Abstract

The madrasa library is a unit that supports learning and teaching activities, for that the library needs to provide various services that can be utilized by students and teachers. Based on the identification of problems with partners, there are several findings, namely; misunderstanding about library automation, lack of trained library staff, lack of support from the leadership, data input. Regarding the problems faced by partners, the team offers solutions to help solve these problems. The solution offered is in the form of technical guidance related to the implementation of library automation for madrasa librarians in Riau Province. The implementation of this service activity is packaged using a technical guidance approach. The activity was delivered using lecture methods, interactive discussions and practice. the results of the activities that have been carried out that all planned targets are achieved properly and in accordance with the program proposal. This activity received a positive response from partners and participants, seen from the enthusiasm of the participants in participating in the technical guidance activities. Furthermore, there was an increase in participants' understanding and skills in using Inlislite and SLiMS library application software. This indicator can be seen from the results of the pretest and posttest evaluations. While the main output of this activity is scientific articles that have been sent to online journals and the additional output is publication in online mass media.

Abstract

The research is entitled Hempasan Gelombang of Taufik Ikram Jamil: A Study of Narrative Structure of Seymore Chatman. The material object of this research is Hempasan Gelombang written by Taufik Ikram Jamil and the formal object is the narrative structure of Seymour Chatman. This research aims to describe narrative structure of Seymore Chatman in Hempasan Gelombang, by identifying units of the story, analyzing the level of core function and connecting function, analyzing level of action and analyzing level of narrative.

Abstract

This writing entitles "Nationalism in Republic Jangkrik Written by Abel Tasman". This writing proves that the power of Raja Rimba is no longer hegemonic. The establishment of Republic Jangkrik is the refusal of Raja Rimba's domination. The establishment of Republic Jangkrik is the agreement of Jangkrik society to live in one state and the denial of the state of raja Rimba, it means the Jangkrik society refuses to be under raja Rimba's control and it shows their solidarity among Jangkrik Society.

Abstract

This writing deals with the motivation of users to reference service in BPAD Riau Province in 2011. It focuses on answering two question: 1) how users are motivated to use reference service, and 2) how far the users need the reference collections. Thus, motivation is the variable of the analysis and the users are the subvariable, while the indicator is viewed intrinsically and extrinsically. This analysis has 124 persons by applying qualitative descriptive analysis.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal how promotion has been done by Soeman HS Library staff in increasing the number of visitor. This is done to see how the campaign was carried out and what constraints were encountered when the promotion was conducted and to find out how and what was being done to overcome these obstacles, what kind of promotion has or has not been done to increase the number of visitors. Additionally, the results of this study determines what kind of promotion should be improved and maintained for future development to increase the number of visitors in the library. The staff who have involved in the promotion of the library. The ultimate goal of this research is to evaluate what promotion has been done and how the next promotion can be applied to increase the number of visitors.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the availabity of reference collections in library of MAN 1 Pekanbaru. This research is quantitative analysis. It uses observation, questionnaire and documentation techniques to collect the data. The result shows that the library MAN1 Pekanbaru has 6 types of reference collections from 10 types of reference collection, base on National Standards of Library. The types of reference collection available are Scripture, Dictionary, Encyclopedia, Atlas, map, and goverment regulation. The important collections which are not yet available among thers: biography, science dictionary, directory and almanac calendar.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of interior design on the interest of visiting library users in Tenas Effendy Library, a topic that is relevant to increasing library visits in public libraries. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the interior design of the library affects the interest of library visitors. This study used descriptive quantitative method, with data collection techniques through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. A total of 97 users were selected as samples through purposive sampling. Data analysis using T test and regression shows that there is a significant influence between interior design and interest in visiting the library, with a significance value of 0.00 <0.05, so that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. The R square value of 0.792 indicates that interior design has an effect of 79.2% on library patron interest, while the remaining 20.8% is influenced by other factors not observed in this study. The findings suggest that interior design has an important role in increasing library visits and has important implications for library space design.
