Abstract

The Madurese tribe has unique, distinctive, and remarkable cultures. It is inseparable from a heterogeneous socio-cultural society. Science, morals, ethics, morals, philosophy of life, social interactions correlate with culture. One of the philosophies in Madurese society that is synergized with livelihoods and kinship values ​​is tanean lanjhang. Tanean lanjhang is a residential space pattern within the Madurese community. The settlement consists of ​​a house yard, kobhung, kitchen, stable, well, and several houses. About 2-10 houses are lined up from west to east and inhabited by people with sibling relationships. As a society that upholds religious values, the concept of tanean lanjhang has a very noble, philosophical meaning and is full of Islamic values either deliberately built or ​​arising from the idea of social interaction in tanean lanjhang. This study aims to describe the philosophical meaning of the tanean lanjhang. This current study used a qualitative- descriptive approach and carried out literature review, observation, and interviews to collect the data. The results showed that tanean lanjhang is a sub-structure of unique community settlement layout and has a noble value from the concept of spatial planning or social interaction, which is manifested in several commendable morals, namely strengthening ukhuwah, caring and respecting people, and cooperation. ABSTRAK Suku Madura memiliki berbagai budaya yang unik, khas, bahkan istimewa. Ilmu pengetahuan, akhlak, etika, moral, falsafah hidup, interaksi sosial sesungguhnya berkorelasi dengan budaya. Salah satu falsafah dalam masyarakat Madura yang bersinergi dengan mata pencaharian dan nilai kekerabatan adalah tanean lanjhang. Tanean lanjhang merupakan konstruksi tata ruang pemukiman yang ada di masyarakat Madura. Pemukiman tersebut terdiri dari sebuah area halaman rumah, kobhung, dapur, kandang, sumur dan rumah rumah yang berjejer dari barat ke timur dengan jumlah 2-10 rumah yang dihuni oleh orang orang dengan hubungan saudara kandung. Sebagai masyarakat yang menjunjung nilai religius, maka konsep dari tanean lanjhang memiliki makna yang sangat luhur, filosofis, dan sarat dengan nilai- nilai keislaman, baik nilai yang sengaja dibangun atau nilai yang timbul dari konsep atau interaksi sosial dalam tanean lanjhang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan makna filosofis yang ada dalam konsep tanean lanjhang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dan teknik Pustaka review, observasi dan wawancara.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanean lanjhangselain sebagai subuah konstruksi tata ruang pemukiman masyarakat yang unik juga memiliki nilai nilai luhur dari konsep tata ruang atau interaksi sosial yang menjadi cerminan konsep kekerabatan masyarakat Madura yang sangat kuat. Sehingga pada akhirnya mampu memperkuat ukhuwah dan memupuk sikap-sikap terpuji seperti sikap peduli, saling menghormati, dan gotong royong.

Abstract

The discussion in line with students’ beliefs about language learning is still popular nowadays since it is believed that the student’s beliefs may influence the language learning process, such as motivation, learning style, and strategies, etc. which later ultimately affected the success of language learning. This study was conducted to investigate how students of the English program at IAIN Madura (State Islamic Institute of Madura), Indonesia, express their beliefs about English language learning. This study was implemented in terms of survey study in which the data was primarily gathered by administering the questionnaire entitled Beliefs About Language learning Inventory (BALLI) of Horwitz’s (1987). The questionnaires were administered to students of English teaching and learning program through Google form. About 144 undergraduate students in the first year have participated in this study.  The finding revealed the students’ beliefs in terms of percentage of agreements in all area of BALLI, namely language aptitude, the strategy of learning and communication, the nature of learning language, motivation and expectation in learning, and the difficulty faced by students

