Abstract

Several problems of Vocabulary are found in the first science class in SMAN 2 Pamekasan. The students` felt bored to study and difficult to memorize vocabulary are general problem. To solve the problems an action research was conducted by the researcher and the teacher by using clipping as news reader to develop students` vocabulary. Therefore, the problem of this research is about how the clipping implementation as news reader can develop students’ vocabulary. And the aim was to develop students’ vocabulary in English. Based on the result of test in In the preliminary study there was 21% only who passed, in cycle 1 students get achievement 42% (10 students) who passed the minimum score (KKM, 75), it was increased to the second cycle 92 % (22 Students) who passed the target score (KKM, 75) and there 2 students only who were still failed. So the researcher and teacher decided that the implementation of making clipping as news reader technique can develop students’ vocabulary of first science class in SMAN 2 Pamekasan. Keywords:  Making Clipping, News Reader, Vocabulary, Science Class

Abstract

kal masuknya dunia kerja dan dunia industri, seiring masuknya pasar ekonomi asean Kegiatan Ipteks bagi Masyarakat (IbM) kami lakukan pada dua home industri di Kecamatan Pakong Kabupaten Pamekasan. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari tahap persiapan, tahap awal tahap pelaksanaan. Evaluasi dan hasil pelaksanaan IbM menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Secara umum anggota home industry Jamu tradisional “Pj Melati” dan anggota home industry jamu tradisional “Pj. Tongkat Sapu Jagad” mulai mengelola bagaimana cara meracik dan mencampur bahan jamu tradisional dapat menarik baik dari rasa maupun dari aroma sehingga kemasan tetap diminati masyarakat di Indonesia; 2) Sebagian besar Telah memahami dan menerapkan tugas dan tanggung jawab masing-masing sesuai job description; 3) menerapkan skedul terjadwal pengolahan secara sistematis dan terencana, baik pembuatan jamu mulai asam urat, sehat lelaki, maupun sehat perempuan yang terdiri dari bahan alami seperti Cikeling, Kapulaga, Manjakani, maupun Palasari. Untuk memenuhi permintaan pasar dan konsumen, khususnya para tengkulak dalam bentuk besar dilayani secara khusus. Teknologi pengemasan dengan menggunakan manual atau tangan-tangan terampil disesuaikan dengan keahlian dan kemahiran; 4) Telah memahami dan mulai menerapkan pencatatan transaksi keuangan setiap penjualan secara teratur dan secara periodic, yaitu pencatatan keuangan sederhana dengan periodesasi yaitu pencatatan keuangan sederhana dengan periode mingguan, bulanan untuk satu home industry jamu tradisional; 5) Anggota kelompok home industry “Pj Melati” dan” PJ Tongkat Sapu Jagad” sebagian besar menerapkan strategi pemasaran melalui iklan media cetak sampai dengan media elektronik atau di took-toko maupun swalayan dsekitar wilayah kota pamekasan; 6) Mulai menerpkan pengemasan dengan mencantumkan komposisi bahan-bahan (Ingridients) dan tanggal kadaluwarsa (expired date); 7) Sudah memiliki Surat Ijin Usaha Penerbitan (SIUP) dari Depkes bahkan sampai pada pengurusan BPOM (Badan Pengawasan Obat dan Makanan) sebagai bentuk legalisasi dan produk dan expailed tersebut.

Abstract

The purpose of this training program is to improve the soft skills of the students facing digital era in order have a good communication by using English actively. The target of this training is X class students at SMK Matsaratul Huda. The training consist of 3 stages, namely; at the presentation stage, discussion stage, and practice stage. The main purpose of this training is to make the participants mastering theory and practice of public speaking. The results shown that the participants have never received special public speaking training, especially using English. At the first time they felt insecure and thought they would not be able to do it. However, after seeing the example given by the facilitator in the training, the participants began to be challenged to try to practice speaking by using English. The results of this activity shown that the students have the potential to master a good communication, they can increase pronouncing vocabulary in the right form,and also they can arranged grammar correctly. Most of participants then felt enthusiastic to try to practice the strategies that had been conveyed by the presenters, especially in mastering speaking English.

