Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the TPACK (Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge) approach in contraceptive counseling training through role play for fourth-semester DIII Midwifery students in the Family Planning (KB) Services course. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study research design. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with 15 students as research participants. The research results show that students understand the TPACK concept well and see it as a practical approach to learning contraceptive counseling. Integrating technology, pedagogy, and content in learning is considered to help students understand the material better. Role play has proven effective in honing students' contraceptive counseling skills and increasing their confidence in facing real counseling situations. This research also identified several challenges, such as limited access to technology. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase technological support and sustainable development in implementing TPACK in health education. Overall, the TPACK approach has great potential in improving the quality of contraceptive counseling learning and preparing midwifery students to become competent counselors.

Abstract

In the last ten years, there has been a spike in cases of malnutrition in several countries, thus making significantly reducing the incidence of stunting in children a global program. The main focus of attention on stunting is on the aspect of fulfilling nutrition, but educating parents about how to identify growth and development is an important first step in stunting prevention. This activity was carried out in Kepek, Timbulharjo Village, Sewon District, Bantul Regency, on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at 10.00–12.00 WIB. 35 mothers with toddlers participated in the activity. The method of implementing this service is carried out in two stages, each with a duration of 100 minutes, namely the measurement of height and weight and lectures and discussions about the identification of stunting in toddlers. The PKM team consists of lecturers, education staff, and students. The evaluation instrument was in the form of a closed-question questionnaire with a total of 10 items. The results of the first stage activity found 30 toddlers (85.71%) in the normal growth category and five toddlers (14.29%) in the below-standard category. increased knowledge about stunting identification by 62.20 points (from a mean score of 33 to 95.80). This activity is very helpful for mothers of toddlers to understand how to identify stunting and the risks experienced if the stages of child development are not in accordance with normal standards.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is the right of children and mothers. Unfortunately, the realization is not easy, especially for primipara. Several factors greatly influence its success, including the husband's support. This study aims to determine the correlation between husbands' support and mothers' willingness to provide exclusive breastfeeding. This research is an analytic descriptive with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study was breastfeeding mothers at Yuni Astuti's Independent Midwife Practice, located in Sewon, Bantul, Yogyakarta, primiparous mothers with babies aged 0-6 months. Data was collected using a questionnaire consisting of 21 questions. Respondents' answers are indicated by statements of agreement on four scales (strongly agree, agree, disagree, strongly disagree). Univariate data were analyzed using percentages, and bivariate data using the Chi-Square test. The research results find that the husband's support is related to the mother's willingness to provide exclusive breastfeeding. Mothers willing to give exclusive breastfeeding receive good support from their husbands. Although her husband's support strongly influences a mother's willingness to provide exclusive breastfeeding, several other variables still need to be considered. It is suggested that future researchers conduct a detailed study of the success factors of exclusive breastfeeding so that the public can take the results as a recommendation for mothers to do the same.