Abstract

This study discusses the phenomenon of religious conservatism and strengthening of religious moderation in the midst of the global pandemic, Covid-19. There are three problems of the research focuses in this study, namely religious moderation, religious conservatism, and the Covid-19 itself. By using a qualitative research and analysis based on social theory, this study has two important findings. Firstly, one of the problems that has often hampered the agenda for dealing with Covid-19 in many countries in the world, including in Indonesia that comes from conservatism in the religious sector. Contrasting the handling of Covid-19 with religious texts so as to make the response to Covid-19 not optimal and ineffective. In addition, the idea of religious moderatism in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic requires three (3) things, they are the rationality, inclusivity, and contextually. Moderate in the rational sense means responding to Covid-19 with common sense and a logical attitude. It does not clash religion and science (medical), but puts them both in a dialogical and integrative manner. Meanwhile, being moderate in the sense of inclusion requires willingness and self-awareness to always take an active role. Comply with all forms of Covid-19 mitigation that have been mutually agreed upon based on consensus government policies. Moderatism in a contextual sense means that understanding Covid-19 requires comprehensive observation and attitude by considering its sociological aspects such as cultural dimensions, social systems and patterns of community interaction.

Abstract

Nowadays, it is crucial to implement the principles of Islamic economics in our society. However, many traders and actors of micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) do not yet have an adequate understanding of the implementation of the sharia principles in the transaction. Located in Erper Barat of Pasanggar Village, Pegantenan Subdistrict, Pamekasan, the understanding of business actors in the community is enhanced through the community engagement program (PKM). In this case, education is carried out simultaneously which results in the enhancement of people's knowledge in terms of sharia principles. Thus, they can apply sharia economic principles in their activities.(Penerapan prinsip ekonomi syariah di masyarakat menjadi hal yang sangat urgen pada saat ini. Namun demikian, banyak pedagang dan pelaku usaha mikro Kecil dan Menengah yang belum memiliki pemahaman yang cukup mengenai prinsip bermuamalah dengan prinsip syariah. Bertempat di Dusun Erper Barat Desa Pasanggar, Kecamatan Pegantenan, Kabupaten Pamekasan, pemahaman para pelaku usaha dan masyarakat ditingkatkan melalui program pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM). Dalam hal ini, edukasi dilakukan secara berkesinambungan sehingga pada akhirnya pengetahuan masyarakat lebih memadai. Abstract

Studi ini berjudul, Strategi Pembangunan Pariwisata Daerah Pamekasan Berkelanjutan melalui Konsep Ekowisata Berbasis Kearifan Lokal. Terdapat tiga isu utama yang akan dibahas dalam kajian ini, yakni konsep ekowisata, pembangunan berkelanjutan, dan konsep kearifan lokal. Ketiga isu tersebut akan dijabarkan melalui dua pertanyaan penelitian, apa yang dimaksud dengan konsep pariwisata berkelanjutan, ekowisata, dan kearifan lokal? Bagaimana membangun pariwisata Pamekasan berkelanjutan melalui konsep ekowisata berbasis kearifan lokal? Studi ini merupakan studi kualitatif dengan pendekatan kepustakaan. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah adalah teori pembangunan kawasan daerah dari Richard Florida. Secara teoritis, studi ini memiliki sumbangsih besar dalam hal memperkaya khazanah keilmuan sosial, khususnya yang bersentuhan dengan isu-isu pembangunan. Sedangkan secara praktik, studi ini memiliki sumbangsih besar dalam menawarkan gagasan solutif, khusunya berkenaan dengan pembangunan pariwisata daerah Pamekasan. Secara umum, temuan besar studi ini memuat penjelasan deskriptif perihal keanekaragaman alam–sosial di Pamekasan, serta analisa mendalam tentang peran dan fungsi  strategis kearifan lokal Pamekasan dalam mewujudkan pembangunan ekowisata daerah yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

People's ideologies in various Western and Eastern countries influence language use, including acknowledgment writing. This qualitative study attempts to establish Eastern and Western ideologies in the acknowledgments of the student's final projects using a critical discourse approach. Eastern ideology was examined through 57 acknowledgments of student theses from eastern countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore) written in Indonesian and English. In comparison, Western ideology was examined through 53 acknowledgments of student theses from western countries (United States of America, England, and Germany) written in English. The linguistic features of Fairclough and Santoso were used to reveal the Eastern and Western ideology found in the acknowledgments of students’ final projects. The findings revealed that the language used to acknowledge eastern ideology was rigid. In Muslim-majority countries, gratitude to God comes first, and there are expressions of gratitude to parents. Gratitude expressions found in some eastern countries were based on the hierarchy of positions. The Western ideology in the acknowledgment, on the other hand, can be seen in the use of more expressive languages. Moreover, the acknowledgment format is not rigid and is arranged according to the hierarchy of works' contributions. The findings also indicate that identity has an impact on language.

