Abstract

Research on the development of learning media urgently needs to be done for junior high school students. The existence of learning media is expected to increase students' understanding and mastery of certain materials. This research aims to: (1) produce a product in the form of learning media Noun Words Domino Card (NWDC) that is feasible for seventh graders of eight State Junior High School Satap Woja, (2) know the practicality of NWDC learning media for students, (3) know the effectiveness of NWDC learning media in increasing student vocabulary mastery. This research is Research and Development (R&D) by using the ADDIE model consisting of five steps: analyze design, develop, implement, and evaluate. The results showed: (1) the learning media noun words domino card (NWDC) is feasible for using and testing to students. The feasibility is based on the assessment by material experts with a feasibility value of 3.7 and media experts 3.5, (2) the learning media of noun words domino card (NWDC) is practically used in improving the vocabulary mastery of students. The practicality is based on the student's response as a user of learning media with a total average score of 3.6, (3) learning media noun words domino card (NWDC) is effective in increasing the mastery of student vocabulary. It was obtained from the average oral test score of students who passed the minimum completion criteria of English subjects.

Abstract

Pendidikan agama Islam, khususnya mata pelajaran Akidah Akhlak di Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs), memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk karakter siswa. Pembelajaran yang efektif sangat bergantung pada kualitas bahan ajar. Observasi awal di MTs Negeri 1 Woja menunjukkan 62% siswa kesulitan memahami materi Akidah Akhlak karena penggunaan bahan ajar yang monoton dan tidak kontekstual. Hasil evaluasi juga menunjukkan bahwa hanya 38% siswa yang mencapai nilai di atas KKM. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas bahan ajar dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek siswa kelas VII MTs Negeri 1 Woja. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis tematik digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengelompokkan tema penting dari data yang diperoleh. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa penggunaan bahan ajar yang lebih variatif, seperti infografis dan video pendek, meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi Akidah Akhlak. Siswa menunjukkan peningkatan dalam interaksi dan penerapan nilai moral dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Oleh karena itu, bahan ajar yang lebih kontekstual dan visual efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa di MTs Negeri 1 Woja.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using Canva media on students’ learning motivation in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) at SMP Negeri 2 Dompu. The low level of students’ enthusiasm in IRE learning, which is still dominated by conventional methods, encourages the use of more innovative digital visual media. This study employed a quantitative ex post facto approach. The population consisted of 143 eighth-grade students, with 23 students selected as the sample through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using simple linear regression with SPSS version 25. The results showed that the use of Canva media had a significant effect on students’ learning motivation in IRE (t = 6.372; p < 0.05), with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.621. These findings indicate that Canva media is effective in increasing students’ interest, attention, and engagement in IRE learning. Therefore, the use of Canva is recommended as a creative and contextual learning medium in line with the Merdeka Curriculum.
