Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dampak perkembangan wisata Srambang Park dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan data kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui metode observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Tokoh masyarakat yang dipergunakan sebagai informan ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam rentang bulan November-Desember 2022. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa wisata Srambang Park memiliki kekuatan dalam pengembangan kegiatan pariwisata, seperti: daya tarik wisata alam, budaya, lokasi yang strategis dengan akses yang mudah untuk dijangkau. Kelemahan yang dimiliki yaitu: minimnya kemampuan sumber daya manusia lokal dalam berkomunikasi bahasa asing, tenaga kerja lokal belum menguasai potensi pariwisata secara komprehensif, serta minimnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam menjaga kebersihan lingkungan. Peluangnya yaitu: adanya dukungan pelaku pariwisata, kunjungan wisatawan yang cenderung kembali ke alam, dan merupakan jalan pintas menuju Sarangan dan Candi Ceto. Tantangan yang perlu diantisipasi yaitu: terjadi persaingan antar desa wisata sejenis, dan pencemaran lingkungan. Untuk itu pemerintah diharapkan lebih berkontribusi dalam memberikan pendidikan dan pelatihan kepada masyarakat lokal. Masyarakat diharapkan lebih bersungguh-sungguh dalam menyiapkan diri guna mampu bersaing secara kompetitif dengan obyek wisata serupa

Abstract

This study aims at finding the significant difference in writing achievement in descriptive text between the students who were taught by using Frayer Model and those who were not of the eight grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Pagaralam. The methodology of the research was quasi experimental research. The findings related the research questions showed that the value of t-obtained was 7.395, at the significance level .000., in two tailed testing with df = 58, the critical value of the t-table was 2.045. Since the value of t-obtained was higher than the critical value of t-table, the null hypothesis (H0 ) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha ) was accepted. The result revealed that the pre-test and the post test showed such a meaningful outcome where in the pre-test of experimental class most of students were in poor level, while in the post test most of students achieved enough level. It means there was significant difference in students writing achievement in descriptive text between the students who were taught by using Fayer Model and those who were not of the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Pagaralam. It implies that frayer model was effective to improve students writing skill especially in exploring their thoughts or ideas.

Abstract

Anxiety has a big role in affecting students' performance in learning English, especially in speaking class. This study aimed to answer three questions: (1) the anxiety level the EFL students got in a speaking class, (2) some factors influence it, and (3) some strategies that can be used to minimize the level of students’ anxiety. This research used a qualitative approach by adopting a questionnaire as an instrument. The participants of this study were 113 students; 68.1% female and 31.9% male students; from 4 different universities in Indonesia from different departments (an English and non-English departments). The results of this study showed that the student’s level of anxiety was still high which was affected by internal and external factors. Those factors tended to decide the level of their anxiety. In addition, this study also showed some suggestions that can be used as strategies to minimize the level of the student’s anxiety.
