkungan yang bersifat simbiotik, dimana ikan (sumber pangan hewani), dan tanaman/sayuran (sumber pangan nabati) dapat tumbuh dalam satu wadah yang sama. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan pembelajaran partisipatif berupa pelatihan dan praktik di RT 04 RW 09 pada bulan September-November 2021. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 30 warga desa yang didukung oleh tokoh-tokoh setempat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan perubahan dan peningkatan pengetahuan, keterampilan, gairah kreativitas, dan aktivitas yang signifikan pada warga desa dengan menjadikan area budidaya ikan dan sayuran sebagai area meeting-point dalam kegiatan sosial sekaligus tempat memperkuat ketahanan pangan secara mandiri.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat yang menjadi salah satu tugas pokok tim dosen pelaksana, pada tahun 2022 dilaksanakan di MI Al-Hikmah, Depok yang diperuntukan bagi 15 orang guru yang memerlukan peningkatan kompetensi dalam membuat media pembelajaran yang efektif dan menarik bagi anak didik. Kebutuhan tersebut merupakan salah satu dari banyak kebutuhan yang teridentifikas ketika tim melakukan survey dan need assessment di sekolah tersebut. Bersama mereka, tim dosen menyusun startegi pelaksanaan kegiatan PkM termasuk penyusunan jadwal kegiatan dan jenis peralatan (hibah) yang diperlukan mitra guru dalam proses pembelajaran. Dengan lima kali pertemuan tatap muka mitra guru belajar dan praktik tentang bagaimana memanfaatkan program Canva untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran dan infografis. Selain tatap muka tim juga melakukan pendampingan dan supervisi secara jarak jauh yang dilaksanakan diantara lima pertemuan tatap muka.  Di setiap pertemuan, mitra-guru harus mempraktikan keterampilan yang telah diajarkan dan mendemontrasikan karyanya kepada tim dosen pelaksana. Selain Canva, mitra guru juga mempelajari dan mempraktikan penggunaan dua program pendukung, yaitu Prezi Video dan Sketchfab untuk memperkaya media pembelajaran mereka. Di akhir kegiatan, yaitu pada pertemuan terakhir, mitra-guru mempraktikan penggunaan karya mereka dalam pembelajaran di kelas masing-masing. Dari 15 orang guru yang mengikuti kegiatan ini telah dihasilkan delapan media pembelajaran dan dua belas infografis. Beberapa karya tersebut telah diikutkan dalam Gelar Hasil Senmaster UT tahun 2022. Testimoni mitra-guru adalah materi pelatihan dari tim sangat membantu mereka menabitans materi pembelajaran yang lebih menarik dan membuat siswa lebih fokus. Community Service, which is one of the main tasks of the implementing lecturer team, will be held in MI Al-Hikmah, Depok in 2022 which is intended for 15 teachers who need increased competence in making effective and attractive learning media for students. This need is one of the many needs identified when the team conducted a survey and need assessment at the school. Together with them, the lecturer team developed a strategy for implementing Community Service activities including preparing a schedule of activities and types of equipment (grants) needed by partner teachers in the learning process. With five face-to-face meetings, the teacher partners learned and practiced how to use the Canva program to produce learning media and infographics. In addition to face-to-face meetings, the team also provides remote assistance and supervision which is carried out between five face-to-face meetings. At each meeting, teacher-partners must practice the skills that have been taught and demonstrate their work to the implementing team of lecturers. Apart from Canva, teacher partners also learn and practice using two supporting programs, namely Prezi Video and Sketchfab to enrich their learning media. At the end of the activity, namely at the last meeting, teacher partners practiced using their work in learning in their respective classes. Of the 15 teachers who took part in this activity, eight learning media and twelve infographics were produced. Some of these works have been included in the UT Senmaster Results Degree in 2022. Partner-teacher testimonials are training materials from the team that really help them make learning materials more interesting and make students more focused.

Abstract

Identifying factors affecting students’ success is important. This is a study on creativity of biology students to solve their learning problem. The participants are biology students at Universitas Terbuka (UT), the only single mode distance learning university in Indonesia. conducting online tutorial in introductory biology. Descriptive and bivariate correlation statistics data are collected, including one dependent variable about improvement of problem-solving skill and six independent variables. The six independent variables are problem identification, information searching, idea generation, analogy, integrating different concepts, and idea testing. Demographic data are age, gender, and length of daily online activities. There are 73 students returned the survey with 23.4% response rate. Most students (more than 60%) agree to some extent in all the variables. There are different levels of agreement about the use of online tutorial regarding gender, age and length of daily online activities. There are only two out of six independent variables that have significant correlation (0.05 significance level, two-tailed) with improvement of problem-solving skill, which are analogy and idea testing.
