Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to identify the progress of macro indicators of regional development as well as strategic development issues in Nduga Regency. The background of this research is based on the importance of measuring regional development in a multidimensional manner to understand inequality and to guide more accurate policy directions. The results show that macro indicators such as GRDP per capita, the Human Development Index (HDI), and the electrification ratio have shown an increasing trend. However, major challenges remain in terms of equitable access to education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation. In addition, strategic issues identified include demographic bonus, labor market disparities, limited infrastructure, technological disruption, and regional economic transformation. These findings highlight the need for data-driven, cross-sectoral, and inclusive development strategies to promote sustainable growth and improve the well-being of communities in Nduga Regency.

Abstract

Papua’s economy illustrates the challenge of the Mundell-Fleming trilemma, where rapid growth led by extractive industries has not generated broad-based employment or stable prices. This study examines how the trilemma manifests at the Papua Province. Using monthly time-series data, econometric analysis was conducted through stationarity, classical assumptions, and regression tests. The results show an imperfect trilemma pattern. In the inflation model, economic growth significantly increases inflation, though with a small effect (0.0323), consistent with demand-pull theory. In the unemployment model, growth reduces unemployment as expected by Okun’s Law, but the impact is minimal (−0.0056), indicating that growth remains weakly labor-intensive. More unexpectedly, inflation is found to increase unemployment (0.0229), contradicting the Phillips Curve, which predicts the opposite relationship. These findings suggest that Papua does not experience the classic trilemma trade-offs in a consistent manner. Policy implications include cautious monetary measures that consider threshold effects of growth, inflation, and unemployment, alongside fiscal strategies focused on productivity, infrastructure development, and strengthening labor-intensive sectors to achieve more inclusive growth.

Abstract

The escalating climate crisis has become one of the greatest challenges of this century, having far-reaching negative impacts on the environment, human health, food security, and the global economy. The response to this crisis requires a deep understanding of the dynamics of climate change, as well as comprehensive and collaborative policies and actions at the global level. Therefore, it is important to evaluate and identify effective strategies to mitigate the impacts of climate change and move towards a sustainable future. This research aims to explore comprehensive policy responses and collaborative global action to navigate the climate crisis toward a sustainable future. The research method used is qualitative, by collecting and analyzing data from relevant research results and previous studies. The results of this research found that efforts to overcome the climate crisis require a comprehensive approach, involving strong international cooperation and synergy between development policies. Transitioning to clean energy, sustainable management of natural resources, and increasing community resilience to the impacts of climate change were identified as key strategies. Education and increasing public awareness are also important elements in supporting behavior change and community participation. Technology and innovation play a vital role in creating efficient and sustainable solutions. Finally, adequate funding and innovative funding mechanisms are needed to support the effective implementation of climate policies and initiatives.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the sectoral classification in Jayapura City and determine the economic sectors that can become the mainstay sectors in the Jayapura City economy during the period 2011-2023. The analysis is conducted based on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) data based on sector contributions to growth, the Growth Ratio Model, and overlay analysis. Data are obtained from official sources, such as publications of the Central Statistics Agency and regional economic reports. Based on the Growth Ratio Model (MRP), sectors in Jayapura City can be classified into several categories. Sectors that fall into classification I, or "dominant growth," include electricity and gas procurement, construction, wholesale and retail trade, information and communication, financial services and insurance, real estate, and government administration. Meanwhile, sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing industry, and corporate services are in classification II, showing prominent growth at the provincial level but less developed at the district level. The mining and quarrying sector falls into classification IV, with low growth at both the provincial and district levels. Furthermore, based on the overlay analysis, it was found that the mainstay sectors in the Jayapura City economy are construction and wholesale and retail trade, which show significant contributions to regional economic growth. Other potential sectors include government administration, information and communication, and financial services and healthcare, which have shown stable growth and significant contributions. With policies supporting these sectors, such as infrastructure improvements, service modernization, and strengthening the logistics system, these sectors can serve as key pillars of sustainable economic growth in Jayapura City.

Abstract

This study examines legal fragmentation in Indonesia’s Green Sukuk governance, particularly the separation between environmental verification, Sharia compliance, and community impact reporting. Using a normative juridical approach combined with content analysis of legislation, DSN-MUI fatwas, and official documents issued by the Ministry of Finance and the Financial Services Authority (OJK), this study analyzes the extent to which Indonesia’s Green Sukuk framework integrates environmental regulation and Islamic financial law. A comparative legal review of Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates is also conducted to assess alternative models of ESG-Sharia governance. The findings show that Indonesia’s Green Sukuk has a strong legal foundation through Law No. 19/2008 on State Sharia Securities, OJK Regulation No. 60/2017, and DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 117/2018. However, the existing framework still lacks an integrated mechanism for aligning green project verification, Sharia audit, and community development assessment. The analysis identifies institutional coordination gaps, normative separation between environmental and Sharia standards, and limited social impact indicators in Green Sukuk reporting. This study contributes to Islamic financial law by conceptualizing an integrated Sharia-environmental governance framework that links regulatory authority, maqasid al-shariah-based assessment, and community-oriented impact evaluation.
