Abstract

This study aims to describe the transformations of plot and characterization from the novel Laskar Pelangi to the film Laskar Pelangi by using the ecranization method. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research focuses on the transformations of plot and characterizations from the novel Laskar Pelangi (verbal) to the film Laskar Pelangi (audio visual). The data were obtained by reading the novel thoroughly and repeatedly, listening to the film and then identifying and comparing aspects of the plot and characters between the two works so as to find similarities and differences between the works and then record the changes that occurred, especially the plot and characters. Data were analyzed by inductive comparative analysis technique and ecranization process. The validity of the data was obtained through semantic validity and reliability (interrater and intrarater). The results showed that: (1) the transformation of the plot from the novel to the Laskar Pelangi film is that there is a difference in the plot through the addition of film scenes, the reduction of the story in the novel but not shown in the film, and variations in the film compared to the original novel, ( 2) the transformation of characterizations from novels to films caused several changes, such as the omission of Drs. Zulfikar, the appearance of the new characters Pak Mahmud, Pak Zulkarnaen, and Pak Bakri.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of image media on students' writing skills. The research method used in this research is experimental research. The results of the ANOVA calculation above show that Fcount = 18.78* which is greater than Ftable = 4.08 at a = 0.05 and Fcount at a = 0.01. The obtained value of Fcount = 31.23 which is greater than Ftable = 4.08 at a = 0.05 and Ftable = 7.31 at a = 0.01. This means Ho is rejected. Obtained 9.18 and Ttable = 6.038 for T(0.05) = 6.038 T (0.01) = 2.750 turns To > Ttable . Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. There is an influence of low learning independence on students who have high learning independence between the application of image media and those who do not apply image media, namely by looking at the results of To = 1.16 < T table = 6.038; Ho is rejected.

Abstract

The ability to understand the meaning relationship is the ability to understand the relationship of meaning in sentences which include synonyms, antonyms, homonyms, homographs, homophones, hyponyms; hypernIM, and polysemia. This study aims to find out and describe how the level of students' ability to understand the relationship of meaning in sentences in the aspects above. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method, while the technique of collecting data is multiple choice objective test techniques. The population in this study amounted to 218 students and the study sample was set at 54 people. The sampling technique used is the stratified proportional random sampling technique. The results showed that overall, the level of ability to understand meaning relations in the sentence of class XI Even semester of SMK Persada Bandar Lampung was categorized enough with an average score of 68.59. For each aspect, the level of students' ability is as follows: ability of synonymy in good category (77%), ability to understand antonyms in good categories (73.59%), ability to understand homonyms in good categories (73.70), ability to understand homophones in good categories ( 72.18%), the ability to understand homographs is in the less category (50.35), the ability to understand hyponyms is in the good category (77.74%), the ability to understand hypernimms is in a sufficient category (62.33), and the ability to understand polysemi in the less category (59.62%).

Abstract

This study aims to describe Javanese mythology in Pramoedya Ananta Toer's story of Calon Arang. The method that will be used by researchers in this research is descriptive method. From the research results in the novel Cerita Calon Arang by Pramoedya Ananta Toer, there are three mythologies. First, belief in mantras, the second is offering rituals, and the third is ritual worship.

Abstract

The learning method is the method used in learning. This method is used to achieve competence in the material given to students at that time. The use of this learning method has of course been adapted to the needs of students and teachers as well as the suitability of the material. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques are measurement techniques. Measurements were made to measure students' ability to analyze news elements. The results of the study show that the application of the Mind Mapping method to learning to analyze news elements has benefits and constraints in its application. The final results obtained from the application of the Mind Mapping method are said to be good, from the calculation results the average value is 75.8..