Abstract

This study investigates the efficacy of using songs in conjunction with the Total Physical Response (TPR) method to enhance vocabulary mastering and creative thinking in EFL students. 36 first-grade students participated in two cycles of Classroom Action Research (CAR) at SMAN 03 Pamekasan. Students' low average score of 58 on the pre-test and initial observations indicated serious difficulties with vocabulary retention, spelling, pronunciation and accurate usage. TPR, which combines movement with language learning, was combined with songwriting exercises. In order to improve memory through dance and music, students worked in groups to compose and perform songs utilizing vocabulary words in the first cycle. Despite a 12.1% improvement in post-test scores, the results fell short of the minimal passing requirements set by English Teacher of SMAN 03 Pamekasan. Within the moment cycle, extra hone and anxiety-reducing measures, such as singing and acting out melodies some time recently testing, driven to a eminent advancement, with the normal score rising to 80. The think about found that the TPR strategy, when combined with tunes, altogether improved students' lexicon run, spelling, articulation, and exactness of utilization. Additionally, it cultivated more prominent understudy engagement, motivation, and inventiveness within the classroom. By and large, the investigate illustrates that TPR and tunes offer an compelling, intuitively approach to lexicon learning, making a difference understudies overcome challenges in dialect securing and making a more energetic and agreeable learning environment.

Abstract

Dalam suatu pembelajaran penting juga untuk mengetahui model penbelajaran yang akan digunakan supaya tujuan dari pembelajaran tersebut tercapai. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengimplementasian model Discovery Learning pada hasil belajar sains peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan desain yang mengacu pada model Kurt Lewin dimana dirancang dengan menggunakan 2 siklus yang memuat dari tahapan perencanaan, tahapan pelaksanaan, tahapan observasi dan tahapan refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 3 Pamekasan dengan subjek penelitian adalah kelas X-C dengan total peserta didik 36 orang. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa meningkat secara signifikan dari pra-siklus hingga siklus kedua. Pada pra-siklus, nilai siswa rata-rata 73,06 dan persentase ketuntasan belajar 77,78%, kemudian pada siklus pertama nilai siswa rata-rata 76,25 namun ada 16,67% siswa yang belum tuntas, lalu Pada siklus kedua, terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan dalam nilai siswa, dengan rata-rata 86,47 dan semua siswa (seratus persen) mencapai KKM secara tuntas. Dari data yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Discovery Learning benar-benar dapat meningkatkan pemahaman sains siswa tentang konsep dan keterampilan dalam siklus kedua. Mereka juga lebih aktif mengikuti proses pembelajaran, yang menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan ini memberikan dampak positif pada peserta didik terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Keberhasilan penerapan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning ini juga sangat bergantung pada peran aktif guru dan siswa.

Abstract

This research explores the effectiveness of incorporating picture with the Total Physical Response (TPR) technique to improve vocabulary acquisition and creative thinking in EFL learners. A total of 36 second-grade students took part in two Classroom Action Research (CAR) cycles at SMAN 03 Pamekasan. The low average mark of 58 on the pre-test among students and early observations suggested significant challenges with vocabulary retention, spelling pronunciation and proper usage. TPR integration of movement and language acquisition was paired with writing activities. While introducing vocabulary words during the first cycle students worked together in groups to describe pictures in photos and include images and vocabulary words during the second cycle to increase memory. Although there was a 12.1% increase during the period of the study the outcomes did not meet the minimum passing criteria established by the institution (KKM). During the immediate cycle, additional practice and stress-relief techniques, such as occasionally reviewing images from recent tests, led to a significant improvement, with the average score increasing to 80. The research indicated that when paired with melodies, the TPR method enhanced students' vocabulary fluency, spelling, pronunciation, and accuracy of usage. Furthermore, it fostered greater student involvement, enthusiasm, and creativity in the classroom. Overall, the study demonstrates that TPR and picture provide an engaging, straightforward method for vocabulary acquisition, helping students navigate difficulties in language learning and fostering a more vibrant and enjoyable educational atmosphere.

Abstract

Students writing mastery in English skill become a big problem that faced by Indonesian students, where is English as a foreign language for them. In order to overcome this problem, writing training was held by utilizing newspaper media. This training held in SMKN 3 Pamekasan specifically for students at XII grade. Writing news item text training give positif impact in increasing students writing ability. It is prove by students writing result that is in accordance with the generic structure of news item and also the correct use of the language. The students were very interested and enjoyed in making the news item text. There were no difficulties which become a barries or obstacles for students to make written work. From the explanation above it can be concluded that writing training by using newpaper as a media is very effective and efficent in increasing students’ news item ability.
