Abstract

The Theory section of the applied master thesis is not easy to write. Research that has investigated the writing efforts and strategies for these parts is also not found. Therefore, this article presents a theoretical part writing model in a genre-based applied master thesis. This model is the result of research conducted with a development research approach. The result is (i) the main needs that need to be written in this section are to describe the theory so that this section needs to be written on the basis of text and report descriptions, (ii) description is the type of text that explains something as it really is; the structure of the description text is (a) something that is explained, (b) part of something described, (iii) report is a type of text that classifies something in its class; Report text structure is (a) things that must be reported, (b) classes / subclasses, (iv) description texts and report texts have linguistic characteristics that are used that need to be referenced so that the author is able to write the theory section correctly and quickly

Abstract

This study aims to ascertain whether there is an interaction between self-regulating rules and student learning outcomes in applied mathematics courses. This study uses the product-moment correlation method from Karl Pearson. The research sample of 57 students was determined by convenience sampling. The data were obtained from questionnaires and midterm math scores. Data analysis methods use descriptive percentages, basic tests for linear regression, and SPSS version 16.0 for hypothesis testing. The findings of this research indicate that self-regulation has a solid and beneficial impact, correlated with the results of student learning in applied mathematics courses. The result of the calculation is the coefficient r xy = 0.721 > 0.005, with a determinant of 51.98%. The greater the degree of self-regulation, the more significant the learning outcomes obtained by students in applied mathematics courses.

Abstract

The implementation of inclusive education at Politeknik Negeri Jakarta (PNJ) through a special class model based on entrepreneurship has not been thoroughly studied. This research aims to: (i) describe the management of inclusive education at PNJ through a special class model, and (ii) analyze strategies to strengthen students' entrepreneurial capacity. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, involving interviews with the Head of the Marketing Management D-3 Study Program for PNJ Special Needs Citizens, observation at PNJ, a literature study, and a documentation study. The data were then analysed qualitatively, including domain analysis, taxonomy analysis, componential analysis, and the drawing of conclusions. The results showed that: (i) the management of inclusive education is carried out through the use of special buildings and classes, with students with special needs grouped based on disability categories - including physical disabilities, sensory disabilities, and intellectual-mental-developmental disabilities, and (ii) strengthening entrepreneurship is carried out through sales practices based on conventional and digital marketing models. This research emphasises the importance of adaptive curriculum development and entrepreneurship integration as part of the strategy to empower students with special needs in higher education.

Abstract

This research aims to develop and apply lyrics of poetry with the theme of Iman, Islam, and Ihsan as a medium for character learning in the university environment. This development model departs from the need for religious media that is touching, easy to remember, and in harmony with Islamic values. The method used is research and development according to Sugiyono (2019) with the stages of needs analysis, design, expert validation, and limited implementation. The results of the study show that the lyrics of the verses developed have a strong spiritual and emotional touch, helping students understand the basic concepts of Islam through aesthetic language. The application of these poems increases religious awareness, worship discipline, and social empathy of students. Thus, Islamic poetry can function as a medium for internalizing the values of faith, Islam, and ihsan in the context of character education in higher education.

Abstract

This study analyzes the translation problems and translation quality of key legal–commercial terms in Abbott’s Purchase Order Terms and Conditions, a bilingual corporate document used in international business. Adopting a qualitative descriptive approach, 60 legally significant terms were examined using Spradley’s componential analysis to identify problem types, Molina and Albir’s (2002) taxonomy to classify translation techniques, and Nababan et al.’s (2012) Translation Quality Assessment model to evaluate accuracy, acceptability, and readability, supported by expert validation. The results showed that major translation problems include system-bound non-equivalence, ambiguity, under-translation, modality errors, and terminology inconsistency, largely caused by conceptual gaps between English common-law terminology and Indonesian civil-law concepts. Calque emerged as the most frequently used technique, often producing unnatural, unclear, or misleading renderings, while established equivalents resulted in more accurate and acceptable translations. Literal and calque frequently weakened legal precision by reproducing surface linguistic forms without conveying the functional legal effects of the source text. Overall, the study concludes that translating legal–commercial terminology requires linguistic competence, comparative legal knowledge, and consistent terminology management. The findings highlight the need for improved translation practices, more rigorous post-editing of machine-assisted output, and closer collaboration between translators and legal experts to ensure clarity, accuracy, and enforceability in bilingual corporate documents.

Abstract

This study presents the design and fabrication of a GRBL-based 3-Axis CNC Milling Machine for laboratory and small-scale industry applications. The system is controlled by an Arduino Uno using GRBL firmware, with NEMA 17 stepper motors and a DC 775 spindle. The Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method was applied to align the design with user requirements. The machine features a 600 × 400 mm working area, 200 Watt power consumption, and spindle speed ranging from 3,000 to 12,000 RPM. Testing results demonstrate high precision and energy efficiency. This machine is suitable for digital manufacturing education and prototyping.