Abstract

The purpose of writing this thesis is to determine the effect of contextual learning and learning activities on the ability to write speech texts for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 25 Pesawaran. The method used in this research is experimental with treatment by level design. This experimental method is used to examine whether there is a causal relationship by giving treatment to the experimental group whose results are compared with the results of the control group. The research method designed to determine the magnitude of the effect between the different variables by looking at the magnitude of the difference using the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) technique. In this study, the ability to write speech text was given treatment with a contextual learning approach. The population was the eight grade students at SMP Negeri 25 Pesawaran in 2018/2019 academic year. The total sample is 68 students who are spread out in VIII A as the experimental class and VIII B as the control class. The results showed that the average of the students’ ability in writing speech text through contextual approach who have high learning activity is (A1B1) = 74.90. Meanwhile, the average of the students’ ability in writing speech text through contextual approach who have low learning activity is (A1B2) 71.37. Thus, the average score of the students’ ability in writing speech text through contextual approach is higher than those who wrote speech texts through conventional approach at each level of different learning activities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out and describe the forms of cohesion and coherence deviations in the descriptive text of class VII students of SMPN 6 Bandar Lampung in the 2018/2019 academic year. This research method uses qualitative because cohesion and coherence deviations in the descriptive text of class VII students of SMPN 6 Bandar Lampung in the 2018/2019 school year will be explained using words and sentences clearly, firmly, and transparently in accordance with the research findings. The results of this study indicate that students' descriptive texts are full of cohesion and coherence deviations. In the aspect of cohesion, deviations can be seen from errors in using the cohesion tool in terms of release or ellipsis and the use of conjunctions. Students are not aware that a word or phrase in the text can be released but correctly. Likewise with conjunctions. In coherence, the coherence deviations found included: the use of the wrong keyword repetition, the use of inappropriate and unvarying pronouns, the use of incorrect transition words due to the student's ignorance. In addition to the errors in the coherence tools, students did not seem to focus on the topics or themes discussed so that students' description texts were found that did not meet the parallel meaning element. That is, there are several descriptive texts of students in expressing ideas that do not focus on the problem so that they deviate from the text's keywords.

Abstract

The skill of writing official letters in Indonesian language lessons is very important and closely related to other learning. In this study, the researchers investigate the skills of writing official letters with mastery of writing and learning motivation. Writing ability and learning motivation are independent variables, and official letter writing skills are dependent variables. In addition, this study uses quantitative research methods, where the results are in the form of numbers calculated using statistical calculations. From the study results, it was found that there was a very close relationship between writing mastery and learning motivation on the skills of writing official letters. The closeness of the relationship can be singly or jointly, where the skills of writing official letters for class VII students of MTs N 2 Bandar Lampung for the 2018/2019 academic year are improving.

Abstract

This research was conducted because of reality on the ground that the ability of writing exposition texts and mastery of diction, and the writing interest needed to be developed. This study aims to describe the correlation between mastery of diction and interest in writing with the ability to write exposition texts at the tenth grade of SMK Negeri 1 Kotabumi, Lampung Utara. The research used correlational methods. Techniques used in retrieving research data are tests and questionnaires. Data analysis or hypothesis testing using the formula for the correlation coefficient of the moment and multiple products. From research results, the writers concluded 1) there is a positive and significant correlation between mastery of diction and ability to write exposition text, indicated by the correlation coefficient of 0.772 and the coefficient of determination (r2) of 0.596 or 0.772 and the coefficient of determination (r2) is 0.596 orof 59.69%, 2) there are positive and significant correlation between writing interest and the ability to write an exposition text which is indicated by a correlation coefficient of 0.713 and the coefficient of determination (r2) is 0.508 or 50.80%; 3) there are positive and significant correlation between diction mastery and writing interest with the ability to write exposition text as indicated by the correlation coefficient of 0.810 the coefficient of determination (r2) is 0.656 or 65.60%.

Abstract

The problem raised in this study is the relationship between vocabulary and sentence mastery and the ability to compose descriptions. This research was conducted because of the reality in the field that the ability to compose descriptions and mastery of vocabulary, as well as sentences that need to be developed. This study aims to describe the relationship between vocabulary and sentence mastery and the ability to compose a description of the seventh grade students of SMPN 26 Bandar Lampung. The techniques used in collecting research data are questionnaires, tests, and observations. Research data analysis techniques include requirements analysis test, statistical analysis, and research hypothesis testing techniques. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that, (1) there is a positive and significant relationship between sentence structure and the ability to compose descriptions, indicated by a correlation coefficient of 0.766 and a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.587 or 58.7%, (2) there is a relationship a positive and significant relationship between vocabulary mastery and the ability to compose descriptions indicated by a correlation coefficient of 0.662 and a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.438 or 43.8%, (3) there is a positive and significant relationship between vocabulary mastery and sentence structure and ability composing a description shown by the correlation coefficient of 0.804 and the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.646 or 64.6%.