Abstract

Realizing an environmentally friendly campus should be the responsibility of all campus residents, including students as the most significant residents. This research looks at the extent to which IAIN Madura students understand eco-literacy to analyze the potential and challenges that the IAIN Madura have in realizing an environmentally friendly campus. The study results showed that the majority (70%) of IAIN Madura students claimed to have known the meaning of eco-literacy. However, only 46.4% were able to define eco-literacy correctly, while 53.6% incorrectly defined eco-literacy. The potential and challenges for realizing an environmentally friendly campus at IAIN Madura can be conducted by 1) utilizing vacant land as green openings. 2) managing water waste to irrigate green opening areas at IAIN Madura. 3) providing more waste disposal facilities that can sort the waste by its type so it is easier to use and processed more efficiently. 4) implementing the BULKY Store system in the IAIN Madura canteen. 5) implementing policies requiring less paper and less plastic for all campus residents and providing more effective and efficient parking lots. The research results become material for consideration in making strategic policies to create an environmentally friendly campus.(Mewujudkan kampus yang ramah lingkungan seharusnya menjadi tanggung jawab seluruh warga kampus, termasuk mahasiswa sebagai warga kampus dengan kuantitas terbesar. Penelitian ini nantinya akan melihat sejauh mana pemahaman mahasiswa IAIN Madura terhadap literasi lingkungan sehingga nanti dapat peneliti Analisa potensi dan tantangan yang dimiliki kampus IAIN Madura dalam meujudkan dirinya sebagai Kampus yang Ramah lingkungan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Sebagian besar (70%) dari mahasiswa IAIN Madura mengaku telah mengetahui apa yang dimaksud dengan ekoliterasi. Namun hanya 46,4% yang mampu mendefinisikan ekoliterasi dengan benar, sedangkan (53,6%) salah mendefinisikan ekoliterasi. Potensi dan tantangan untuk mewujudkan kampus IAIN Madura yang ramah lingkungan adalah 1) memanfaatkan lahan yang kosong sebagai lahan bukaan hijau. 2) mengelola Limbah air agar dapat mengairi daerah bukaan hijau di IAIN Madura. 3) menyediakan lebih banyak fasilitas pembuangan sampah yang dipilah-pilah berdasarkan jenisnya sehingga lebih mudah dimanfaatkan dan diolah dengan lebih efisien. 4) menerapkan system BULKY Store di kantin IAIN Madura. 5) menerapkan kebijakan mewajibkan Less Paper dan Less Plastic bagi seluruh warga kampus, menyediakan lahan parkir yang lebih efektif dan efisien. hasil penelitian ini akan menjadi bahan pertimbangan dalam pengambilan kebijakan strategis untuk mewujudkan kampus ramah lingkungan).

