Abstract

MSMEs, as the main pillar of the Indonesian economy, have great potential to drive inclusive and sustainable economic growth. However, they face challenges, such as low financial literacy and lack of utilization of digital technology. This study analyzes the impact of financial literacy and adoption of digital payments (QRIS) on the sustainable performance of MSMEs in Pamekasan, Madura, using a causal quantitative method with purposive sampling and a 5-point Likert scale survey. The research procedure includes data instrument testing, classical assumption testing, and hypothesis testing. The results show that financial literacy and digital payments each have a significance value of 0.003 and 0.001, respectively, indicating a significant positive effect on MSME performance. Simultaneously, both also contribute significantly to the sustainable performance of MSMEs in Madura, with a significance value of F of 0.001. Business experience also plays an important role in the sustainability of MSMEs. The synergy between financial literacy, digital technology, and business experience creates conditions that support the sustainable performance of MSMEs, in line with the government's efforts to accelerate economic growth through creative MSME campaigns and encourage technology-based innovation.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of funding sources on the efficiency of salt production in Karanganyar Village and Pinggirpapas Village, Kalianget District, Sumenep Regency, known as the largest salt-producing area in Madura. The research population was salt business actors in Madura, totaling 880 people. The sample was determined using the Slovin formula and an error rate (standard error) of 10% (0.1), resulting in a sample of 89 respondents. Data was collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS software, and the statistical method used was a simple linear regression test. The research results show a significant positive relationship between funding sources and salt production efficiency. This can be seen from the regression coefficient of 0.101 with a p-value <0.05, which shows that the better the access to funding sources, the more efficient the salt production process will be. These findings emphasize the importance of the availability and accessibility of funding sources to increase production efficiency in the salt sector.

Abstract

The management of DIPA (Daftar Isian Pelaksanaan Anggaran) plays a strategic role in ensuring the effectiveness of budget utilization within the Air Force Finance Office (DISKUAU). As an institution responsible for managing state finances, DISKUAU must uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and efficiency in implementing DIPA to support staff performance and overall organizational operations. However, in practice, the implementation of DIPA still faces challenges such as regulatory complexity, limited human resources, and the lack of an integrated information system. This research aims to analyze how DIPA management can improve DISKUAU staff performance using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data is obtained through observations, interviews, and document studies regarding the implementation of DIPA within DISKUAU. The research findings indicate that optimizing information systems, providing more intensive staff training, and enhancing inter-unit coordination positively impact the effectiveness of budget management. With  better  financial   management,   DISKUAU staff  can  work more  productively, improve financial administration accuracy, and accelerate budget realization. Additionally, this research identifies several key obstacles in DIPA implementation, such as the limited capacity of human resources in understanding financial policies and the suboptimal use of technology. To address these challenges, DISKUAU is expected to increase technical training, develop a more integrated financial information system, and strengthen budget oversight mechanisms. The implications of this research highlight the need for continuous improvements in DIPA-based financial management systems to ensure optimal staff performance sustainability. Through system reforms and staff capacity enhancement, the effectiveness of DIPA implementation within DISKUAU can be maximized, allowing the organization to achieve its strategic goals

Abstract

Successful forest rehabilitation in the upstream is essential to enhance upstream ecosystem functions for living systems. It is believed that the community's perception of the benefits and costs incurred by forest rehabilitation activities substantially impacts its implementation. Therefore, this research aims to determine the community's perception of the impacts (benefits and losses) and attitude of forest rehabilitation in the neighborhood of Wonorejo Village, located in the upper of the Bengawan Solo watershed. A questionnaire-based survey was conducted to explore community perceptions of the benefits of forest rehabilitation, perceived losses, and attitudes toward forest rehabilitation. In total, this research succeeded in collecting 307 respondents. The results suggest that forest rehabilitation facilitates several forest-based ecosystem services, including landslide prevention, water conservation, flood mitigation, forest preservation, and community collaboration. Nevertheless, the most frequently observed adverse consequence of forest rehabilitation is the proliferation of pests and diseases among forest vegetation. Moreover, the community generally has a positive attitude towards the forest rehabilitation program, considering that forest rehabilitation is an activity that is useful, wise, and profitable for the community. Hence, the results of the present study suggest that to ensure the success of forest rehabilitation, managers should not solely concentrate on the benefits of the initiative but also devise policies capable of mitigating its adverse effects and improving residents' positive attitudes toward forest rehabilitation initiatives.

Abstract

ABSTRACT COVID-19 pandemic has deteriorated nature-based tourism sectors around the world. Indeed, tourism site managers’ perceptions of and mitigation strategies to COVID-19 play a significant role in ensuring tourism operationalization and its management amidst pandemics. Using the case of Curug Cipeteuy, a community-based tourism destination in Gunung Ciremai National Park (GCNP), we investigate managers perceptions on COVID-19 and understand their mitigation strategies amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. A questionnaire survey, depth interviews, and field observation were conducted. We found that while managers' opinion of COVID-19 was relatively low, they hold high agreement in supporting tourism development amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. These could be related to those managers who are proud of tourism and its promising benefits to their area. Furthermore, both structural and non-structural mitigation strategies were done to overcoming pandemic impacts and inviting visitors. Abstract

National parks (NPs) have become a rapidly growing segment of nature-based tourist destinations. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted tourism activities across Indonesian NPs. While existing studies have scrutinized the impact of COVID-19 on tourism, studies that focused on clustering residents adjacent of NPs to support tourism amidst the COVID-19 pandemic remain underexplored. To unveil how residents are clustered, we assess residents in Ngadisari and Wonokitri villages based on their distinctive opinions of perceived benefits (PB), perceived costs (PC), perceived health risks (PHR), and support for tourism (ST). Totally, 354 respondents were obtained. We found that residents are clustered into two clusters named tourism supporters and cautious supporters. Tourism supporters are identified by their high agreement on PB and ST, and low agreement with PC. In contrast, Cautious supporters hold lower agreement in PB and ST, and higher agreement on PC and PHR. Our findings revealed that residents are heterogeneous and constitute a distinctive group of opinions and interests. Therefore, the design of policies and interventions should be adjusted based on those clusters. Key words: national park, perceived health risk, social exchange theory

Abstract

Nature-based tourism in national parks (NP) plays a significant role in promoting environmentally responsible behavior (EB) among individuals. While studies on visitors’ EB are increasing, research focusing specifically on visitors’ EB in NPs within developing countries, such as Indonesia, remains limited. This study aims to identify factors shaping visitors’ EB through an extended Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) at Gunung Ciremai National Park (GCNP). To explore the dimensions and mechanisms of EB—categorized as environmentally conservative behavior (ECB), environmentally disturbing behavior (EDB), and environmentally radical behavior (ERB)—an extended TPB framework was utilized. TPB examines the relationships among the following latent variables: attitude toward behavior (ATB), subjective norm (SN), perceived behavioral control (PBC), environmental behavior intention (EBI), and environmental behavior (EB). Data were collected from 452 completed questionnaires at three nature-based destinations in GCNP. The study demonstrates clear evidence that the hypothesized relationships among ATB, SN, PBC, EBI, and EB were valid across different types of environmental behavior. The results highlight that these determinant factors work together in shaping visitors’ environmental behavior based on TPB. However, their influence may differ depending on the specific type of behavior being considered. The study underscores the need for NPs managers to go beyond simply raising visitors’ awareness of the importance of environmental conservation. Efforts should also focus on enhancing visitors’ self-efficacy in performing environmentally responsible behaviors.
