Abstract

Tobacco is one of Indonesia's unique agricultural commodities. During the slowdown global market for tobacco products, Indonesia still has a relatively important position. This considerable potential is relatively difficult to maintain because both internally and externally, the commodity of tobacco which is the main ingredient of cigarettes, faces very fierce obstacles. This study aims to analyze the competitiveness of tobacco commodities in Indonesia during the period 1970-2016. The competitiveness indicator used is the trade balance index. The method used is quantitative descriptive and regression methods to evaluate the association between competitiveness indicators and their main determinants: production. The results showed that at the beginning of the period of development, tobacco products had good competitiveness. However, entering the 1990s the position of the tobacco trade was reversed. On the other hand, demand for tobacco consumption and the prevalence of smoking in Indonesia are always increasing. As a result, the tendency to weaken competitiveness shown by import penetration will continue. The implication is that the government must stem tobacco imports to achieve two goals at once: improve the tobacco trade balance and hold the smoking prevalence rate that tends to increase.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to find way to reduce poverty rate of farmer by looking for the most suitable farm institutions that could be applied nationally. By doing so, this study analyzes, first, poverty condition of farmer through social-cultural approach in order to find the root causes of the farmer poverty. Secondly, this study will analyze current farm institutions. Finally, this study will synthesize the findings and proceed with alternative policies that are based on collective actions to overcome the poverty problem for the farmer. ZOPP (Zielorientierte Projektplanung-Objective Oriented Project Planning) and collective action model are used as the main method of analyze. This study finds that there are eleven root causes of farmer poverty. Furthermore, this study suggest the existence of: market creation, activating and assisting KUT (Farmer Business Union) as well as Gapoktan (Farmer Club), and providing a pilot field for farming for every village.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi pengembangan desa wisata halal berbasis ekologi, edukasi dan komunitas masyarakat desa. Alasan penting eksistensi pariwisata adalah karena perannya terhadap aktivitas ekonomi yang cukup siginifikan. Sehingga di setiap daerah berusaha untuk mengembangkan sektor pariwisata. Oleh karena itu sangat penting bagi mememahami tentang pentingnya konservasi keanekaragaman hayati dan budaya lokal. Model ini akan dibahas dalam konsep ekowisata yang merupakan suatu model yang mengkombinasikan kepentingan industri pariwisata dan para pemerhati lingkungan. Adapun analisis yang digunakan antara lain: analisis deskriptif, analisis evaluatif, dan analisis kesenjangan kebijakan (performance-importance analiysis). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa strategi prioritas pengembangan desa wisata adalah kesiapan infrastruktur desa, kesiapan pelayanan wisata, kesiapan fasilitas dan kesiapan masyarakat. Sedangkan strategi alternatif yang bisa diterapkan adalah product branding, place branding, event branding dan diurutan terakhir adalah citizen branding. Kata Kunci: desa, ekowisata, konservasi, edukasi

Abstract

Upaya kelangsungan hidup dilaksanakan erat kaitannya dengan perusahaan yang dimiliki oleh usaha kecil menengah karena usaha itu sendiri langsung di kelola oleh pemilik dan fleksibel dalam beradaptasi dengan perubahan lingkungan. kerupuk jabon Kedungrejo di Kabupaten Sidoarjo.Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian deskriptif dengan metode kualitatif. Fokus masalah adalah masalah kelangsungan usaha home industry kerupuk Jabon Kedungrejo di Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam dengan informan. Yaitu pemilik industri rumah tangga kerupuk di desa Kedungrejo jabon kabupaten Sidoarjo. Kepala desa dan masyarakat konsumen kerupuk desa Kedungrejo / desa Kedungrejo. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif teknik analisis data. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa upaya kelangsungan usaha industri rumah tangga kerupuk di Kedungrejo Jabon Kabupaten Sidoarjo meliputi, inovasi produk kerupuk dengan berbagai macam varian, melibatkan generasi muda dalam pemasaran dan perluasan kegiatan produksi dan pemasaran yang didistribusikan dalam dan luar kota, hingga keluar pulau.Kata kunci: usaha, bertahan, industri rumah tangga, industri kerupuk.

Abstract

Madura is the tenth largest creative economy in East Java Province, especially in the batik creative industry. The fesyen (batik) industry is one of the largest sectors contributing to the regional economy of East Java Province. Therefore, the aim of this research is to analyze and identify subsector groups of the batik industry based on indicators from cluster theory so that it is hoped that further development strategies can be formed regarding batik industry clusters in Madura. The results of this research show that the batik industry in Madura is classified into active clusters and dynamic clusters. Strategies that can be developed to increase the classification of industries included in active clusters to become dynamic clusters are: obtained from the results of SWOT calculations, namely 1) Mapping local resource potential; 2) Development of economic/industrial specialization; 3) Adoption and mastery of renewable technological developments in production activities and increasing business collaboration networks; 4) Expanding access to information exchange.