Abstract

Penguatan pemahaman ilmu Tajwid sangatlah penting untuk meningkatkan kualitas bacaan Al-Qur’an. Hal tersebut merupakan salah satu dasar seseorang yang ingin memperindah bacaannya, memperbaiki makhrajnya, dan melafadzkan al-quran sebagaimana hak-hak hurufnya. Dalam hal ini, proses belajar Al-Quran di Musholla Ustaz Samhadi di Desa Larangan Dalam dilakukan dengan sistem tradisional/ sorokan. Namun demikian, penguasaan ilmu tajwid masih belum maksimal. Hal inilah yang mendasari tim fasilitator Kuliah Pengabdian Masyarakat (KPM) Fakultas Tarbiyah IAIN Madura posko 31 untuk melakukan pendampingan. Pendampingan ini merupakan salah satu bentuk Community Service Program dimana fasilitator melakukan pelayanan dan pendampingan terhadap suatu komunitas, yaitu santri Ustaz Samhadi di Desa Larangan Dalam Kecamatan Larangan Pamekasan dalam rangka meningkatkan penguasaan ilmu tajwid santri agar kualitas bacaan Al-Qur’an semakin baik. Setelah dilaksanakan proses dampingan, terdapat peningkatan penguasaan ilmu tajwid objek dampingan. Hal ini tentunya akan berdampak pada kualitas mereka dalam membaca Al-Qur’an.

Abstract

Religious moderation is an essential concept that should be taught and practiced by the students in Islamic senior high schools (Madrasah Aliyah), particularly in the context of an increasingly diverse society. Religious moderation emphasizes on balance, moderation, tolerance and respect for differences, both in terms of beliefs and religious practices. This community service program aimed to enhance students’ English short story writing skills which is integrated with religious moderation values. The mentorship program was conducted at MAN 2 Pamekasan and enrolled 25 students as participants. The program was carried out by applying Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) as a community service approach which consists of discovery, dream, define, design, and destiny. The activities were internalizing the religious moderation values to the students and practicing to write English short stories guided by facilitators. The result of the present community service shows that the students are gaining a better understanding of religious moderation, demonstrating improved writing skills, and being able to reflect the values of religious moderation in their short stories. The result suggested that combining creative writing with religious moderation value-based education can foster both linguistics competence and character development. Therefore, it contributes to a more harmonious school environment.[Moderasi beragama merupakan konsep penting yang harus diajarkan dan dipraktikkan oleh siswa di Madrasah Aliyah, terutama dalam konteks masyarakat yang semakin beragam. Moderasi beragama menekankan keseimbangan, toleransi, dan penghormatan terhadap perbedaan, baik dalam hal keyakinan maupun praktik keagamaan. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis cerpen berbahasa Inggris siswa yang terintegrasi dengan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama. Program pendampingan ini dilaksanakan di MAN 2 Pamekasan dengan melibatkan 25 siswa sebagai peserta. Program ini menggunakan pendekatan Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) dalam pengabdian masyarakat yang terdiri dari tahap discovery, dream, define, design, dan destiny. Kegiatan yang dilakukan yaitu internalisasi nilai-nilai moderasi beragama kepada siswa serta pelatihan menulis cerpen berbahasa Inggris yang dibimbing oleh para fasilitator sekaligus pengabdi. Hasil dari pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa para siswa memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang moderasi beragama, menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan menulis, dan mampu merefleksikan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama dalam cerpen mereka. Hasil pengabdian Masyarakat ini merekomendasikan bahwa menggabungkan penulisan kreatif dengan pendidikan berbasis nilai moderasi beragama dapat meningkatkan kompetensi linguistik sekaligus pengembangan karakter. Dengan demikian, hal ini berkontribusi pada terciptanya lingkungan sekolah yang lebih harmonis.]

Abstract

This research aims to discuss the extent to which politeness strategies are applied by teachers and students in classroom interactions and to analyze the types of politeness maxims based on the theory proposed by Geoffrey Leech. The method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The research subjects involved are 1st-grade elementary school students, educators, educational staff, and parents of students at SDI Al Uswah Pamekasan. The findings of this research consist of the distribution of maxims analyzed based on Leech's politeness principles theory, with the percentage of usage of politeness principles and the 6 maxims of the politeness principle of tact ranking highest in their usage in conversations between teachers and students during the course of learning. The six maxims proposed by Leech include the maxim of tact, the maxim of generosity, the maxim of praise, the maxim of modesty, the maxim of agreement, and the maxim of sympathy. The conclusion of this research is that each maxim proposed by Leech can be found in the interaction process between teachers and students, with language delivery based on the principle of politeness.
