Abstract

Abstract. The research of identification about sea snake in Tuan Island Waters in Peukan Bada, Aceh Besar District has been conducted. This study aims to determine sea snakes species in Tuan Island Waters. The research was begun from April until July 2018. The method used in this study research was Time Swim Method with four station observation.Types of sea snakes were identified based on their morphology, head shape, body and tail, color and band. The result showed that there were types of marine snakes in these waters, they are Acrochordus granulatus and Laticauda sp. The waters parameters of Tuan Island such as temperature, salinity and pH supported the life of the two snake species.Keywords: Acrochordus granulatus, Laticauda, identification, sea snakes, Pulau Tuan. Abstrak. Telah dilakukan penelitian identifikasi ular laut di Perairan Pulau Tuan Kecamatan Peukan Bada Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui spesies ular laut di Perairan Pulau Tuan. Pelaksanaanya berlangsung pada bulan April-Juli 2018. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Metode Time Swim dengan empat stasiun pengamatan. Jenis ular laut diidentifikasi berdasarkan morfologinya, bentuk kepala, badan dan ekor, warna dan corak/bands. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat dua jenis ular laut pada perairan tersebut, yaitu Acrochordus granulatus dan Laticauda sp. Secara keseluruhan parameter perairan Pulau Tuan seperti suhu, salinitas dan pH tergolong sesuai untuk kehidupan dua spesies ular tersebut.Kata Kunci: Acrochordus granulatus, Laticauda, identifikasi, ular laut, Pulau Tuan.

Abstract

Abstract. Research on analysis of sediments chemistry around the mangrove ecosystem of Lambadeuk village, Peukan Bada Subdistrict aimed to the analyze nutrient content of sediments around mangrove ecosystem which grows in Lambadeuk, Aceh Besar. The study was conducted in April 2018 - May 2019. Research stations were determined by using purposive random sampling method then sediment samples were taken by coring technic. The results of the analysis showed that there are two types of sediments; muddy sand and sandy mud type of sediment. Sandy mud sediment has higher organic matter than muddy sand. The percentage value of total organic matters ranged from 27.89% - 42.41%, while C-Organic was between 0.08% - 1.28%. The percentage of dominant C-organic was found in places that are overgrown with mangroves, while the total organic matter content is more in places that does not have mangroves. In addition to the presence of mangroves that affect the amount of organic sediment and type of sediment, oceanographic factors such as currents, topography, organic matter content, and C-Organic are also affect the type of existing sediment.Keywords: Mangroves, Sediment, Organic matter, C-Organic.Abstrak. Penelitian mengenai analisis kimia sedimen di sekitar ekosistem mangrove Desa Lambadeuk, Kecamatan Peukan Bada bertujuan untuk menganalisis kandungan unsur hara sedimen di sekitar ekosistem mangrove yang tumbuh di daerah Lambadeuk, Aceh Besar. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan April – Mei 2019. Metode penentuan stasiun penelitian menggunakan metode purposive random sampling kemudian sampel sedimen diambil dengan menggunakan coring. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tipe sedimen yang ada di Desa Lambadeuk, Kecamatan Peukan Bada terdapat dua tipe sedimen yaitu pasir berlumpur (muddy sand) dan lumpur berpasir (sandy mud). Tipe sedimen lumpur berpasir memiliki kandungan bahan organik lebih tinggi daripada pasir berlumpur. Nilai persentase kandungan bahan organik total berkisar yaitu berkisar antara 27,89 % - 42,41 %, sedangkan C-organik berkisar antara 0,08 % - 1,28 %. Persentase C-organik lebih banyak terdapat di tempat yang banyak ditumbuhi mangrove, sedangkan kandungan bahan organik total lebih banyak di tempat yang tidak ditumbuhi mangrove sama sekali. Disamping keberadaan mangrove yang mempengaruhi besarnya bahan organic sedimen, faktor-faktor oseanografi seperti arus, topografi, kandungan bahan organik, dan C-organik juga mempengauhi tipe sedimen yang ada.Kata Kunci: Mangrove, Sedimen, Bahan Organik, C-organik.

Abstract

The aims of this research was to  knew the prevalence, abundance and types of coral diseases detected in Peukan Bada Aceh Besar Regency. Method used in this research was a 20x2m belt transect with 3 replicates. Results show that the prevalence value was between 27,94% – 58,25%. The value was quite higher if compared with other prevalence on some place in indonesia. Average value of coral disease abundance in this research was 0,23 ind/m2. There was 13 types of coral disease found during sampling, including Fish Bite, Drupella Predation, Acanthaster planci Predation, White Syndrome, Ulcerative White Spot, Focal Bleaching, Non-Focal Bleaching, Invertebrate Galls, Sponge Overgrowth, Cyanobacteria, Pigmentation Response, Sedimentation Damage, Algae Overgrowth. Abstract

The bioactive compound from the Indonesian Marine SpongeCallyspongia sp.isolated based on bioassay-guided separation with several steps of chromatography has been done. There are 4 major compound known as isocopalane diterpene derivatives together with a plausible new compound, isocopalanol, a polyoxygenated isocopalane diterpene. Isocopalanol has molecular weight [M+H]+ 412.576 m/z indicate that the compound has molecular formula C24H44O5 determined by LCMS-ESI. This compound has bioactivity IC50 = 0.1 μg / mL against human pancreatic cancer cell.

Abstract

Mangrove ecosystem is one of the unique ecosystems that has high productivity and it grows along the coast of Aceh Province, Indonesia. The mangrove vegetation in Aceh Tamiang District was decreasing due to human exploitation i.e. stems of mangrove vegetation utilized by local communities become charcoal and firewood. These activities have a negative impact on live and growth of mangrove vegetation. Therefore, the purposes of the study are to analyses the important value index (IVI), mangrove species diversity, and to analyses the correlation between substrate characteristics with mangrove density. The research stations determined using the purposive sampling method and each station has three plots as replication. There were 4 research stations located in Seruway, Bandahara, Banda Mulia, and Manyak Paye sub districts. The study reported 12 species of mangrove in the tree’s category, 9 species of saplings, and 8 species of seedlings. The 12 species of mangroves found were Avicennia lanata, A. marina, A. officinalis, Brugeira parviflora, B. sexangula, Ceriops decandra, C. tegal, Lumnitzera recomosa, Nypa fruticans, Rhizopora apiculata, R. stylosa, and Sonneratia alba. The R. apiculata was species commonly found in each sampling location and it had highest IVI for the tree, sapling and seedling categories with the value of 207.24, 300, and 200, respectively. The average of diversity index was 1.56 categorized in the medium category. The moment Pearson correlation showed there was no significant correlation between the physical-chemical water parameters and substrate with the density of mangrove where Psig0.05.Keywords:Mangrove vegetationImportant value indexDensityDiversityAceh Tamiang
