Abstract

Pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap materi perkuliahan dipengaruhi oleh media dan sumber belajar yang digunakan. Kurangnya kemampuan menganalisis dan penalaran terhadap materi yang diajarkan khususnya perkuliahan kimia dasar menimbulkan rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis mereka. Mahasiswa kesulitan dalam menggunakan dan menginterpretasikan berbagai jenis representasi kimia (misalnya, menggambar atau menafsirkan struktur; menetapkan nama berdasarkan rumus struktur, dan menganalisis struktur). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul pembelajaran kimia berbasis multipel representasi pada materi kimia dasar yaitu stoikiometri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian R&D yang mengadopsi pengembangan dari Borg & Gall. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kota Langsa bertempat di Ruang Kelas Belajar Prodi Pendidikan Kimia dari bulan Februari 2019 sampai Agustus 2019. Sampel yang digunakan adalah mahasiswa tingkat I atau semester II dengan pertimbangan kelas hanya terdiri dari satu unit dan materi stoikiometri hanya ada pada perkuliahan kimia dasar semester II. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan tes. Analisis data menggunakan analisis data skala likert. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu nilai kevalidan modul sebesar 90,5% ahli materi, dan ahli media sebesar 91,5%; kepraktisan modul dilihat dari angket respon siswa sebesar 87,17 dan 86,89; serta nilai keefektifan modul dilihat dari nilai ketuntasan belajar siswa sebesar 80,4%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh disimpulkan bahwa modul yang dikembangkan telah layak, praktis dan efektif digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of feedback from local content-based practicum modules on students' science process skills. Research subjects for product trials developed in this study were students of class XI using a purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 60 students. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental (quasi-experimental). The research instrument was a feedback rubric on applying a local content-based practicum module, observation sheets, and tests on the results of Science Process Skills (KPS). Data processing and analysis is carried out by comparing the initial and final science process skills scores by looking at the science process skills N-Gain score. Hypothesis testing uses the T-test to apply a local content-based practicum module on science process skills by analyzing the initial and final science process skills scores. The highest percentage result lies in the indicator of planning an experiment or investigation and using experimental tools and materials, namely 90%. There is a difference between a class that implements a local content-based practicum module and is given feedback with a class that uses a regular module for each class. The experimental class had an N-gain value of 0.75 or in the high category, while the control class had an N-gain value of 0.64 or in the moderate category. There are differences in students' Science Process Skills (KPS) using local content-based practicum modules with conventional practicum modules.

Abstract

Abstrak: Saat ini dunia sedang fokus pada penanganan wabah virus COVID-19 yang sudah dinyatakan sebagai pandemi pada awal Januari 2020. Desa Lhok Banie Relokasi Perumahan Pusong adalah salah satu wilayah di kota Langsa yang sudah dinyatakan sebagai daerah zona merah penyebaran COVID-19 oleh Bapak Walikota. Terdapat 9 kasus positif COVID-19 pada bulan Agustus 2020 di wilayah ini. Maka dari itu dilakukan suatu penanganan dengan cara menjaga kebersihan dari virus tersebut. Tujuan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini adalah pelatihan mengenai penerapan alat cuci tangan portable dengan teknik moveable hand washer yang bisa digunakan dan dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat desa sebagai upaya mencegah penularan Covid-19. Peserta pengabdian adalah masyarakat Desa Lhok Banie Relokasi Perumahan Pusong Kota Langsa Provinsi Aceh. Metode yang digunakan yaitu survai mitra, desain alat, konsultasi desaian, pembuatan alat, penyerahan alat, pelatihan penggunaan dan pelatihan perawatan alat. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah alat dapat dimanfaatkan dengan baik dan bermanfaat bagi masyarakat di lingkungan masyarakat Desa. Alat cuci tangan ini telah digunakan dengan baik oleh warga masyarakat Desa Lhok Banie Relokasi Perumahan Pusong. Setelah mendapat penyuluhan tentang pentingnya cuci tangan, berdampak pada peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat untuk cuci tangan. Abstract: Currently the world is focusing on handling the COVID-19 virus outbreak which was declared a pandemic in early January 2020. Lhok Banie Village Pusong Housing Relocation is one of the areas in Langsa city that has been declared a red zone area for the spread of COVID-19 by the Mayor. There were 9 positive cases of COVID-19 in August 2020 in the region. Therefore, a treatment is carried out by maintaining the cleanliness of the virus. The purpose of this Community Service activity is training on the application of portable hand washing equipment with a movable hand washer technique that can be used and utilized by village communities as an effort to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. The service participants are the people of Lhok Banie Village for Pusong Housing Relocation, Langsa City, Aceh Province. The methods used are partner survey, tool design, design consultation, tool manufacture, tool delivery, use training and tool maintenance training. The results obtained are that the tool can be used properly and is beneficial for the community in the village community. This hand washing tool has been used well by residents of Lhok Banie Village for Pusong Housing Relocation. After receiving counseling about the importance of hand washing, it has an impact on increasing public awareness to wash hands.

