Abstract

The objectives of this research is to find out and see the competition map among retailbusinesses, such as the modern market such as Alfamart franchise minimarket and other retailstores, with traditional markets. It is done because of the rapid development of modern shopsstart from the city center to suburban and even rural areas. The existence of modern stores thatprovide convenience to the public in the shopping needs and comfort while shopping encourageintense competition among modern franchise stores for market share of traditional markets. Towin the competition companies must make the consumers as loyal customers and loyal buyers.The method used in this research is assessing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities andthreats (SWOT) analysis. Based on the results of SWOT analysis the company is expected to beable to define the strategy (corporate, business, function) to win the competition. The samples ofthis research were selected randomly. 50 Alfamart employees were selected as the internalsamples (the samples from within the company). 100 Alfamarts consumers / customers who haveshopped at lest once (1 times) have been selected as the external samples (samples from outsidethe company). The data data collecting method were questionnaires, interviews, andobservations. The data were analyzed with matrix method IFAS and EFAS. To determine theposition of the company, the coordinates of the customer side is the x-axis and y-axis = 0.14 =0.33 are in quadrant 1 (one) as well as from the employees of the coordinate axes x = 0 , 50 andthe axis y = 0.26 which is also located in quadrant 1 (one). It means that the company is in astrong position and also has strong opportunity. The strategy adopted is an aggressive strategyor growth strategies.

Abstract

This research is conducted at PT Indmira Yogyakarta a private company engaged in agrocomplex since 1985 and established by Ir. Sumarno. To continue to maintain and improve the quality of existing products, the company consider the importance of effort to develop the performance of its employees. For the purpose of this study, aspects that can affect employee performance are analyzed those affects are work competence, motivation and organizational support. The methods of data collection used in this study are interviews, literature studies and questionnaires. Questionnaires in this study use Likert measurement scale by giving a score of 1-5 on the answers, and sampling uses Probability Sampling technique for 65 samples. The method of analysis uses are validity test, reliability test, multiple linear regression, classic assumption, coefficient determination, F test and t test. Result of this research obtains value of adjusted R square equal to 0,395. This means that work competence, motivation, and organizational support influence 39,5% employee performance. The equation resulted from multiple linear regression is  Y = 6,256 + 0,389X1 + 0,059X2 + 0,324X3. The meaning of the equation are work competence variable (X1) has a positive and significant effect on employee performance (Y) with coefficient value of 0.389. Variable of motivation (X2) have positive but not significant effect on employee performance (Y) with coefficient value equal to 0,059. Variable organizational support (X3) has positive and significant effect to employee performance (Y) with coefficient value equal to 0,324. So Of the three variables, work competence variable (X1) has the greatest effect on employee performance (Y) of 0.389. It is recommended that if the company wants to improve employee performance significantly, it can be by considering the competence of work owned by its employees. because From the results of multiple linear analysis, work competence has the greatest influence compared to motivation and organizational support.

Abstract

The research aims to analyze the influence ofQuality of Work Life on Quality of Life case study on operator employee of Container Crane and Rubber Tyre Gantry PT Pelindo III (Persero) Terminal Petikemas Semarang. The independent variables of this research are Occupational Health and Safety, Compensation and Work Environment while The dependent variable is Quality of Life. The methods of data collection are questionnaire completion, direct observation and literature review. The sample of this research are 70 respondents and instrument tests used are the validity test and reliability test. The technique of analysis used in this research were multiple linear regression analysis and classic assumption test. The result of multiple linier regression analysis could be shown by the regression equation Y=27,213+0,605X1+0,463X2+0,824X3. Coefficient determination in this research was0.592, which meant that 59.2% of heavy equipment operator’s Quality Life could be influenced by Occupational Health and Safety, Compensation and Work Environment, whereas the remaining of 40.8% is influenced by others variables which are not observed in this research. The result of this research shows that Quality of Work Life had positive and significant influence at the same time on Quality of Life and the most influencing variable on Quality of Life is Work Environment

Abstract

Employee’s loyalty is one of problems faced by Hazotel Semarang.  This problem is related to transformational leadership style and organizational commitment.  This research aims to determine the influence of transformational leadership style and organizational commitment on employee’s loyalty at Hazotel Semarang. The independent variables in this research are transformational leadership style (X1) and organizational commitment (X2), where employee’s loyalty (Y) as dependent variable. The type of this research is quantitative research metohod.  To determine the number of the samples, Saturation sampling is used in this research whereas 24 person as the number of all population member are included  in this research.  The source data obtained by the primary data for distributing the questionnaire and secondary data by observation, interview, and literature study. The data collected using questionnaire is based on specified indicators. The result of the partial analysis showed that transformational leadership style has positive influence and significant on employee’s loyalty (t count > t table, 2,553 > 2,074). While organizational commitment has positive influence but not significant on employee’s loyalty, t count < t table, (1,111 < 2,074). The result of the simultan analysis showed that transformational leadership style and organizational commitment has positive influence and significant on employee’s loyalty, F count > F table (7,414 > 3,47).

Abstract

PT Eastwind Mandiri Cangkiran is a manufacturing company that produces and exports furniture from forest products. This study aims to empirically examine the effect of situational leadership, knowledge sharing, and job stress on employee performance at PT Eastwind Mandiri Cangkiran. Data was collected by interview, observation, literature study, and distributing questionnaires. The sampling method used the census model, namely the entire population of 60 respondent data. The data analysis technique was carried out by multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the analysis show that situational leadership, knowledge sharing, and job stress have a significant positive effect on employee performance. Knowledge sharing variable has a dominant impact in improving employee performance. Keywords: situational leadership, knowledge sharing; job stress; employee performance
