Abstract

Globalization in higher education demands innovative learning resources that support international collaboration and digital-based instruction. Responding to this need, this study develops Outcome-Based Education (OBE)-based visual media lesson plans to strengthen the internationalization of the Educational Technology Study Program. This study used the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. A research and development approach was employed, involving expert validation and limited field trials with students in an Educational Technology program. The developed materials include OBE-aligned digital modules, instructional videos, worksheets, and project-based assessments integrated into an online learning management system. Validation results indicate a high level of feasibility in terms of content relevance, media quality, and visual design, while student trials suggest that the materials are practical and supportive of independent and collaborative learning. This study contributes a practical model for integrating OBE principles into digitally mediated courses that support international collaboration in higher education. The impact of this study lies in its contribution to improving students' global competencies, encouraging inter-institutional collaboration, and accelerating the internationalization of the Educational Technology Study Program. In addition, this study contributes to improving the quality of education in alignment with SDG 4 on Quality Education and strengthening internationalization efforts through global partnerships consistent with SDG 17 on Partnerships for the Goals.

Abstract

Banyu Biru hot springs is one of the tourist attractions in Gondangwetan Village, Jatikalen District, Nganjuk Regency, which has geothermal manifestations in the form of hot springs, which indicate the existence of a geothermal reservoir below the surface. This study aims to analyze the physics concepts found in Banyu Biru hot spring tourism, as well as the physics that shapes it. This study uses qualitative research in the form of a literature review. The research was conducted by collecting library sources, classifying data, managing data, citing references, abstracting data, interpreting data, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results and discussion, it can be concluded that the Banyu Biru hot springs are a local culture in the Nganjuk Regency area. The formation of the Banyu Biru hot springs was influenced by the location of Nganjuk Regency which is between Mount Wilis and Mount Pandan. Based on the location of Nganjuk Regency, it is possible that it has something to do with the volcanic activity of the volcano. The geothermal phenomenon at the Banyu Biru hot springs was discovered after drilling a well to irrigate the rice fields. The hot water has a temperature of approximately 37°C with a depth of 250-300 meters. Apart from that, the Banyu Biru hot springs in Nganjuk Regency can be studied physically, namely there are concepts regarding geothermal energy, geothermal energy, geothermal systems, conduction and convection. This study can raise public awareness of local cultural identity through the integration of local wisdom into physics education.

Abstract

Cultural heritage is an important part of shaping community identity because it reflects history, values, and unique ways of life. One example is the craft of cowek pottery. However, globalization has caused communities to slowly abandon local cultural values. Therefore, preserving local wisdom is necessary, one of which can be done through integration into school learning. Physics education has great potential to promote local wisdom because many physics concepts are directly related to traditional practices. This study aims to explore the physics concepts found in the process of making cowek pottery in Gedangan Village, Lamongan, and identify their potential as sources of contextual learning. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method with an ethnographic approach, involving two cowek craftsmen selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature study. Data analysis employed the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The study results show that each stage of cowek production involves physical concepts such as plasticity, pressure, friction, centripetal force, work and energy, changes in form, and heat transfer. The cowek making process also presents various physical phenomena that can help students understand concepts more concretely and meaningfully, making it highly potential as a contextual learning resource. These findings confirm that traditional activities are closely linked with the application of physics laws. Thus, local wisdom in cowek making can be utilized as a relevant and actual learning resource to support students’ understanding of physics concepts in everyday life.