Abstract

In today's digital environment, using technology in learning is a requirement for staying relevant to the needs of the twenty-first century. The goal of this study is to develop learning tools that combine Project-based learning (PjBL) with STEM-based e-learning to assist students enhance their creative thinking skills and self-regulation. This study is a quantitative descriptive study using a one-shot case study research design and a research sample of 25 high school students in class for the academic year 2020/2021. The N-Gain score is used to collect data using test and non-test instruments before and after treatment to assess if there is an improvement in learning outcomes. All indicators of critical thinking skills and self-regulation increased as a result of the study. On the fluency indicator, the creative thinking skills indicator received the highest score of 0.86, while self-regulation received the biggest rise on the organizing and transforming indicator with a score of 0.83. Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to train people to make simple tools that can detect the presence of formalin and borax in food so that people are helped in choosing safe food ingredients. The target partners of the training activities were mothers in Meurandeh Dayah Village. Based on preliminary search, partners have not yet realized the dangers of food containing prohibited additives such as formalin, borax and harmful dyes to health. Partners also do not know the simple way to detect the presence of formalin, borax, and forbidden dyes such as Rhodamine B in food. Therefore, the activities carried out include socialization about the dangers of prohibited additives in food and training to make simple tools to detect the presence of formalin and borax using turmeric and toothpicks. The activity continued with the practice of detecting the presence of prohibited additives in food using simple tools that have been made. This activity contributes to improving the level of public health through the skills to choose food that is safe for health.Keywords: training, borax, formalin, harmful dyes, additives.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has plagued almost all parts of the world. The virus is transmitted by droplets, droplets, or in medical terms known as droplets when someone coughs, sneezes, or talks. There are two ways of transmitting the corona virus through droplets, namely directly and indirectly. The use of masks in preventing direct transmission of the virus is an important thing to do. Making waterproof masks made from polyester fabrics that are waterproof, splash or droplet seepage is an alternative for people to get proper masks without having to spend a lot of money. The use of a waterproof mask made from polyester cloth is not only more economical, but also more environmentally friendly because it can be reused. The simple manufacturing process and easy and inexpensive materials allow this business to be accepted by the community. This waterproof mask making training can improve the readiness of the people of Langsa City, especially Lhokbanie Village, to face the Covid-19 pandemic. The mask products produced from this training can also be used repeatedly so that they can protect the environment.

Abstract

Abstrak: Indonesia merupakan negara kepulauan yang hampir dua pertiga wilayahnya berupa lautan. Salah satu produk hasil laut yang dihasilkan dan sangat terkenal dikalangan masyarakat adalah terasi. Sebagai salah satu kota yang terletak dipantai pesisir timur Aceh, kota Langsa menjadi salah satu kota penghasil terasi terbesar di Provinsi Aceh. Namun peningkatan produksi akan menurun jikalau musim hujan datang, dikarenakan pelaku usaha terasi di Kota Langsa menemukan kendala pada proses pengeringan. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian adalah meningkatkan hasil dan kualitas produk terasi serta pemahaman mitra melalui inovasi teknologi berupa sistem pengering terasi berbentuk tipe lorong. Inovasi ini bermanfaat bagi mitra untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan mengenai solusi menghasilkan terasi meskipun musim penghujan tiba. Kegiatan dilaksanakan disalah satu pelaku usaha atau UKM di Gampong Simpang Lhee yaitu usaha Terasi Awaina. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei mitra, desain alat, konsultasi desain, pembuatan alat, penyerahan alat dan evaluasi produk yang dihasilkan. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah sebuah alat teknologi berupa sistem pengering terasi tipe lorong seperti rumah yang dapat menampung 5-10 kg udang sabu basah dan terdiri dari 2 penampungan berbentuk laci sebagai pengganti pengering manual dan dimodifikasi dengan teknologi sistem surya dan pemanas sehingga mampu memproduksi terasi dalam jumlah yang lebih banyak, kadar air lebih sedikit yaitu 20-30% serta waktu yang lebih singkat yaitu kurang dari 24 jam. Alat teknologi ini juga dilengkapi dengan penutup ruangan sehingga mampu meningkatkan kualitas terasi menjadi lebih higienis dan bersih.Abstract: Indonesia is an archipelagic country which almost two-thirds of its territory is ocean. One of the seafood products produced and very well known among the public is shrimp paste. As one of the cities located on the east coast of Aceh, Langsa city is one of the largest shrimp-producing cities in Aceh Province. However, the increase in production will decrease if the rainy season comes, because the shrimp paste business in Langsa City finds obstacles in the drying process. The purpose of the service activity is to increase the yield and quality of shrimp paste products as well as the understanding of partners through technological innovation in the form of an aisle-type shrimp paste drying system. This innovation is beneficial for partners to increase knowledge about solutions to produce shrimp paste even though the rainy season arrives. The activity was carried out in one of the business actors or SMEs in Simpang Lhee Village, namely the Awaina Terasi business. The methods used are partner survey, tool design, design consultation, tool manufacture, tool delivery and product evaluation. The result obtained is a technological tool in the form of a hallway-type shrimp paste dryer system that can accommodate 5-10 kg of wet shabu prawns and consists of 2 drawer-shaped reservoirs as a substitute for manual dryers and modified with solar and heating system technology so as to be able to produce shrimp paste in large quantities. which is more, less water content is 20-30% and shorter time is less than 24 hours. This technology tool is also equipped with a room cover so that it can improve the quality of the shrimp paste to be more hygienic and clean.

