Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of image media on students' writing skills. The research method used in this research is experimental research. The results of the ANOVA calculation above show that Fcount = 18.78* which is greater than Ftable = 4.08 at a = 0.05 and Fcount at a = 0.01. The obtained value of Fcount = 31.23 which is greater than Ftable = 4.08 at a = 0.05 and Ftable = 7.31 at a = 0.01. This means Ho is rejected. Obtained 9.18 and Ttable = 6.038 for T(0.05) = 6.038 T (0.01) = 2.750 turns To > Ttable . Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. There is an influence of low learning independence on students who have high learning independence between the application of image media and those who do not apply image media, namely by looking at the results of To = 1.16 < T table = 6.038; Ho is rejected.

Abstract

The problem discussed in this study was the ability to write descriptions of the Odd Semester Class of SD Negeri 1 Gulak Galik in Bandar Lampung. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. The research sample of 30 students was taken using a stratified proportional random sampling technique from the existing population. The data collection technique was carried out by means of a performance test, which assigned students a description of the object in the school environment. Data analysis used quantitative analysis using a simple percentage formula. The results showed that the ability to write descriptions of class V Odd Semester SD Negeri 1 Gulak galik Bandar Lampung with a sufficient category with a score of 67. Of the 5 aspects that were assessed there was 1 aspect of content suitability with a score of 87.5 declared very good, 3 aspects were sufficient, namely aspects of spelling writing, written form and sentence effectiveness, and 1 aspect which is stated to be lacking in the aspect of word choice.

Abstract

The problem obtained in this study is about speaking skills which are very influential on the mastery of vocabulary owned by students. Vocabulary as an element of language plays an important role in speaking activities. Students' interest in speaking lessons is still very low. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between vocabulary mastery and speaking skills. The research method used in this study is a quantitative research method through correlational studies. The population of this study were all fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Tiuh Memon, Tanggamus Regency, totaling 31 students. Instruments to collect data are speaking skill test, vocabulary mastery test. The analysis technique used is regression and correlation (simple, multiple). The results of the analysis show that there is a positive relationship between vocabulary mastery and speaking skills (rxy = 0.81 correlation coefficient was tested for significance by t-test obtained t count = 7.44 at the real level = 0.05 with n = 31 obtained t table = 2,045.

Abstract

The problems raised in this study are related to social values ​​in the novel Negeri Senja by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. The research study of social values ​​in the novel Negeri Senja by Seno Gumira Ajidarma includes intrinsic elements and social values ​​in the form of the value of affection, the value of responsibility and the value of harmony in life in the form of democracy and cooperation. The approach used in this research is the sociology of literature approach. This means that something that is displayed in the work that has been studied is the content of the literary work, the goals and the things implied in the literary work itself related to social problems. The results of the study show that the novel Negeri Senja by Seno Gumira Ajidarma contains intrinsic elements and contains many social values. Classification of social values is based on social values including the value of affection, the value of responsibility and the value of harmony in life.

Abstract

This study discusses students' ability to develop exposition paragraphs using a causal development pattern. The ability to develop exposition paragraphs with a pattern of cause-and-effect development is one way to develop ideas into main ideas and then into paragraphs that are complete and full of information that is in accordance with facts. The purpose of this study is to find out and describe the level of students' abilities in developing exposition paragraphs with a causal pattern. The method used to achieve the objectives of this research is to use a quantitative descriptive method. The data collection technique in this study used the performance test technique, namely assigning students to develop paragraphs with a causal pattern to become exposition paragraphs. The sample in this study was class X students in the even semester of SMA Negeri 14 Bandar Lampung, totaling 25 students. The level of ability to develop exposition paragraphs with a causal pattern for students is in the sufficient category with an average score of 61. The level of student ability based on the aspects assessed are: (1) the overall organization of paragraphs with a value of 66 is included in the sufficient category, (2) ) paragraph unity with a value of 65 is included in the sufficient category, (3) paragraph cohesiveness with a value of 47 is included in the less category, (4) paragraph development with a value of 66 is included in the sufficient category, (5) writing and neatness with a value of 65 is included in the sufficient category .

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between (1) practical sentence mastery and summary writing ability, (2) language attitude and summary writing ability, and (3) practical sentence mastery and language attitude together with summary writing skills. The research used is the correlational method. The population of this study was students of class VIII Even Semester SMP Negeri 1 Bumi Agung, Way Kanan Regency, 2017/2018 Academic Year. There are 61 people as research samples in this study. The analytical technique used is statistical regression and correlation techniques. The finding shows that language has a significant relationship with the ability to write a summary with a correlation coefficient of 0.693, and mastery of effective sentences and language attitudes have a significant relationship with the students' writing summary with a correlation coefficient of 0.733.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine and describe the correlation between figurative language mastery and interest in reading short stories with the ability to appreciate short stories in class VIII SMP Al Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung in the 2018/2019 academic year. The population and sample in this study were all students of Class VIII Al Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung. Because the subject was more than 100, then in this study a sample of 25% was taken. So the number of samples is 25% x 256 = 64 students. The research method used was quantitative to determine the magnitude of the correlation between variables. In fact, there were still many inappropriate use of vocabulary and the students' mastery of effective sentences was still lacking. The formulation of the problem in this thesis research was whether there was a correlation between mastery of figurative language and interest in reading short stories with the ability to appreciate short stories in class VIII SMP Al Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung in the 2018/2019 academic year. The results of the analysis and findings in this study could be concluded that: 1) Mastery of figurative language had a significant correlation with the ability to appreciate short stories with a correlation coefficient of 0.630, 2) Mastery of reading short stories had a significant correlation with appreciating short stories with a correlation coefficient of 0.693, and 3) Mastery of figurative language and mastery of interest in reading short stories had a significant correlation together with the ability to appreciate short stories with a correlation coefficient of 0.733.

Abstract

Speaking skills relate to human speech organs that are verbally spoken. Oral language can also determine movements that correspond to the words produced by the speech apparatus. We can combine learning about spoken language by using the dramatization method. This method is a learning activity by staging a story situation from a point of view played by students. By playing roles, students are able to pronounce the words as well as possible so that the message in the story the students act out is conveyed well. This method is considered suitable because it has advantages, including making learning more fun, students interacting with each other in playing existing characters. It also fosters students' critical thinking in determining the message implied in the story. The problem that occurs in the field is that students are less interested in learning because they use methods that are still conventional and that's all. Lack of student concentration in unfocused learning. Students have not been able to solve the problems posed by the teacher as a group. The aim of this research is to improve oral language learning using the dramatization method. Using this learning method in class so that students can understand the roles of characters so that students are able to tolerate them. Learning is more fun by using this dramatization method. The results of this research showed an improvement from cycle I to cycle II. In cycle I there was an increase, namely the average student score in classical was 50.5% with the percentage of classical completion and cycle 2 reaching 83%.
