Abstract

The concept of science has the potential to be explored in instilling spiritual values. Competence of a good science teacher is needed to integrate science learning and inculcate spiritual values. This PPM activity aims to provide knowledge and improve the competence of science teachers in presenting science learning activities that focus on cognitive abilities as well as spiritual attitudes. Community service activities (PPM) will be carried out in the form of workshop training involving students and science teachers in Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province. Based on the results of the questionnaire, it is known that teachers and students agree on the need for the integration of spiritual values through science learning. The results of the teacher's worksheet show the teacher is able to relate the concept of science to spiritual values of the greatness of God. The teacher can describe the plan for presenting these values in learning activities. Students are very enthusiastic about learning science with spiritual values and students are able to give examples of various phenomena related to the concept of physics and the spiritual values in it. Based on the results of the response questionnaire and working papers, it can be concluded that students and teachers are highly motivated by learning science with spiritual values. After participating in the workshop, the teacher can integrate spiritual values into basic competencies in science learning. Students are able to mention spiritual values in various phenomena related to scientific concepts.

Abstract

The global energy crisis drives the search for environmentally friendly renewable energy sources, one of which is bioethanol. This research aims to determine the effect of NPK and urea on bioethanol production. The method used research is experimental method, The production process includes the hydrolysis stage using 5% HCl, fermentation for 7 days with Saccharomyces cerevisiae, purificationthrough distillation, measure alcohol content using an alcohol meter. Variations of materials such as pineapple peels, pineapple leaves, and a combination of both, as well as the influence of nutrient addition during the fermentation process, by adding nutrients in the form of NPK, Urea, and a combination of both. The research results show that pineapple peels treated with urea produced the highest alcohol content at 17%. Pineapple leaves showed the highest yield at 5%. in the treatment, the combination of pineapple skin and leaves showed the highest content of 8% in the single NPK treatment. The use of pineapple peels is more effective than pineapple leaves. application of nutrients, especially NPK, has been proven to enhance fermentation efficiency, particularly on more complex substrates. This research shows that NPK and urea have an influence on the production of bioethanol from pineapple peels and leaves.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ environmental literacy by developing MEDIPIA, an interactive science learning media based on Virtual Reality (VR). The focus of the research is on water pollution at Teluk Sepang Beach, a coastal area affected by thermal waste discharge from the Teluk Sepang Power Plant. The study follows the 4D development model, which consists of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages, integrating both media development and environmental analysis. A field trial involving 30 seventh-grade students from SMPN 52 Bengkulu Utara was conducted using a one-group pretest-posttest design to assess changes in students’ environmental literacy. At the same time, seawater quality was analyzed at seven observation points using five parameters: temperature, pH, salinity, dissolved oxygen, and turbidity, based on standards from the Ministry of Environment Decree No. 51 of 2004. The findings indicate ecological disturbance near the wastewater discharge outlet, characterized by temperatures above 30°C, decreased pH at two points, salinity levels below 33‰, turbidity exceeding 5 NTU at four points, and dissolved oxygen above 5 mg/L. Expert validation rated MEDIPIA as highly suitable for educational use, with an average score of 91.79%. Statistically, student environmental literacy increased significantly after using MEDIPIA, with an N-gain score of 0.7 and a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). These results suggest that VR-based interactive media can bridge scientific environmental data and student learning, contributing to the development of context-based science education that addresses local environmental issues

Abstract

Bengkulu Province is one of the areas in Indonesia that often experiences landslides, especially during the rainy season. Therefore it is necessary to have landslide disaster mitigation education for students. The purpose of this study was to design integrated natural science learning for landslide relief. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection through teacher interviews, syllabus analysis, and literature study. Then the data obtained were analyzed to obtain a learning design. The results of this study are science learning designs that are integrated with landslide disaster mitigation. The concept of IPA that can be inserted is motion, namely Newton's law, where landslides occur due to movement in the ground. The learning process can be carried out using the STEM approach with the PJBL (Project Based Learning) model. So that this learning design will be contextual because it relates to everyday life. This learning design will later make working in groups in designing simple student technology as a response to landslide disasters. It is hoped that after learning students will more easily understand the concept of science because it is integrated with landslide disasters which are close to their lives and can apply it in everyday life.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to design natural science learning integrated with flood disaster mitigation to equip students with an attitude of disaster preparedness. Research is a type of descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques through interviews and library research (library research). The results of this study, namely the natural science learning design material Global Warming which is integrated through flood disaster mitigation. The learning design uses the Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Society (STEMS) approach and the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model. Through the STEMS approach, students are trained to think critically, creatively, and be able to solve problems by applying science, mathematics and technology. Furthermore, with the PjBL learning model students are directed to design and design flood-free houses as a flood preparedness effort. The use of the STEMS approach and the PjBL learning model can improve students' cognitive, affective and psychomorphic abilities, to equip students with an attitude of early preparedness for disasters.