Abstract

The development of technology and science in the 21st century has been running very rapidly, with these developments students need to be equipped with 21st century skills to be able to compete in the era of globalization, especially in the field of education. The lack of use of learning media causes low motivation and interest in learning for students in understanding acid-base material. This can be proven based on a needs analysis of five chemistry teachers at public high schools in Langsa City. This study aims to determine the feasibility and attractiveness and responses of students about the Student Worksheet Based Guided Inquiry Integrated STEM on acid-base materials. This study uses the R&D model ADDIE. The instruments used in this study were a material and media expert validation questionnaire, a teacher response questionnaire and a student response questionnaire. The results of the student worksheet analysis showed that the validation assessments of material experts, media experts, teacher responses and student responses each reached a percentage of 84.8%, 89.34%, 89.82% and 95.56%, which means that student worksheet Based Guided Inquiry Integrated STEM on acid-base material is very suitable to be used as teaching material and the attractiveness criteria of student worksheet is very interesting

Abstract

Today the electronic learning has developed because in line with the demands of the that sorely on technology. Assessment is one of the important elements in instructional activities and to support e-learning appear the electronic assessment. This study aims to develop an electronic learning chemistry assesment (Element) digital application through project based learning (PjBL) on the concept of applied chemistry. The research method used is the research and development method. The research subjects for the product trial developed in this study were students of the class of 2019/2020 with a purposive sampling technique with a sample of 24 students. This research instrument uses a needs analysis questionnaire, expert validation before and after revision, student response and small-scale trials. The assessment component contained in the application consists of quiz assignments, practical, product, project and final. The validation results were analyzed using content validity ratio (CVR) analysis and each criterion was then calculated the content validity index (CVI) or average value. The results showed that the Element through PjBL on applied chemistry concepts had been validated by material and media experts with an average CVI of 0.9 or the very valid category. The results of the small-scale test of the electronic-virtual assessment for of learning application for students obtained an average percentage of 93.9% with the criteria of "very interesting". Furthermore, the data on increasing students' scientific performance has increased by 0.70 with a high category and is strong effectively used to improve student scientific performance

Abstract

Student worksheets give students the opportunity to participate in hands-on learning, discover strengths and learn from their mistakes. This research aims to produce student worksheets with creative values through the Project Based Learning model on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution materials.  This research is a development research, the method used in this research is the R&D (Research and Development) method with the ADDIE model modified into ADD, namely Analysis, Design and Development. The instrument in this research is a needs questionnaire, media and material expert feasibility questionnaire, teacher response questionnaire and student response questionnaire. The results showed that chemistry teachers need student worksheets with creative values through the Project Based Learning model on the material of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions. The feasibility of student worksheets was obtained at 77.08% with a feasible category, the practicality was in the very practical category with an average score of 89.50% and the attractiveness of student worksheets in the very attractive category with an average score of 89.97%. So it can be concluded that the developed creative value-loaded student worksheets is feasible to use in learning.
