Abstract

The development of economic and human activities have brought some detrimental effects on environment. This phenomenon then raises the people awareness to take action on preserving environment by buying and consuming green products that have less negative impact on environment. Through the perspective of consumer socialization approach, this current study has explored whether peer communication, green advertising, and eWOM in social media have an influence on consumer’s green purchase intention as well as examined the moderation effect of consumer’s need for uniqueness. By using an online survey with purposive sampling method, 267 responses have been collected and analysed by SEM PLS approach through SmartPLS software. This study founds that while 1) peer communication has a non-significant correlation to green purchase intention, 2) green advertisement and 3) eWOM in social media significantly and positively influence the consumer’s green purchase intention. However, it is also found that need for uniqueness does not have a moderation effect on 4) peer communication, 5) green advertisement, and 6) eWOM in social media. Some managerial implications and recommendations for future research are also elaborated in this research.

Abstract

Hospital website accessibility is still a problem that is often faced by users with disabilities, especially the blind who have special needs related to vision (visual). The main obstacle for users with visual disabilities is the complex information architecture so that the use of the features available on the hospital's website has not been fully enjoyed. Likewise, the information presented by the hospital website interface cannot be conveyed to users with visual disabilities. This is because there are still many interface designs (UI/UX) for hospital websites that are not based on the needs of users with disabilities. This study aims to see the effect of implementing Garret's Element on hospital websites for users with visual disabilities by applying Garret's UX Element method to design hospital website interfaces through 5 stages, namely Strategy Plane, Scope Plane, Structure Plane, Skeleton Plane and Surface Plane. Measurements were taken by observation and the results obtained were that users stated that designing the UIUX of a hospital website by applying Garret's UX Elements required less time to obtain information than websites that did not apply this method.

Abstract

Oil and gas businesses rely heavily on information technology solutions to support the country’s economic sustainability. However, vulnerabilities in the organization's IT systems pose significant risks, as they may be exploited by hackers or cybercriminals, potentially disrupting operations and compromising sensitive data. To address this, a strategic plan is necessary to enhance cybersecurity and ensure the reliability of IT systems. This research adopts the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, a structured approach developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), to design a strategic cybersecurity plan. Data were collected through interviews, field observations, and exploring public web-based applications identified as IT assets. Based on these results, the research provides targeted control recommendations using the NIST Cybersecurity Framework to strengthen the protection of applications essential for customer interactions and overall business operations.

Abstract

Class imbalance is a significant challenge in machine learning, where unequal distribution between majority and minority classes often biases model predictions toward the majority class. This study investigates the implementation of two data balancing techniques, SMOTE-ENN (Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique and Edited Nearest Neighbor) and Borderline-SMOTE, to enhance the performance of the LightGBM model on the Online Shopper’s Purchase Intention dataset. The dataset exhibits an imbalanced distribution between the purchase (True) and non-purchase (False) classes, hindering the model’s ability to detect minority classes accurately. The SMOTE-ENN method combines oversampling, which creates synthetic samples for the minority class, with noise removal by eliminating misclassified samples from the majority class. On the other hand, Borderline-SMOTE generates synthetic samples near the decision boundary of the minority class, focusing on critical regions prone to misclassification. The study evaluates the LightGBM model’s performance before and after applying these techniques using evaluation metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. Results demonstrate that both methods significantly improve the model’s ability to detect the minority class, with Borderline-SMOTE showing a slight advantage by generating a more representative data distribution around the decision boundary. The results indicate that both methods significantly improve the model’s ability to detect the minority class, with SMOTE-ENN achieving an accuracy of 93% and demonstrating superiority in producing a more representative data distribution compared to Borderline-SMOTE, which achieved 92% accuracy. This study confirms the effectiveness of SMOTE-ENN and Borderline-SMOTE in addressing class imbalance in machine learning applications

Abstract

The rapid evolution of new media and information technology has fundamentally restructured public communication patterns, necessitating a paradigm shift in the communication strategies of educational institutions. While digital marketing communication is widely documented in the commercial and formal schooling spheres, its application through an interdisciplinary communication lens in non-formal educational institutions remains very limited. This study evaluates the implementation of a digital marketing communication strategy that integrates media communication and social interaction studies for the Mawar Community Learning Center (PKBM) in Bone Regency. Using a descriptive cross-sectional design incorporating a retrospective pre-test component, data were drawn from 101 respondents. The STP (Segmentation, Targeting, Positioning) framework was applied to map the message architecture and media preferences of the audience, revealing that the primary audience is females (22–35 years old) who are highly receptive to visual message transmission in the form of short videos on Instagram and TikTok. Furthermore, the 4Cs (Context, Communication, Collaboration, Connection) framework was used to assess the effectiveness of the communication dialogue and post-campaign public perception. The results of the study indicate a substantial shift in information penetration, moving from 54.5% retrospective awareness to 98% current awareness. Furthermore, this new media communication strategy effectively expanded the geographical transmission of messages, reaching 47.5% of the audience outside the host sub-district. The 4C analysis yielded a highly favorable message reception rate, particularly in fostering emotional connections and supportive community communication (the Total Category Response score for the Connection dimension reached 91.29%). Despite methodological limitations, these findings enrich the interdisciplinary communication science discourse by demonstrating that dialogic and contextualized digital media communication management can significantly bridge information asymmetries, dismantle institutional stigma, and reconstruct public trust in alternative educational institutions.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has created a new ecosystem that requires young people, particularly Generation Z, to become not only passive digital consumers but also creators of innovative solutions through the startup ecosystem. An empathy-based Design Thinking approach is considered effective in producing human-centered solutions while shaping resilient, solution-oriented young entrepreneurial character. However, students at SMA SPIDI Maros still faced difficulties in understanding business idea validation and UI/UX prototype design. This community service program aimed to provide Design Thinking and UI/UX Prototyping training to support students' startup idea development while enhancing their digital literacy. The method employed a two-session training and workshop, consisting of a Design Thinking presentation and a UI/UX Prototyping workshop using Figma, implemented through four stages: identifying participant needs, designing materials, conducting the activity, and evaluation with follow-up. The program was held on 28 January 2026 and attended by 32 participants from grades 10 to 12. Evaluation results showed all indicators fell into the "Very Good" category, with the overall usefulness indicator scoring highest at 4.84/5 (97% agreement), while ease of using Figma scored lowest at 4.41/5 due to limited workshop time. These findings underscore the importance of continuous, multi-session mentoring programs for high school students in the future.
